I could be, who says the mares weigh hundreds of pounds? They could be an alien race that grows bones made of carbon fibre. They could weigh only 30 lbs max, or hell the laws of thermodynamics and mass may not even function as we understand in their world.

I'm sure at some point, one of the Mane 6 were shown trying to carry one of their friends in freefall, I'm assuming. I can't remember which episode it was, but I'm fairly certain I remember one pony struggling to carry the clearly weighty mare.

So I'm going to guess that ponies most certainly aren't very light.

Was anyone else surprised the sky suddenly turned red, and that all the nukes and explosions didn't destroy Ponyville? Or that it was too convenient that Owliscious just happened to have survived without a scratch an explosion like that of the treehouse?

So I'm going to guess that ponies most certainly aren't very light.

They could be extremely light by human/earth standards. Just because a flower struggles to carry a feather, does not mean the feather is heavy, it is just heavy relative to the flower. And rainbow dash not only cought around 5 people in freefall, but also flew them to safety. Even Fluttershy has carried a pony or two around in the air.

That was absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I honestly didn't think it was going to be that amazing although it could have used more pinkie pie.

Wow. Just... WOW.

 

This episode was beyond expectations. The stakes were high and FELT high. Excellent episode. I just don't get why is it that Tirek knew about Cadance but didn't know about Twilight. And the only thing I personally don't like are the visuals they gave the ponies with the Rainbow Power. I would have preferred something more reminiscent of the Elements of Harmony, but the idea is exactly what I've been wanting since MMC. Thank you so much DHX!

 

The conversation before the Princesses give Twililight their magic was a bit awkward, but it worked. Twilight fighting Tirek looked great. Seriously. How powerful are the princesses? Tirek had all the magic of all the ponies and they "tied"? Damn...

 

I thought that Twilight's key would be the diary, but I'm not complaining. That was very fitting in the end.

 

Special mention to Spike having his own throne, Twilight saving Owlowiscious, Tirek was looking pretty intimidating in the end, Twilight running on overdrive and Twilight screwing up lowering the moon and raising the sun. That was funny.

 

I actually like the product placement... I mean, the girl's palace.

 

And now, finally, I can believe Discord is part of Team Good Guys.

Cadance was standing right there, probably.  I figure if he's only just starting to drain magic from ponies, it took him awhile to start moving around to the point where he could get information about the outside world.  Besides it doesn't look like Twilight's coronation was a big thing outside of Canterlot, which is probably why no one in Manehattan cares that she is a princess.

I felt that the episode needed to explain why is it that Twilight was under Tirek's radar.

It's not like she is not famous or anything. If anything Rarity Takes Manehattan was in the wrong on how she was treated. It's not like she could not be famous after all that she and her friends did.

I think that the Rainbow Power is what the Elements should have been from the beginning: it's about the ponies and their friendship, not the artifacts. In the end, it's all the same: the Magic of Friendship.

This. Season. Finale. WAS THE BEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN.
I was leaning in my seat from start to finish. There was so many things I loved about the episode, and I don't have a single complaint.
Everything was handled amazingly.

• Tirek was almost horrifying, and I'm too old to be scared by cartoons. His power to take a pony's magic, flight, and strength gave me chills. The fact that he was able to manipulate Discord says a lot, really. Oh my gosh, and when he turned into his mega-powerful form, I gave a loud gasp.  I never saw Generation I, but if Tirek was always this amazing, I might give it a shot.
• Discord. DISCORD DISCORD DISCORD DISCORDDD. SWEET CELESTIA, DISCORD WAS INCREDIBLE. Gosh, I had an inkling that Discord would be the one to give Twilight Sparkle her key of magic, but I couldn't think of a better way. Discord and Fluttershy were just so sweet in this episode, it gave me feels when she started to cry and he looked away. ;__; Also, the whole fact that HE was the one to discover the link between the key and chest was the greatest.
• I was very scared about the fact that the alicorns would give Twilight all their power would make her super over-powered and Mary-Sueish, but... This was much better than expected. I liked the fact that she couldn't control the magic, and that fight scene was the best thing I've ever seen in this show.
• The music was minimal, but I really loved both songs. LUNA SAANNNNGGGGG.
• Rainbow Power. We all knew it was coming, but gosh diddly-do, it was actually handled nicely. I wonder if they're going to use it again.
• Twilight's Castle was gorgeous. I can't wait to see how it affects Season 5.
• Oh! That reminds me, I loved that the episodes focused on our questions like, "Why isn't Twilight treated like a princess?" I hope now that she has a castle and knows her true purpose as a princess, she'll be treated more like one.
• And Tirek's brother? Are we gonna see him in the Season 5 opener? I hope so. It was odd he was mentioned, but didn't show up at all.
• That continuity with Ceberus tho. I had thought they forgot about it, but they USED it to fuel the plot. Isn't that amazing?

So... 10/10. This episode was perfect in every. single. way.
