Why do so many people hate Twist?

To be fair, I didn't see any kind of hate for Twist before this. Maybe an under-appreciation of her or something, but not really a hate.

 

I haven't seen anything about this either, I'm just finding out now.

She seemed like a main character for one episode I guess, but after Applebloom formed the Cutie Mark Crusaders she was basically forgotten... if anything I feel kinda sorry for her, rather than hate her. Perhaps lack of character development has something to do with it, though. :/

I don't really hate Twist, I don't care for her simply because as Gamer said, she doesn't stick up for fellow classmates like the CMC. Other than that I prefer her over Diamond Tiara or Silver Spoon.

I get that whole thing about her seemingly leaving Apple Bloom behind once she got her cutie mark, but hatred is just taking it too far. That's the crap that certain fans tend to do, they're much too strong in their love and hatred of certain things.

 

Twist was just a one-shot character. Just forget it and let it go, it's not like she joined DT & Silver Spoon or something.

It's hard to tell whether Twist ditched Apple Bloom or vice versa or did they just go their separate ways..  I think the writers opted to not answer this question by making Twist irrelevant.

 

I saw some YouTube videos that have their ten worst MLP characters.. and besides some of the obvious (Snips, Snails, Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, Prince Bluebood).. Twist often makes it on the list.

 

And.. oh my gosh.. wouldn't it be something if Twist and Bon-Bon turned out to be sisters... or thithterth.

Yeah ... I'm gonna have to agree with the people saying that AB abandoned Twist instead of the other way around. AB didn't do it maliciously, obviously, and she's not a bad person. She just placed too much value on a cutie mark, and felt that Twist having one was too much of a difference between them, and she felt lesser because of it. AB allowed this to damage their friendship.

 

Basically, AB didn't treat Twist in the same way Scootaloo and SB treated AB when AB supposedly got HER cutie mark in The Cutie Pox.

I neglect to mention the fact that Twist, like most of the supporting cast for the CMC, looks like little more than a run-of-the-mill stock character. She just has that vibe of the stereotypical nerdy, awkward girl with the big glasses and the lisp that you've probably seen in a bunch of other cartoons and other TV shows. Same for Snips and Snails and Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. That's not a reason to hate her, but that's a reason to not like her. There's a difference.
