general media Worst fanfiction you've ever read?

There are some pretty bad fanfics out there.I have read many.

The worst is probably either My Immortal or Half Life:Full life Consequences(which is so bad it's good,like The Room or Troll 2) in my opinion.

Not much of a fanfic reader. I prefer my fanworks in comic or visual art form.

 

The only ones I've read are the first couple big ones: Cupcakes (plus a couple alternate endings) and My Little Dashie. Out of the two, Cupcakes is definitely the lesser one simply because MLD actually induced some genuine emotions. Cupcakes was mostly laughs. Though I fully admit that the first time I read it I didn't see Pinkie in the same light until I watched the show again to reaffirm Pinkie's original concept.

That... is a very difficult question you pose there, Alpha. Why? Well, all it takes is one glance at the FanFiction website, and suddenly you have a dozen or so more crap to choose from. Quite difficult, considering I am in a constant hunt for good Zelda fanfiction...

 

I can't think of the 'worst', but one I happened to come across made for a good laugh...

 

The basic gist of it? You had Shadlink (actual name... Also, I find I pronounce it as 'Shit Link'. Hah.), born in the Twilight Realm with the fourth piece of the Triforce (Bravery, which... well...) and he had to reunite the Twilight Realm and the Light World...

 

Again, not the 'worst', but just that sticks out in my mind at the moment...

Do you mean like bad in the classical sense? Like apple family massacre were they got the anatomy wrong in their gorefic? I mean, if you are going to write a gorefic, get the anatomy, and description of internal organs correct. And as for just lazy and terrible, any OCxMane6 clopfic is terrible.

 

 

But for my personal worst, FoE. Prose so purple it broke the carrying capacity of the ultra violet spectrum, a chapter structor with no consistency, a main character who either bored me or pissed me off. And their entire journey/plot was a copy paste of fallout 3, with some fallout 1 and 2 elements thrown in, and just painted pony.

Sweet Apple Massacre and all other fanfics that have unnecessary gore that is just used to shock the reader.

Breaking world building balance is usually pretty terribad. It's fun to do on your own time but it doesn't garner a lot of attention cuz it ruins the validity of existing canon.

I won't name titles, but I am particularly irritated by the "Recon Sniper in Equestria" and other such stories that crop up on Fimfiction every now and again. They're generally poorly written, filled with gun porn (i.e., copying the Wikipedia article for a weapon or vehicle), possess little faithfulness to the content of MLP, and ultimately read like weird power fantasies on the part of the author.

Easy way to find horrible fanfics on fimfiction. Just browse: Mature Sex Gore and you will be able to find many many horrible fics. The worst one I read, though I forgot what it was called, fell under this category. I made zero sense the description had nothing to do with the story the, cover art was MS Paint, it had over 200 dislikes, the grammar was so broken, one second the guy is sexing luna then the next they are killing zombie ponies, Stalin and Lenin make an appearance even though humans weren't even in the tags... there was no way that it was passed through by a mod that was sober...

I'll tell you why it is so popular, it is a self insert fanfic that isn't at the same time. The main character is so bland and flat that he could be any sad Brony that is reading it. Seriously off  the top of anybody's head, nobody can tell me his name because he doesn't matter. All that matters is that you can adopt Dashie for yourself.

Barring any gorefics, because I hate all of them, I'd say My Little Dashie.

Loads. The worst ones I've ever encountered are definitely legolas by laura, My Immortal, Prisoner of Imaldris, Celebrian and Subjugation. Thank goodness for hilarious youtube presentations. XD

Any fanfic which ships two female ponies and has them have a foal together. Um, did you pay attention in sex ed?

 

 

I understand that you want your same sex pairing to have a foal together, but you could, you know, do what same sex couples do in reality; ie, get a co-operative male to donate. You can't just have two females breed a foal between them with no male in sight.

okay back when the site fanfiction.net originally went up there were not a lot of fanfics, however the few that were there were some what decent, then things changed and the site got popular and everyone was on it. with it being so popular there were an addition of questionable works O_o one of them being in the Harry Potter section. this particular work is probably not there anymore I forget the name but I remember the concept it was baisically Hermione Granger being shipped with every male character in the series with her character being so mary sueish that it borderlined on her being a completely different person. the story might of worked out well had the author not lost so much interest that they changed the story where random things would happen that did not make sense, at one point Ron dies of an overdose of heroin and its never explained why or the fact that he is an addict lol I guess we as readers were supposed to assume that, but overall i'd call it the worst thing I ever read and I have not found one that bad since, believe me it was so bad you couldn't pull yourself away even if you tried XD
