    Kickstarter is actually changing that. With studios having the option of using Kickstarter to fund their game develop rather than big publishers being the only option, it means you can have multi-million dollar games made by independent studios. It's only been done a few times so far but it could theoretically become more popular than publishers as a way for a studio to fund their games, even if they are millions of dollars to make. The argument that quality is a gamble is just as true of big companies as long as you're being smart and not buying games from unproven folks sight unseen. Remember Duke Nukem Forever? Aliens: Colonial Marines? Nonetheless I think there will probably always, or at least for a very long time yet, be space for AAAs to produce "safe" games like your Call of Dutys and your Assassin's Creeds.

    I think there could be a lot of potential with episodes where Spike is hanging around ponies other than Twilight in general. Trying to help out on the farm with Applejack... Helping babysit with Fluttershy? Stuck with Rainbow for some reason?

    I noticed this just the other day! But it's not so much that they are "better" earth-peg-uni ponies, as much as what they do represents the unique quality of their race perfectly. On the other hand, the other three use their racial abilities for their own important reasons, rather than simply what that race exists for traditionally.

    I guess so. But then, when I think about it waaaay too hard it seems kind of like, if I were an equine, and the cow were a bovine, and we could speak, and the females of both our species had udders. It would be kind of like milking a boob?

    And I thought humans milking cows was weird enough. God imagine if the cow you were milking was as intelligent as you, and could talk. Awkward?

    Personally, I think they have mid-late 20th century level technology, but for their society technology is just less important, so only prevalent in some places like Manehattan. In other places magic is preferred over technology, since both can be used to accomplish the same things, and magic has a more natural feel. The impression I've gotten is that Equestria has whatever technology it is necessary to have, but not more. I think that this is evidenced by the way it tends to show up based on convenience relative to the plot of the given episode, and can vary from old-timey to fully contemporary, to even futuristic.

    Well, it could be. Or it could be more like a silent protagonist in a game. The "You" character is never given a reason to speak, so they don't. The idea does work better in games though...either because dialogue isn't that important overall (Zelda) the character is kind of a blank slate for the player (Half-Life) or they went with dialogue options and a quiet protagonist rather than a silent one (Persona).

    I have the same issue as many with this. It really does just seem like Weird Al x Pinkie. Which is really weird, if you ask me. But hey, if you can sever that resemblance, or you didn't really know about Weird Al before, then whatevs.

    That doesn't quite seem like Murphy's law... Honestly I don't see why this discussion is still ongoing. If it were done tastefully, just a baby head in front of a mother's teat area, it wouldn't cause any more rule 34 than we usual get. I mean, it would be completely unnecessary, but not actually harmful...

    Mostly true. I'm all for members of the cast being gay, but since nobody really has had any romantic influences at all besides Rarity (EG doesn't count ), who is clearly (?) straight there really wouldn't be any point to it. They shouldn't be canonically gay for the same reason they shouldn't be canonically straight, basically. That being said, Rarity shows that the show isn't above having romance-ish stuff, so I don't see the issue with a character being casually gay. It doesn't always have to contribute to the character any more than being straight, sometimes it's just business-as-usual. Headcanon is fun though! But no, AJ isn't gay in my headcanon, even if it doesn't seem totally unlikely.

    I see Discord as the type of dude who would have more of a kismesis than a regular lover. At least, some sort of a sexy rivalry with a singular pony representing harmony. The sort of romance where the two forces collide and collide, crashing together and fighting, but eventually they realize that with all the conflict, they have somehow become tangled together. Or you know, the Mane 6, all at once, since they're kind of his opposite? Elements of Harmony x Avatar of Chaos?

    It would be fine, and it wouldn't necessarily mean pony boob. I mean, if she were sitting down, the baby could just be sitting in her lap with its head bobbing in front of her chest. No actual chest lump or anything, just the back of a baby face in front of it.

    How could this happen? When I sleep next to my grandmother I always double-check that she isn't actually a wolf wearing her skin as a disguise!

    I think it could go either way. Rainbow would probably have the advantage, with unsurpassable speed and a pretty good amount of power, especially if she's using weather tricks. On the other hand, Applejack would have an x-factor, in that a single hit with a buck or lasso would probably mean Rainbow is down for the count, whereas AJ could easily withstand a fair few hits from Dash. In a purely defensive battle, I think Applejack would have a big advantage since she's so tough, and in that case, wouldn't have to worry about chasing RD down or anything.

    I watched Sunset Boulevard with my parents the other day. Was not disappointed, it totally flipped my perception of what Film noire is.

It probably only got as much approval as it did because of the strong start, I doubt anyone would 5-star it (Back when FIMFiction used stars) after reading that lameo ending. Certainly a good concept though.

    Three years ago, I wrote pony fanfiction. I wrote some 14,000 words of moderately good, semi-popular-ish stuff, finishing one story and then vanishing suddenly and completely from the community in the middle of the second like a total jerk. For a year or so, traveling with my family, I didn't have much access to the internet, and it just didn't seem possible to keep up with the community. By the time we moved back, and I had the possibility of getting back into the community, I was too embarrassed about having abandoned it and left everybody I was in contact with in the dark. Plus I was getting used to being an adult, which has a tendency of making it difficult to manage unnecessary things. Now that I'm starting to settle back into things, I am returning anew! I don't have plans of getting back into fanfiction, as I'm a little too busy writing an, err, manuscript to submit to publishers (right, haha...) as well as another project with the family. But who knows, maybe I'll take my improved skill and try to write something great in the future. Regardless of that, I do have some pretty big pony related creative plans! They're a secret for now, however. At any rate, that's the gist of it! I hope to make some friends and just chat it up. Maybe we can play games together at some point!
