  1. That's the lovely thing about sexism, though. It can be anybody that has this mindset, and the person doesn't realize that they have been messed up by society. You would be surprised by even how many nerds are misogynist jerks. I used to think guys who were more nerdy and quiet and stuff would be better, but nobody is safe from it. This is why it really upsets me when people think only guys who are extremely outgoing and are very obnoxious and whatnot can only be offenders with this, and then they blame the woman for not having the "right" friends. I get the "idea" that that's what they want because that's what happens and they say it outright what the goal was! I never said that is EVERY time a guy is nice to me, of course not. But it happens very often with plenty of women. So many dudes don't want to be your friend, and once you reject their advances they just love to insult you or they are manipulative and cry to all their friends and whine about what a bitch you are for not getting them laid (even though they were so nice to you and listened to ALL of your problems!), and everything in between. If you were female you would understand, lol.
  2. I don't know if Alestorm counts, but they sing about pirates. And god is it amazing.
  3. This so much. It's not exactly an untrue statement when someone says all guys want is sex. I've lost count to how many men who have either thought I "owed" them for them being my friend, or I "owe" them because they pay attention to me. And then when I refuse them what they want they insult me. You can't ever win!
  4. I think it's abuse, but then again I eat meat, so I don't know if I really have the authority to say it's cruel. The only difference between me partaking in eating meat and bullfighting is the fact that I don't see what happens to the animals I eat. I'll say I'm indifferent on it.
  5. I cried so hard at the ending of Silent Hill 2 when Then, I don't know if this counts, but the end of the Left 4 Dead comic made me cry so much, too.
  6. The entirety of The Velveteen Rabbit.
  7. To make some sort of impact on the world (nothing giant), and to move far, far away from Texas.
  8. Least Favorite: Lesson Zero Favorite: Read it and Weep, Hearts and Hooves Day, MMMystery on the Friendship Express
  9. As a huge fan of Battle Royale, I thought I was going to absolutely despise this movie (I never read the books). I saw it because my bff wanted to see it, and I just wanted to spend some time with her. Turns out, I liked it a LOT better than I thought I would. I was pleasantly surprised that Woody Harrelson was in it. He was great. I also loved how much they focused on how everything was for TV. That is why I liked this movie so much. Unlike BR they focused much more heavily on the fact it was a TV show and how that particular factor affects all of the people involved. It was also nice to see a young female character with a personality despite the fact this movie is so popular with teens. I was expecting some flat, unoriginal characters like those in Twilight.
  10. Like others have said, I'd just drop it and let him do his thing. I do sympathize with you, though. I absolutely can't stand it when people hate things they don't give a chance (which it's fine if they still don't like it, it's just the principle of the matter to try something before you form an opinion!). Yet I've learned there is nothing you can do about that kind of thing.
  11. "The Good Girl" that starred Jennifer Aniston, Toby McGuire, and John C. Reilly. I had never heard of this movie before. That is one of the best and most depressing movies I have ever seen.
  12. Sure! We should see if there is any more DFW people on here too!
  13. I was going to say Flight Simulator for the PC when reading the title, but then I realized you were looking for a combat game. Flight Simulator is still fun AND realistic, though!
  14. I don't see any problem when people critique something they like. Here's a quote I found on Tumblr the other day that I think is relevant to this topic.
  15. Mr. Face from Amnesia, of course. Numb bodies from SH3. I don't know why but these guys creeped me out so bad. The Tank from Left 4 Dead. I practically crap myself every time I hear the music. Finally, the Scissor Twins from Clock Tower 3. They don't look that scary, but I have never screamed more from a survival horror more than the brother popped out from a bathroom stall when I thought I was completely safe from him. Edit: I knew I forgot one! The Iron Maidens from Resident Evil 4 scared the bejeezus out of me! Just how they move and stuff, bleggggh!
  16. Underrated: Rarity, Applejack, and Granny Smith. Overrated: Fluttershy. Doesn't mean I don't like her though.
