    Pretty good episode, and I found it to better than first couple of episodes starting the second half of Season 5. Superb characterization and moral for Fluttershy while doing a nice job handling the others well. There were plenty of visuals gags as well.

    I would say it plays a key part for the future of MLP, but I would not say the future solely lies with Equestria Girls. I think the MLPFIM movie in 2017 may be a bigger factor in all of this but as long as Hasbro can keep on selling toys I can see Equestria Girls staying around perhaps even outlasting MLPFIM until G5 as the concept of it seemingly appeals to its aging primary core demographic.

    The castle looks nice, and is appropriate for the character of where she is now in terms of development. So yes.

    It is a telling sign that the same people are trying to create drama where there is none to be had, and it is sad that some are unable to move on from it. I would say it has been a good move as far as changing the status quo without altering the dynamics too much, and I am comfortable to say that most of the fears about such a move have been exaggerated or unfounded. I would say it has been a mixed blessing so far given that they underplayed it throughout most of Season 4 but now they are doing more with it in Season 5 at least. Got some pretty good episodes out of it, and also Equestria Girls to boot, but Twilight is still the same old Twilight. It also seems to have been a smart marketing move on Hasbro's end as well as far the business side is concerned.

    Sorry Twilight, if your butt does not glow than you can't go. Cadence being pregnant sounds interesting. All in all it was a nice little trailer for the second half of Season 2.

    I am more excited for this one than the return of Season 5 from its hiatus.

    Still in town but with no magical power anymore, so they are just normal girls now as far as my guess on the matter is concerned.

    I would say she is a well meaning person who had a hard time making friends, and gets pushed to far leading her to be corrupted by forces beyond her control as Midnight Sparkle.

    Might be nice if Twilight got a few more slice of life episodes to go alongside those milestone episodes, but she also has been the focus of several movies already as well the upcoming Friendship Games and Pony film in 2017 from what is known. She gets a fair amount of screentime love as is. Frankly I would rather have have the staff tell the stories they want to without worrying too much about character focus or balance. The better question is : why applejack didnt get more love? Marketing. Applejack has somewhat of a limited appeal compared to some of the other Mane 6. But perhaps Applejack may be one of the difficult characters to write for though.

    Remember when people were worried about Princess Skyla? Skyla may still happen as there have some hints suggesting Cadance may indeed have a child if one looks at the Season 5 poster with all of the cast. I would not worry about those toys until if and when it actually happen as most of the time the toys don't impact the show in a meaningful way.

    It would maybe be a factor, but not the sole basis for her decision. To call her a gold digger would be a disservice to the character as there is more than Rarity than that but she does aspire to climb the social ladder.

    Has not the show already struck down Sparity by putting Spike in the friend zone several times already?

    Unlikely given the toys for Cutie Mark Magic so far. If they were to do a such thing it might be better served as a series finale as I don't see how turning them all into alicorns or princesses furthers the other characters growth as far personal ambitions are concerned. Plus it would dilute the whole idea of becoming an alicorn if everyone could just become one like that especially if the others don't earn it.

    She probably hangs around the back of the school selling the students all the special "herbs" if you know what I mean Breaking Bad meets Equestria Girls?

    It is a kid's show, but there is nothing inherently wrong with that as kid's shows can be just as well written or entertaining as any other show that is labeled for an older audience. However it is not a kid's show in the conventional sense as far the term is concerned so perhaps family show may be a better term here.

    Voted for Twilight, Luna, and Octavia. There is something nice about the uniformity of Twilight's design with not a whole lot of contrast going for it. The updated version of Luna has an awesome mane compared to her first depiction in the very first episodes. Octavia has a classy look going for her with the gray and black coloring.

    Yeah. I believe this is the moment where she transforms into Midnight Sparkle.

    Not an if at this point, as one of the presentations at an earlier Toy Fair mentioned that Midnight Sparkle was going to play a role in the film. Midnight Sparkle might very well be the product of Twilight absorbing too much magic and losing control and she could be the final boss, but nothing so far in the trailers suggests Twilight is all antagonistic though.

    Why not get Meghan McCarthy to be the showrunner for the next generation too? Might be better for the next generation to use a completely different staff, studio, and vocal talent, plus Meghan is also the Head Storyteller for the Girl Brands for Hasbro now so may still be involved in some capacity. Hasbro is just preparing for the future right now, and I think the MLPFIM movie in 2017 will serve as a means to end the G4 animated series.
