  1. I would totally be up for it, Thorax talk about it in the opener and I think it would be a very cool plotline to follow a bit. Maybe Celestia, Luna or Cadance could go in the Changelings Kingdom to give some advice to the new leader. Or maybe Twillight or even Starlight could come visit and help him be more assertive and embrace his new role.
  2. The problem is not that Starlight is having some screentime this season, it's that last season she barely had any ('-')/
  3. It's a shame... Pinkie Pie is my favorite pony, she always has been the most relatable character of the cast for me, and it's probably why I didn't enjoy the episode as much as some of you. Until now I never find her annoying, even in Filli Vanilli I didn't find her out of character or annoying and she made my smile and laugh by how absurd her reactions were to what was said and what was happening. But this episode... argh... Pinkie was even obnoxious for me which is something I didn't think would be possible @_@ There was some good Pinkie moments : the slow motion mode, the Maud imitation and the "accidental" explosion were pretty good jokes. But she was unbearable the rest of the time. She had her moments in hyper mode in the past and I accepted that, but an entire episode with her in this state ? It's too much. At first I could totally relate to Pinkie, being myself a bit overbearing sometimes when it comes to people I care about. But the episode made Pinkie went really too far in this path and depict her as totally oblivious to the others reactions (even if she is supposedly able to understand the emotions of Maud like no one else) and... she was just annoying during the majority of the episode because of that. Yes at the end of the episode she learn her errors, but this doesn't erase all of the obnoxiousness of the rest of the episode. Even more I would have prefered if Pinkie would have understand by herself what happened instead of needing someone telling her what she did wrong :/ ... So... about the rest of the episode. I find it amusing that Starlight is so present in the beginning of this season. I like it. It's just a shame that there were not so many episodes about her last season... Last season it would have been cool to see Starlight having some episodes like this, bonding with characters, overcoming some weakness of her (All bottled up) to prepare for the finale. Now that she has graduated is the time she begin to grow as a character... I find this very strange but hey ('-')... I like the secret hobby of Starlight and it was not something coming from nowhere since I think we already saw at least a kite in her room before. I like Maud, she was very well written, I especially like the explanation of why Maud like rocks so much it was really sweet and explain a bit more about her character. Their dynamic was good and I believe in their friendship. A shame Pinkie was so poorly written all along, the episode could have been a very good one I could have rewatch sometimes if she was a bit toned down and if the episode wasn't as repetitive as he was (the first half of the episode is basically Pinkie showing Maud some type of rocks without success, the second half is basically Maud and Starlight trying to bond and Pinkie being annoying as fuck). It wasn't a bad episode, but definitively not a great one. Maybe the fact that I'm a Pinkie's fan is part of why I didn't like this episode ('-')... Like Rainbow's fans didn't like Newbie Dash altought I had no problem with it ^^"
  4. I don't really like the new design because... I think it's a pretty dumb and dull idea. The point of the Thorax episode was to show what under their appareances they could be good guys... so magicaly transforming all the changelings from a "bad appareance" to a "good appareance" kinda ruin the moral in my opinion. If the changelings would have kept their original designs it would have been a most powerful message in my opinion... They had a change of heart and I think it's a pity that implied a physicial change as well ^^ In addition the new designs are... well... the color palet is offputting for some changelings. I know it's because they wanted to make a contrast with the very dark and evil changeling original design, but they go a bit too far in the color department for my taste ^^
  5. Yeah for me too it felt a bit rushed... The cocoon stay on screen for very few seconds and it seems a bit unatural that the transformation between two relatively different form took only 5 seconds. In addition I think a bit of the hate for this new form of the changelings come from the fact that the revelation was a little bit quick. If the cocoon was in the backround for one minute and if the show had allowed spectators to wonder about the new design for a little more time, the revelation of the new changelings would have been way more powerful and maybe more accepted than the Old design > Cocoon > New design in 5 seconds flat like in the episode. Don't be silly There are other ways to do this sort of thing than going "WHAT IS THIS COCCOON THING !???" for 2 minutes. It would have been better, in my humble opinion, if the story was written like this : - Thorax share love, the throne is destroy and Chrysalis defeated. - Thorax go in cocoon mode - The changelings look at each others, confused, and gather around the cocoon as the castle collapsed - The Mane 6 and all the others characters are liberated, we see the cocoon in the backround - Starlight confront Chrysalis - Chrysalis escape, leaving her kingdom behind since all of her subjects are too absorbed by the cocoon to even listen to her - As she escape, Thorax leave his cocoon. Big reveal of the new design of Thorax. In addition, it would have been a cool parallel I think between the queen who flee the kingdom and the new leader who emerges at the same time. - Starlight says "This is what happened when you share love and don't just try to steal it" - The Changelings undergo the transformation and go in cocoon mode. - Celestia does her speech and ask everyone to leave the kingdom for now, saying she would return to see Thorax when the other changelings would emerge at their turns. Everyone leave. - The scene in Starlight's village. - The show return quickly at the Changeling hive and we saw a couple of changelings coming out of their cocoons for the reveal of how they look now. The pacing would have been... much better (?) But it's juste my silly point of view ^^
  6. After season 4 and season 5 which for me were the best seasons to date, season 6 was a bit of a disappointment for sure. All seasons have so far been a mix between good and relatively bad episodes, but I think that this sixth season is the one which gave me the more of episodes I didn't really like, or episodes I didn't really care about which is even worst from my point of view... The writting was not always very good, the stories not always interresting enough to keep my attention, and where were some really strange pacing problems during a lot of episodes... The episodes I liked : The Crystalling 1-2, The Gift of Maud Pie, On Your Mark, Gauntlet of Fire, No Second Prances, Newbie Dash, a Hearth's Warming Tail, The Saddle Row Review (++), Flutter Brutter, Spice Up Your life, Stranger than fanfiction, Viva Las Pegasus, Every little things she does, P.P.O.V Meh episodes : The times they are a changelling, Dungeons and Discord, Buckball season, The fault in our cutie mark, To where and back again 1-2 The episodes which bored me to death : The Cart before the ponies, 28 Pranks later, Where the apple lies, Applejack's day off So... not a totally bad seasons, but the ratio of good/meh is too tight for my liking ^^"
  7. It's a shame all the changelings transform at the end of the episode. Thorax come a long way to become what he is now, he had an episode where he become a part of the Crystal Empire, made friends with a lot of ponies off screen etc... So it was legit for him to become a "Neo changeling" because he had love inside of him and love to share... But the other changelings ? I think it would have been better to have an episode about them in the next season where Thorax and Spike help the others to learn friendship and transform at their turn. Because right now the changelings don't have a clue about friendship and have been rulled by Chrysallis since their birth... Apart from that it was a good set of episodes. I really like Discord and Trixie in this story. Magicless Discord was priceless and his relation with Trixie was one of the highlight. I also liked the fact that Chrysallis is still "evil" and don't want to change her ways, it was refreshing and allow Starlight to see that she has changed since the Cutie Map unlike that she thought.
  8. Pinkie Pie. Pinkie is just the more relatable character in all the cast for me. All the lessons she learnt, I needed to learn them too. And more we spend time knowing and learning about her, more she seems even more relatable to me (Party Pooper for example). Obvioulsy she is also the pony who made me laugh each time and she never ceased to amuse me, even in Filli Vanilli (yes, I liked the Pinkie in Filli Vanilli). In short, Pinkie Pie is my spirit animal and I love her (in a complete platonic way). If I was given the choice to hang out with somepony, it would be her. The rest of my list, just for fun : 1. Twillight 2. Fluttershy 3. Rarity 4. Applejack 5. Rainbow Dash
  9. Instead of stealing love one pony has from another pony (by becoming the pony in question) like the Changellings do, Thorax wants to try creating love by himself. If we look at "A Canterlot wedding" we can see that Chrysalis was feeding of the love Shining Armor felt for Cadance. But if a Changeling is love by someone else, it means the Changeling can feed of the love someone feel for himself. By being friends (or lovers) with ponies or with other Changelings, they could potentielly create love and feeding themselves with that love they created. It's not very complicated ^^ ... I don't think we will see Thorax again. Maybe a little cameo when they will comeback in the Crystal Empire, the M6 with Shining Amor, Flurry Heart and Cadance, Starlight with Sunburst, and Spike having fun with Thorax during this time... But not in a big role as in the episode ^^
  10. If Spike had brought back Thorax with him, shouldn't Starlight had brought back Sunburst with her ? o_O We can have friends living far away from us, Spike and Thorax can be friends even if one lives in Ponyville and the other in the Crystal Empire. The point of the episode was not to say : "In Ponyville we accept all differences" but "In the Crystal Empire they learnt that Changelings are also living creatures and can have emotions", if Thorax was just gonna go with Spike and Twillight back to Ponyville, what was the point to the song and trying to persuade Cadance and Shining Armor that Thorax was not evil ? ^^" No Thorax is in the kingdom litteraly fuelled by raw love where he can sustain himself without doing anything wrong to anypony. He is in the kingdom where everpony was affraid of Changelings and nobody would gave him a chance. This is the best place for him :3
  11. This is threads like this that show how difficult it is to please everyone in the fandom x)... Some are excited because it could be a Twillight episode, but others would rather like to have an episode about Pinkie, Rarity and Applejack because they are more entertaining. At the same time if an episode is a Pinkie/Rarity people will said it's overused, but if it's a pure Rarity or a pure Pinkie there is too much solo episodes for them. People wants more solo episode for some ponies, but when Rainbow gets some, people don't like it and prefer when she supports. Nobody on this thread agree on what they want the episode to be, so there will be people disapointed by the episode at the end. There's no other way ^^
  12. I'm french and I watch the episode online during saturday night or friday afternoon depending on the time I have Oh and here we have plushies in store, Mlp POP in some stores and last month there was some mlp toys in MacDonald's kid menu ^^
  13. I don't really understand some of you o_o For me season 6 was great, with great stories and consistent characters except 28 Pranks later and The Cart before the ponies. There was two meh episode in a row so a lot of people seems to give the show no future and critic all season 6 as a failure when just before the hiatus and these two meh episodes aired the general consensus was that season 6 was a pretty good one so far... As for the characters... I was perfectly fine with Newbie Dash, I enjoyed this episode in fact, a cool moral which not a lot of kids show do, and Dashie was right on point. I know RD did the contrary in Wonderbolt Academy, but... It's exactly why RD was consistent in this episode. RD was always shown having a very high sensibility about her ego and how others perceived her, and this is a fact that will never change because it's the core of her personnality... Also she is a pony who don't always thinks things through, especially when she wants to resolve an unbereable situation for her. So the fact that she had the feeling of being bullied, the fact that some traumatic experience was put in the mix and fact that she wanted to resolve the situation the fastest she can, made her take wrong and silly decisions... but that's not bad characterisation, she's been like that since season 1 and resolving these problems of her completly would be the same as changing who she is. So yeah for me there was no problem in Newbie Dash, at least concerning RD. All her actions were quite understable and made sense in this particular set and with the events happening around her. But hey... I think that Rarity was perfectly in character in Spice uf your life too, so what did I know ? u_u
  14. Not an amazing episode, but not a bad one either. The start of the episode was kind of slow and become a bit repetitive since the first part is pranking some ponies, the second is delivering cookies to the same ponies (I think a more fast paced pranking montage and delivering montage would have been much better, with maybe more ponies involved and more pranks, because for some scenes were dragging on a little to bit). I liked the concept of the zombie ponies at last on screen, the scenes were really good, a lot of shots straight out of horror films and a good ambiance, and the zombies design was very cool ^^ I think the moral was kind of overdue nonetheless, Rainbow Dash was not seen pranking since season 1 so it felt weird to see Rainbow Dash doing silly pranks like that now that she grox during 6 seasons and is now a Wonderbolt, I kind of guess she was mature enough and busy enough to not prank everypony in Ponyville all day... Fluttershy was also kind of meh in the intro... I really liked how she was the one to give courage to her animals since in first seasons it was often the contrary, but after that Fluttershy being afraid of a simple "Boo" was... not very in character for her... I mean in "Flutter Brutter" she was seen to be past that point and even lectured Zeph on the fact that she was afraid each time she had to face a great danger, but remains strong, so... Yeah the "Boo" was not a very funny joke and make no sense. I liked Pinkie in the episode. But I love Pinkie in every episodes so... Good moments for her, some crazy antics and faces and she was in character : even if she liked the pranks of Rainbow, she knew what it didn't bring laughter to her friends and made the right choice. I really liked the fact that she was described as both a pony who laugh at a lot of thing, but know where to put the limits sometimes even if it's hard for her. Yeah... She was the only pony we saw more than 2 minutes and who was in character, so I had to point it out In conclusion, an average episode, better than the one from last week, but not a masterpiece. I enjoyed it, but will not rewatch this episode a million time like some classics ^^
  15. Yeah yeah yeah... I liked all the episode this season, it was time an episode what I don't like aired I suppose. The Cart before the ponies is, for me, the Princess Spike of this season. It was just bland, boring, poorly written and overall just a meh episode... I even grab a book during the episode since this episode bore me to death pretty quickly and I was just eager to distract myself a little... First the writting was so... repetitive. The majority of the episode (and I could even say the all episode) was just the same thing repeating again and again and again : the CMCs were not happy with the carts their sisters made, they tell the adults that they think, the adults don't listen. End scene. New scene : the CMS repeat that they don't like the carts. The adults are caught up in their memories and don't listen. End scene. A montage to hammer the fact that thes CMCs don't like the carts their making, the fact that the adults don't listen. End scene. The CMCs talk about the carts, say that they don't like them and that the adults don't listen. End scene. The carts are ready. The CMCs say they don't want to ride in these carts. The adults don't listen. End scene. For god sake ! There was even a song about it ! All this episode was just characters talking about the same thing again and again and again and again ! This episode was just... so empty ! Sometimes I find that episodes are too shorts and that the story was rushed to fit in the 20 minutes time. But in this case it's the contrary, this plot could have been told in a 5 minutes episodes, there was nothing, really nothing. So the writters needed to fill the time with more nothingness and the result is... a very boring episode where nothing happens. You know what ? The worst thing in this episode is the fact what the ending was rushed and a little bit potential was lost. The sisters realized their errors far to quick and the moral was so blunty say and akwardly introduced in the end of the episode that this episode doesn't feel even a little bit worth the rewatch. The writters could have cut some time in the previous nothingness of the episode to allow themselves to create a real third act after the cart accident where the sisters could have thought about that they've done and understand that they were wrong... But no... They just keep all the first and only act of this episode and decided to end the episode in a one minute realisation + end scene. In the end what happened in this episode ? Nothing. Nopony learn anything new today really : the CMCs were already shown to doing things like they want to before and not always listen to adults even when they should to; RD, AJ and Rarity were all along familiar with the lesson of the episode and phrased it at the end like they knew it since the start... so they don't learn to step down sometimes, they already knew that. Oh and the humor was pretty terrible excepting Rarity flashback. I naver had seen an intro sequence so bad and so desperetly unfunny since... wow... I don't even know the last time the humor feel to felt flat like that... In conclusion, a terrible episode that I will soon forget.
  16. The real question about a Celestia episode is... what could really be a Celestia episode ? Maybe some writters want to write one but don't find any plot and moral which can be tied in a regular episode. Luna has some traits, a past and can be given a purpose in a story : she was once a vilain, regret what she did, was gone for a long time, travel throught the dreams and as such there is a lot of episode possibility with her since she as moral struggle from her past and thanks to that can also be a good mentor to the CMC in their dreams. Cadance has less personnality but has the dynamic with Shinning Armor going for her (which allow to make episode about her and her husband, and her baby, and her sister-in-law etc...). On the other hand... Celestia... Well she rules Equestria for long ago, is wise, can be a troll at time... But she's already a mature character who don't have a lot of struggle she didn't already deal with, a very clear position in Equestria, and a sharp mind. The only thing writters can do with her is about the pain she felt because she had to banish her sister on the moon. But we already have dealt with this in other episode accros the seasons : in some Luna's episode, but also here and there through lines spoke by Celestia... So we don't really need an other episode about that... So... I don't think a Celestia's episode can really happened because she is juste a complete character who doesn't have anything to learn, and was shown to be very good at teaching things at other ponies... What could the writters write about her ? :3
  17. I don't see the problem with Rarity portrayal in this episode. Of course she is an artist and know the concept of creativity and applies this concept in her work... But she's also a businessmare (?) and she was shown to follow trends in order to create dress (for example in Secret of my excess Rarity decided to make capes because of that she was thinking would have been trendy the next season) this is this side of her that was shown in the first part of this episode. Her idea was not bad in fact, it was pretty much natural for her to think this way. She knows that the food world of Canterlot is rule by Zest and that everypony listen to her advices... in fact we saw that ponies don't want to go the the restaurant because the critic didn't approve this restaurant. So it was natural for her to think that the best course of action was to make the restaurant be approved by Zest thus attracting clients. She was the only Mane 6 who could have been thinking like that, because she know that to success in what you do you must to be original but also to be appealing... and in this story it meant to be appealing to Zest...
  18. The convention one could be fun. For some episodes we hear that the Mane 6 are more and more considered like big shot due to their exploits in past episodes and not only Twillight but all of them. Maybe this episode take place in a convention with fans of the Mane 6 and we will see all of them dealing with fans, pressure and questions about all their adventures... And maybe Starlight could play a big role in this episode if her errors are leaked among the people in the convention. But most likely it will be a convention about Starswirl or Daring Do ^^ It would be fun to see Daring back in the show and being confronted by fans of her books. We saw the "Daring Do" side of her, maybe we will see how she act as "A.K. Yearling" I don't know, but for me there is three possibility for the convention, and I'm eager to see the episode... and if I was wrong
  19. Sweetie Belle. She has an interresting personality I think with some traits from Rarity, but as the show go she more and more detached herself from her sister to become a cool character on her own. She is the most calm and collected CMC and his often the voice of reason for the two others, even if usually they don't listen to her advices like in Most wanted, keep a little touch of drama queen and is hilarious in many circonstances. Plus I love her progression in magic these past seasons, it was a nice touch. Scootaloo is my second favorite. She has a cool personality, a cool relationship with RD and the fact she has a problem with her wings is a plotpoint I find very interresting. But in general she doesn't seem to do much in most of the episodes, she had two episodes for her what were good but in the other episodes she is she just... stand in the backround and talk a bit but is mostly overshadowed by SB and AB. Applebloom last. She has just the same problem as her sister... A personality is just so... plain. Sure she has problems and all, but in short she seems to be a young AJ and unlike Sweetie Belle I didn't see her change much and didn't see her become anything other than "The sister of AJ" for me. She has traits that she doesn't share with her big sister but in my head I strongly believe that it's just because AJ is more mature and had overcome theses problems like her impatience and her straightfoward nature... Yeah it's very subjective but... I don't see Applebloom as an interresting character... She is just plain and offer nothing really appart from being the leader of the CMC.
  20. After Season 5 I don't see how you can say what. Party Pooped, The Lost of Griffonstone and Amending Fences were episodes which showed the intelligence of Pinkie and that she isn't just a crazy pony like she pretends but work hard and has veritable skills in the areas of interrest for her. We can also count The Mane Attraction where she uses her connections to invite Rara, or The Cutie map in which she was one of the first to understand that something was wrong. Season 5 is clearly a season in which Pinkie was shown as something else than a "slapstick humor machine" u_u More than a genius, I think she is a light-hearted pony who work hard to make the people around her happy, and very competent in what she do even if sometimes she encounters problems. She also has some sorts of weird capacities because of her way of thinking which is totaly different from the others ponies, like her capacity to memorise all theses details about everyponies.
  21. Kinda like how Marble Pie is. It explains so much things about the relationship between Pinkie and Fluttershy. Pinkie is always very considerate about Fluttershy but can also go a little too far with her when she is not thinking through. And we see in Griffon the brush off that Pinkie act sometimes like a big sister for Fluttershy, even if Fluttershy doesn't act as Pinkie is her big sister. I don't think this is intetional, the author maybe not know about every episode, but for me it's clear that Pinkie see a lot of Marble in Fluttershy and act with her like she would act with her little sister :3...
  22. Is MLP overrated ? I think it's a matter of opinion. For me it's clearly one of the best shows (yeah shows) today who manage to continue to be true to his roots but in the same time try new things to widen his universe, the characters etc... And I can watch the episodes all day long if I want because I still enjoy the episodes, even the episodes from season 4 or 5 (not all of the episodes, but a big majority of them). It's really a matter of opinion since in the first page you talk about Adventure Time as a show you like, but for me Adventure Time is overrated and a total piece of garbage. So... With this in mind I don't really see the point of this topic. We are different people with different taste. Sometimes we can all agree on something really bad or something really good, but in this situation you can see that people love the show and other don't, so the question "Is MLP overrated" has no real answer. The only answer you can seek for is : "Some people like, some people don't. That is life." Concerning the "Is this a children show or not ?"... hum... It cleary was created as a kid show I think. Well... a rather strange kid show with some references a little to weird for kids and "Party of One" is clearly an episode which doesn't is a standard for kid show nowadays. I think the first season was created to appeal to kids, but also offer some little things to parents who watched MLP with their children. Now I don't really know... It's still a kid show yeah, and i always will be... But the authors are much more free about these parts for the adults than in the first season because they know that part of the public is made of grown-ups. But what we love avout the show is that it's a kid show with a little more, not that's is a pure grown-up show.
  23. It's clearly established in the episode that Twillight was sort of a best friend for Moondancer. Well... the best friend Moondancer could consider back then. It's not just a pony who didn't showed up for a party, but the pony she thought was the closest to her who didn't show up. The length of the episode was not sufficient enough to pull all of this but I think that's the message Larson tried to convey with the flashback of the school and the discussion between Twi and Moondancer about Haycarte. But that's just my opinion ^^ Regarding this episode... I deemed it at very good :3 I don't really cry but I find this slice of life episode very interresting and the pacing was spot on for the most part. The idea was great ! Moondancer being a Twillight who gave up on friendship at the same time our Twi embraced it was marvelous. The interractions between the two were touching and amusing at the same time. Yes, a very good episode o/ I didn't notice Starlight the first time I watched the episode, but it's also a very cool part of the episode. I wonder if she already showed up in early episodes... I don't think so but... maybe. It's sure what she will make a come back in a later episode, maybe before the final episodes... in the backround again... Starlight is really a good vilain : she's creepy and at the same time so normal. She brainwashed ponies and now she stalk Twillight for unknow reasons... I can't wait to see her again Oh and Pinkie ! Pinkie is a key character this season and confirm is big role in the confrery of friendship, almost like an ambassador like someone said after Party Pooped. As a Pinkie fan, I always loved her (even in season 4... yeah o/) but this season is on another level. Twillight even described her party planer as a "secret weapon" and of course it's only natural for the pony who live to make other ponies smile to have such a big part in this friendship quest. Of course I want to see other map episode where that is needed is other things than laughter... But I think it's for later episodes ^^ In short... A great episode
  24. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Pinkie Pie How did you find MLP Forums?: I search "Brony forum" and arrive here.Fascinating isn't it ? How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I'm a huge fan of cartoons and anime, so it was only natural to me to watch My little pony later or sooner. I began to watch MLP at the end of season 2 Hum... I'm french and not very good in english as you can see ('_') But I try my best to make clear sentences so don't be too harsh on me I'm 20, study maths and like to write and doodle some stories. Of course it's in french but I will try to do some stories in english. It will just take... longer than usual since I'm not used to write in english long stories ^^ I hope my imagination and my sexyness will counterbalance my lack in... all the other things
