  1. Personally, I think most fans have forgotten that this is a children's show. I see so many brownies saying an episode was too corny, had a bad plot, the conflict was resolved terribly, etc. MLP isn't entirely meant to be suitable for everyone. It was made for children, therefore, the staff works hard to make it enjoyable for children. Sure, they put in jokes and references adults would understand, but that's the extent of it. The show wasn't made just for bronies. It was made for children. A lot of people are being overly critical over a children's show made to feel toys.
  2. The show helps me in two ways. First, it serves as a distraction. When I need to escape reality for a while and enjoy something simple and positive, ponies help so much. Second, it helps me deal with whatever is bothering me. If there's an episode with a problem similar to mine, I can watch it and learn ways to solve my own problem. Sometimes when I'm trying to explain something to a friend or family member, and there's an episode relating to it, I can show them that episode, too, and help them understand what I'm trying to say. For example, my mom is always complaining that I want to be alone instead of hanging out with friends a lot of the time. Therefore, I showed her the episode , A Friend in Deed. In the end when Pinkie explains that some friends like to be left alone, it sort of was an eye opener for me mom. It's kinda sad how she didn't think of that before, but ponies helped anyway.
  3. Sadly, I don't think Hasbro will be making a whole of Sunset as a pony, mostly due to the fact that she was shown as a pony on-screen for just a few minutes. Most of the merchandise you'll find of her will be the EQG dolls. But if you are really this passionate about getting pony Sunset merch, I'm sure you'd probably be willing to commission one. Or if you're up to the challenge, make your own.
  4. I feel like these wouldn't be targeted necessarily to fans of FiM, but more towards collectors. I certainly would buy them, but quite a lot of people probably wouldn't.
  5. I think that the fandom is somewhat harsh on MLP's past. I mean, the older generations aren't the ponies we appreciate today, but without them, we wouldn't have FiM. The toys themselves were definitely higher quality than what we get today. They had more poses, for one thing. The shows and movies, however, I can understand not enjoying those. They don't have the best characterization and plots, but that's not what Habsro was focusing on. The toys were what they have always cared about. Even today's show was made to sell toys. Nothing has really changed other than the quality of the show.
  6. I sometimes watch G3 movies on Netflix when I'm bored. It's not FiM, but it isn't necessary bad.
  7. I thought a large majority of the fan base was already men... But I guess there will be dads that are taking their daughters to see it, and will need to be entertained, too. In that case, Hasbro has already done that in the show. They designed it to be watchable for the parents, too. If they don't like it, then that's their problem.
  8. I myself am a Christian, and I fail to see how that relates to being a fan of MLP. Religion and ponies don't exactly have anything in common...? But in all seriousness, I don't let religion affect how I feel about people. If I were to meet a brony who was atheist, I simply wouldn't care. Their beliefs have nothing to do with me. I already have a friend who is atheist, but not a brony, and that doesn't change anything about our friendship.
  9. I was also amazed. My only complaints were that the 2016 Rainbow Dash looks a little weird in the eyes, and the 2015 Apple Jack has an odd looking face. Other than. That, I absolutely love them. Especially the newest Pinkie.
  10. Well, I honestly don't mind seeing older stuff on store shelves. I'm a big collector, and when I can't buy everything at once and need to go back another time, it's really helpful seeing older merch still for sale. I'm still trying to complete the Cutie Mark Magic blind bag wave, and since my local Wal-Mart still has them, I'm able to keep getting the ones I'm missing.
  11. I've only gotten one duplicate, but only because the set it was in came with two other figurines I wanted. I already have a blind bag Rainbow Dash, but the set also included Gilda and a Wonderful pony, both of which were blind bags I've been on the hunt for. I just gave the Rainbow Dash in it to my sister.
  12. Whatever it is, I love how the face is sculpted. It seems somewhat better than the average pony brushables and blind bags.
  13. I prefer the Funko Vinyls. I only have Twilight, whom I found still in box at a flea market in January. I don't hate the MyMoji's as other people seem to, and I might purchase some when I find them, but I don't think they're anywhere near the vinyls.
  14. For me, it's more about which pony I'm getting, regardless of what pose they're in. Sure, I like dynamic poses once in a while, but being someone who likes seeing my ponies lined up in order on my shelves, I prefer static poses to make it look more unified. Even my blind bag ponies are arranged by with mold they're on, minus the Mane 6.
  15. Nowadays, I'm actually having a harder time finding pink Celestia toys. I've seen just a few over the past two years.
  16. On my Build-a-Bear ponies, I wet their hair and flat iron on the lowest setting possible. If you do this, make sure you use a metal plated iron, not ceramic. Ceramic plates get too hot and melt the hair almost instantly even on the lowest setting. And work fast, because even with a metal plated iron on the lowest setting, going too slow can melt the hair. You might need to do this multiple times over several days to let the hair cool after each attempt. I'm still in the process if fixing Twilight's bangs.
  17. The only pet peeve I have is when the show gets a little corny with the plots and dialogue. Yeah, I understand it's a kids show and all, but it has been proven to be a lot more mature than it sometimes is.
  18. A friend of mine has the PS4, while I have an Xbox One. When I compare the two, I prefer the Xbox One much more than the PS4 in terms of navigation. The Xbox is just easier to navigate. When I first got it after not having a gaming console for several years, I was able to figure it out almost instantly. While with the PS4, I'm still trying to figure it out when I'm with my friend. It's just too confusing for my liking.
  19. I wasn't planning on seeing it in the first place. But I do think that some people are overreacting about all this. It's just another reboot. Some are good, some are bad. Boycott it all you want, but there will still be some people who want to see it regardless of the drama. Can't stop them. I honestly just didn't even care the moment I heard this was coming out. I'm not interested in seeing it as it's not the type of movie I normally see anyway.
  20. A lot of toy-exclusive ponies are just recolored versions of the Mane 6. This was happening even before the game was released. I don't think there's any special reason behind it other than to save time coming up with new vectors for ponies that aren't in the show. Much of the blind bag cards are the same way. It doesn't mean anything.
  21. I'd like to see Hasbro release special ponies for the anniversary, like they did with G3. Maybe the Mane 6 with special designs all over their bodies? I'm almost positive that's how they did it with G3.
  22. The pony itself is a normal brushable stripped of its mane and tail. I basically repainted it and sculpted the mane using air dry clay. She took me about a week to make partly because I forgot about her.
  23. Well, I probably wouldn't show MLP in the first place. Hardly any students would actually appreciate it, even though they'd probably be on their phones the whole time. But if I had no choice, I'd put on Swarm of the Century. I'm in school, I see many students ignore a classmate's correct answer just because they're deaf, blind, has special needs, etc. I feel like kids these days need to realize that the answers they need can come from where they least expect it, and just because someone acts or looks different, it doesn't mean they aren't smart.
  24. I've never once been offended by MLP. Not even close to it. I honestly thought my sister, who also loves the show and suffers from terrible social anxiety, would be offended by Fluttershy being portrayed as weak and helpless many situations. Nope. My sister actually loves Fluttershy to death, saying she relates to her so much. The show isn't trying to offend anyone. It's the public that wants to stir up commotion saying something is politically incorrect when really there's nothing wrong with it.
  25. Well, my family began to realize I had an interest in MLP on by birthday a couple years ago when I wanted a Rainbow Dash from Build-a-Bear. A couple months later, I finally began watching the show and they didn't really seem to care. They knew I was going through a difficult time due to my torn ACL and they realized I needed something light-hearted to get me through the recovery. After I recovered and was back to normal, they went through a period of time when they said I was getting too old for ponies, although they never brought it up much. Now whenever my mom takes me shopping at a flea market and I'm looking for ponies, she actually says "Toy alert" when she sees a booth selling toys, especially ponies. It's pretty fun, actually. Both my parents now are showing an interest in getting to know the show since I love it so much.
