mega thread What game are you playing right now?
A Small Bear replied to Mint Petal's topic in Media Discussion
OSRS I like to play this game AFK while watching MLP. -
I have a really specific preference of A&W from Canadian A&W stores. Otherwise I like Sioux City Sarsaparilla.
-
Well, yes in the sense that very occasionally I'll have a root beer. Answering no to the poll though, since I typically only drink water and beer.

I like it as a place to visit and spend a week or so with family, the actual city is a conservative hell hole though and I've been harassed more for being trans here than when I lived in Texas. At least Texans are a bit more tolerant and try to keep more to themselves. I miss that place.

Which is your Favorite Season Premiere?
A Small Bear replied to Odyssey's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
That's all well and good but that's a conclusion you have to come to and justify on your own. The language and symbolism used in the episode quite explicitly demonizes equality and never outright praises it, it's never really said or implied that Starlight didn't create a properly equal society or that her idea of equality was wrong. The way I see it, I feel like the episode depicted a very uninteresting, base-level dystopia that upholds values such as "equality", "freedom", and "harmony". You could argue that since other episodes place such a heavy emphasis on the importance of harmony, equality (like harmony) was depicted as being misrepresented, but I'd argue the episode never really makes that very clear. -
How Many Countries Have you Ever Visited in your life?
A Small Bear replied to Inactive01's topic in General Discussion
Only the U.S. and Canada, but I do have a bucket list of places I'd like to visit. Mexico, Chile, and Brazil to name a few. -

Try to forget about passing. It isn't what makes you valid, and if you think you WON'T pass then you're only doing harm to yourself by worrying about it so much. Confidence and happiness is much more important than passing. And if you do REALLY want to pass, (which is fine as long as you don't worry about it in an unhealthy way), then putting in effort is a lot more important than transitioning at a younger age. Work on your makeup, work on your wardrobe, work on your voice, take care of your skin, and that'll make a lot more of a difference than you starting your transition a few years younger.

When you grow up. That doesn't necessarily mean reaching a certain age.

Don't get it in your head that it's ever "too late" to start transitioning. Not everyone can be Kim Petras. Don't let that stop you from living your best life. I'm almost 22 and I didn't start hormones until a few months ago.

gaming Your 'go-to' video games for relaxing?

Dark Souls 2, actually. It's one of my favorite games when I just wanna lean back and play something and lose track of time. -
What type of person do you find the most annoying?
A Small Bear replied to FatalRain's topic in General Discussion
Very politically opinionated people. I say this as someone who IS politically opinionated. I like having a nice chat now and then about politics, I don't really mind Kanye vocally supporting Trump or Kaepernick taking a knee for those fallen to police brutality, what I do mind is when folks can't seem to let go of their opinions for a minute and just enjoy life. Think of it this way: Politics is like a car wreck, dreadful, agonizing, misery, but it's interesting to look at and talk about. Sometimes for your own personal health you need to stop looking at car wrecks and try to enjoy life, but sometimes, people like this like to drag the mangled body out of the wreck to show you when you're trying to mind your own business. Speaking of which, this thread feels a bit car wreck adjacent. I feel like you're misunderstanding a lot about liberals or socialists here. Liberals aren't socialists, socialists aren't liberals, and neither are interested in taking anyone's basic human rights away. You basically just created a straw man so you could get angry at people with different political opinions. -

Which is your Favorite Season Premiere?
A Small Bear replied to Odyssey's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
It's a tough choice, but I'm actually gonna have to say Friendship is Magic, less because I actually found the episode(s) entertaining and more because I have a lot of respect for them in how they set up and kicked off the show. I'm actually much more of a finale gal. I don't think I particularly ENJOY any of the premieres, at least not the ones I've seen. -
Over easy if served with toast and some kind of meat. Otherwise, I like them in a scramble with chorizo spam, onions, green peppers, and plenty of sriracha or tapatio

mega thread The state of the Brony fandom (Numbers, Popularly, Future)
A Small Bear replied to Skar's topic in Sugarcube Corner
The fandom will never die. At least not until the last fan dies off. It certainly will be fairly small and sad a few years down the line but I think (and hope) that in 20, maybe even 30 years, there'll still be people reminiscing about that show about colorful cartoon ponies they watched when they were younger. Even gen 1 still has something of a fanbase. -
This is kinda a loaded question. Both are very important I think. Order is necessary to protect freedom and freedom is necessary for people to want to uphold order. I think I'll put my vote on order since I do like the safety that a decently run government provides, but I do think personal freedom is very important.

Why are Pony Makers so frowned upon?
A Small Bear replied to Sazama Ichida's topic in Sugarcube Corner
If you wanna make a pony OC and aren't all that artistically inclined, I suppose there's not necessarily anything totally wrong with using a pony maker, but to say you can hardly tell the difference is a bit of a stretch, and using a pony OC maker can be seen as kind of effortless. That said, of course, I'd much rather see a hundred pony maker OCs than a hundred people requesting free art which takes time and effort. -
Rewatching all of MLP from season 1. Decided instead of picking up where I'd left off, I'd try to refresh my memory. Aside from that, Aggretsuko's new season and I'm probably gonna work on my anime backlog after this.

In your opinion, what was the worst episode of MLP?
A Small Bear replied to PaulBron's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I actually recently re-watched all of the episodes up until midway thru season 7 and I'm keeping a list of my favorites and least favorites as I go along. I'd say my least favorites from each season so far are Feeling Pinkie Keen, Dragon Quest, One Bad Apple, Power Ponies, The Cutie Map, Newbie Dash, and All Bottled Up Edit: Actually, dishonorable mention for SoL in season 5. Dunno if I'd call it my least favorite overall but I certainly won't give it any credit. -
