  1. Sisterhooves Social, by far. I liked Best Night Ever, mostly for the already mentioned reasons, but Sisterhooves Social... Let's just say, I can relate to Sweetie Belle and Rarity's relationship far more than I'd like to admit. It's also the only episode that almost made me cry completely. The moral hit it really hard for me. Anyone with siblings should agree. Of course, both Rarity and Sweetie Bot-I mean Belle-were awesome in this episode, and overall it was a really funny, heartwarming episode with great character development.
  2. Whenever I'm asked this question, I only include the 52 Disney movies that are actually made in Walt Disney Animation Studios. I love Pixar (All Toy Story movies, WALL-E and Up have to be some of my favorite movies ever), but I don't really count them as "Disney" movies. Fantasia- So many tend to forget this movie. I actually just recently watched it for the first time, and I was blown away. It's just gorgeous, and such an achievement for Disney and a technological advancement that influenced most of Disney's movies. Cinderella- This is one of the few Disney movies where I think I appreciate it more as an adult. It's visually stunning, and Cinderella is actually a better princess than most give her credit for. Lady and the Tramp- It's just really cute and charming, and one of my favorites from when I was little. The Great Mouse Detective- Another movie I watched when I was older, I was surprised by how entertaining and witty it was and how great the acting was. Somewhat underrated. Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King- I'm just not going to give these ones separate sections. Why do I need to justify loving these movies so much if everyone else has already gushed so much about them? Hunchback of Notre Dame- My favorite Disney movie ever. The BEST Disney music, a scary villain, awesome characters (except the Gargoyles), breathe-taking animation, a darker plot and theming... I can live with those Gargoyles being in the movie (they were indeed annoying) but everything else in this movie just blows other Disney movies out of the water. Tarzan- It's a just really well-done take on the original story with some of Disney's best animation. Lilo and Stitch- The Hawaiian culture, sister relationship, action and charm make this one of my favorites. Stitch is adorable. Tangled- It's actually a really smart take of an over-told fairy tale, which I appreciate. Also, it's gorgeous and really emotional at times. Winnie the Pooh (2011)- Didn't know this existed? It was released at the same time as the last Harry Potter movie, so it was basically doomed to fail. This movie had to be the most nostalgic hour of my life. It's funny, smart, has great voice acting, amazing animation, and is horribly underrated (it also doesn't help that it was wedged between Tangled and Wreck it Ralph on Disney's lineup list.) Best animated movie of 2011 by far. Just take 69 minutes of your time and watch it. Wreck it Ralph- This movie was just awesome. I can't even describe why I like it so much. I was geeking out after saw it.
  3. Fluttershy. This is easy. She's adorable, she's the star of one of my favorite episodes (Hurricane Fluttershy), she's shown great character development in that episode plus Keep Calm and Flutter On (for once, a Fluttershy episode that doesn't focus on her social anxiety), she's kind, her voice actress is awesome, she has an amazing singing voice... Um...she's definitely improved since the first season, I guess? -_- That's not saying much, really.
  4. I'm into Adventure Time, and I like reading fanfics and looking at fanart, but I don't really interact with the fandom nor am I as into it as MLP. I just really, really love the cartoon. Quality wise, it's by far my favorite currently airing cartoon. There is some neat fan content, but it also helps that I have friends off of the internet which share my love for the show and we talk about it, rather than with MLP I have to go online to interact with other fans. I kind of am getting into the Littlest Pet Shop fandom. The show is enjoyable enough, but I particularly like seeing people's fanart's and reactions to episodes. And of course, critiquing it. Again, it also helps that there are loads of Bronies in the fandom who had only heard about the show because it was compared to MLP. Before MLP, I was really into the Disney fandom. Heck, it was because of the Disney fandom I was actually introduced to MLP in the first place. By Disney, I'm primarily talking about the animated movies here. I used to be on a forum for them and everything. I still talk about their movies, follow Disney Tumblrs and get excited for their upcoming movies (Wreck it Ralph basically renewed my love once again), but I'm not into it as much as I was in 2009-2010. Actually, if there was a general "animation" fandom, I'd probably be part of that. Aside from anything already mentioned, I don't think I'm really in any other fandom. I guess anything Nintendo, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and Gravity Falls would count. I'm currently watching Community on Netflix. I'm only three episodes in and I can tell I'm going to be in this fandom.
  5. I'm so sorry for making this joke, but once again- Corey Powell is best Rainbow Dash writer. If you don't get what I mean by that, it can still be taken literally. On the serious side of things, this has to be my favorite non-mane 6 episode. The only negative thing I can say about is that it's Corey Powell's last episode. Why must the best writers leave after a single season?
  6. Don't you think you're being too judgmental of fanfictions as a whole? You're acting as though all fanfictions include those five traits, when really not many do. You specifically say "pony fanfiction" as if it can be all lumped together. Considering the vast amounts of genres and subgenres, maybe you should reword what you're trying to say so that you're not talking about fanfictions as a whole. Most fanfics I read have really good plots, the mane 6 are excellently in character and have OCs that are not Mary Sues. Clopping is avoidable, and I don't judge anyone who writes/reads it. If I have one nitpick about SOME fanfictions, it is when authors try too hard to please their audience. For example, completely changing the plot because people in the comments didn't like when it was going, despite that the author really liked it. Also, when old original plots/subjects/cliches keep on being brought up. I'm looking at you, Human-in-Equestria/Ponies-on-Earth.
  7. Oh yes, the comic. It looks like she's getting loads of character development in that too, which is a welcome sight. Also, Nightmare Moon is set to return in the comic eventually as well. I do think that it would be kind of awesome to see the Changelings being incorporated into the show again though, even if just as a gag or something.
  8. The backgrounds. Just look at at this- Now that doesn't even look like it was for a flash cartoon. Just look at the tiny details and the shading. It almost looks like a painting. Also, I love the characters movement. Even simple movements such as a character stomping a hoof or a pegasus flying look stylized and masterful. It's even more amazing when characters are doing things that are more complex. Finally, I love the 3D effects. It first hit me in Putting Your Hoof down during this scene- -but truly, it wasn't the first time in the show they seemed to be experimenting with this sort of stuff. For example, this scene in Return of Harmony part 1- Just the overall angling and camera movement during these scenes are excellent art details. Sombra and the Timberwolves in SayS were excellent ways to show how far the show has gotten when incorporating kind of "3D-ish" effects.
  9. Suited for Success is one of my favorites of season 1 by far. It's basically one of the episodes that made me love the show. The first time I watched this episode I was in a situation where I was really stressed out and overworked. Therefore, the moral really hit it spot on for me, and seeing how much I could relate to Rarity in a similar situation made Rarity instantly one of my favorite ponies, and she still is number 1. Everything in this episode was top notch, the music, the animation during the fashion show sequence, Rarity getting awesome character development... Best of season 1? Best of season 1. Sweet and Elite on the other hoof is probably my least favorite Rarity episode. Every aspect just doesn't seem as good as Suited for Success. I didn't like the song as much, the ending/moral seemed really forced and Rarity just didn't shine in it like she did in any of her other episodes.
  10. Yup. Don't ask me to prove it. <_< TPAM identifies/relates strongly with their favorite pony
  11. Littlest Pet Shop. Some of the episodes like Gailbreak, Books and Covers or Eve of Destruction are near MLP quality. Sure, I find Blythe a bad main character and I hate how the Biskit Twins are categorized as "villains" (while really, they just seem to have really bad social problems and don't know how to make friends. They have yet to do anything really "awful" aside from being mean to Blythe, and even that was because Blythe refused to be their friend. See? Really bad social problems.) Also, the characters are really funny, and I like Sunil, Minka and Vinnie as characters as much as I like any of my favorite ponies. It's less moral focused (although they try) and more humor focused than MLP as well, and I could see it being directed at a slightly older target audience. The music's decent, although I have yet to hear anything from the show that reaches MLP quality levels (despite that the same guy does the music.) Finally, the show is basically filled with references that only adults would get. Off of the top of my head, things like James Bond, Michael Jackson, horror movies, Twilight fans, quite a few musical numbers...okay, a lot. I swear, there's more references to other things in LPS in 12 episodes than MLP had in 52 episodes/2 seasons. As I live in Canada, it's almost impossible for me to watch anything else. Animaniacs was basically my childhood, if that counts.
  12. Too Many Pinkie Pies was pretty funny and showcased some great animation and character development for Pinkie. This episode was essentially to season 3 what Lesson Zero was to season 2-an episode to showcase the characters we know and love and have a fun, silly episode right after the epic two-parter. I could give some flak to the plot and pacing issues (Pinkie's total identity crisis seemed...off) but since it's a Pinkie episode, I can just disregard that. I don't think it's the funniest Pinkie Pie episode either, and I just found it kind of boring. I can instantly give points to Crystal Empire for having some of the highest production values the show has had thus far. The animation and the music (the Success Song/Failure Song reprise was awesome) were top notch. Seriously though, DAT ANIMATION. The overall look of the Crystal Empire, Sombra and the cool stairs sequence were among the many things that amazed me about the animation. It was also very funny, and I thought that the plot was paced somewhat better than any other two parters. King Sombra was actually a fine villain. He was scary and was a good "roadblock" for Twilight's journey. Just because a villain doesn't talk or show off doesn't make a villain any less of a scary villain. Besides, as I said, he was only a roadblock for Twilight's journey. Unlike the other show's villains, the story wasn't centered on defeating him. It was centered on Twilight's test and protecting the Empire. If he actually got sufficient screentime, the story wouldn't be about Twilight anymore and the point of the episode would be lost. Overall, I really liked Crystal Empire and it disappoints me to see that people hate on it just because of Sombra (well guess who missed the entire point of the episode). I just feel more work was put into Crystal Empire, and although it's not perfect (and neither is Too Many Pinkie Pies, mind you), I'm just going to help it by voting for it. It's going to lose anyway.
  13. Maybe Cadance just didn't want him at the wedding. Considering how big of a jerk he is, I wouldn't be surprised. Besides, we have no clue how he's related to her anyway. They may hardly know each other, despite that they're both royalty...somehow.
  14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2G6SR0TYlWw Why am I relating so much to Zecora/Mandopony? Seriously, the allusions between the two of them are kind of obvious, and I believe he had a big problem with people bullying him about it. Either way, I love this song, and it gave me happy tears. Aviator's music always makes me feel somewhat emotional, and I believe someone already mentioned Friendship, but as well as that, Monster (which, I based all of my Celestia/Discord headcanons off of) , Fear of Flight, One Hearth's Warming Eve and If You Only Knew may have got me a bit. I can't believe I nearly forgot Great to be Different. That's the only song from the fandom so far that's actually made me cry a bit. Happy tears, but I still cried. For the full effect, I'd recommend hearing Forest Rain's story behind the song at the beginning of the video first. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN9RN_3HbWo Even sweeter is that according to the top Brony songs of 2012 livestream that Everfree Radio did, he found and started dating the girl who gave him the "letter from Derpy" after he released the song.
  15. I liked Return of Harmony mostly due to Discord (although to be honest, it's kind of shallow to like an episode just because of a character it introduced), Flutterb-I mean jerk, and Twilight's heartwarming realization about how much she truly needed her friends when she reread all of her friendship lessons. However, Canterlot Wedding took the epicness and emotional aspect of Return of Harmony and just ran wild with it. Although it's much more serious and had a more generic villain than Return of Harmony, is that necessarily a bad thing? It suited the very Disney-ish tone, and overall it had to be one of the best episodes for me on an emotional scale. This Day Aria gave me chills, and had to be one of the best voice acting moments in the show for me (her voice actress' singing was so believable and so full of emotion, and made me instantly like and sympathize for Cadance). The action had to be the best this show has had so far as well. This is seriously one of my favorite episodes, and I could rant on and on about it, but basically yeah. It's awesome.
  16. 8/10 Ninja'd I guess 9/10 again?! (the loop couldn't be smooth, or else the file would've been too big for my avatar. It's still better than my original avatar attempt where I just reduced all of the colors.)
  17. May the Best Pet Win is awesome, mostly due to the song and the climax. Fluttershy seemed a bit out of character completely letting Rainbow put her pet choices in danger but that was basically my only nitpick. Cutie Mark Chronicles however is by far my favorite season 1 episode. Not only because of the adorable fillies, but we also got background story moments and some of my favorite lines in the whole show- "And that's how Equestria was made!" "You'd never guess, but when I was little I was very shy. And a very weak flyer." "A ROCK?! That's my destiny?! What is your problem, horn? I followed you all the way out here for a ROCK?!" Also the ending was adorable and made perfect sense. "And that's how my vote was made!"
  18. Oh Pony Creator. We meet again. I actually made myself when I was new to the fandom for the laughs and swore I was never going to share it. Whatever. Really, she looks nothing like me aside from the gender, the curly mane, freckles and the glasses. But, I tried, which is hard to do with Pony Creator. I really wish it'd be updated with more recent stuff. I forget what the cutie mark represents. Writing, maybe? Gee, I wonder what I was thinking when I made this in September 2011. I like the official pony creator at http://www.hubworld.com/my-little-pony/shows/friendship-is-magic/games/mlpfim-ponymaker better, mostly due to the shear amount of costume options. I tried making myself at that too. I feel like I did somewhat better (aside from the glasses), I have no clue what my name would be, so I found a pony name generator and picked one at random. Evening Dusk it is.
  19. This episode was hilarious, and has to be one of the funniest episodes by far. Rarity freaking about her dress was the funniest Rarity moment so far of the season (although it wouldn't be if Rarity got her own episode <_< )and John De Lancie just killed it. Also, I d'awww-ed at the ending. However, at the same time. it was extremely rushed. I get reforming Discord over a season, and checking back on him maybe every episode, but in a single episode... Heck, even in a two parter it would feel rushed. You can't just turn the show's most iconic villain bad-to-good in one or two episodes. That's not how character development works. <_< It just seemed like an episode that wasn't planned out very well on paper so the writer just seemed to wing it. It's basically the first episode where I was a bit confused about the plot, mostly because everything happened so quickly. Besides, what were Celestia's true intentions? She told the mane 6 that she wanted to reform Discord, but why? I seriously hope this is addressed this season or else there will be chaos. I really can't sum up all of my thoughts right now, Too much was crammed into this episode. I'm extremely split on my feelings. This will definitely be a "love-it-or-hate-it" kind of episode.
  20. It's About Time was hilarious and Twilight was great, but the plot itself didn't make much sense (why did Twilight have to go back in time in the first place? Think about it and how many time loops there must be.) which kind of ruined my enjoyment for it a tad bit. Luna Eclipsed was funny and brought a character back in a way that made everyone happy (which truly is saying something in a fandom this big.) Luna brought a very interesting and somewhat relatable conflict to the story, and it was done excellently. Also, ponies in costumes is too adorable and the overall atmosphere of the episode was really well done. *Notices Luna Eclipsed is winning 16-4.* "Huzzah! The votes have been quadrupled!!!"
  21. MA Larson actually confirmed on his Twitter that the title never was "Princess Coronation". Therefore, the title probably always was what it is now. It's like how Canterlot Wedding isn't called "Royal Wedding" despite the fact that advertisements called it a Royal Wedding. There may be a princess coronation in the episode, and that's how they're going to try and advertise it and sell toys around it probably.
  22. Sonic Rainboom... <_< Lets just say I don't care about this episode as much as everyone else seems to. I hated Rainbow Dash back in season 1. Even now that I like her, my opinion hasn't really changed. I find it boring (aside from the climax) and find it annoying that they basically demolished all of the character development Rarity had gotten at that point. Some pretty world-building, but I'm not a huge fan of it. Winter Wrap Up was essentially the episode that made me join the fandom, just due to the song alone. There are also some hilarious moments and Twilight trying to fit in is relatable. So, of course, my vote goes to Winter Wrap Up. ...and Sleepless in Ponyville got beat out again. I get Magic Duel beating it, but why Best Night Ever?! No, I don't have a Gamefaq account, but I'd make one if it was necessary.
  23. Hunger Games? They have loads of cosplayers (how many people went out as Katniss for Halloween this year?), music, parodies, fanfics (mostly of the self-insert variety) and very devoted fan members. Also, a lot of massive Marvel/DC comic book fanbases. Batman and the Avengers are big ones, as well as X-Men. Aside from MLP, I'm also a member of the Disney and Adventure Time fandoms. Although I wouldn't call Adventure Time the "biggest" fandom, it sure has a lot of creative content, and is one of the bigger currently airing cartoon fandoms (maybe second or third place with MLP on top). The Disney fandom in general (mostly the animated movies) is massive, and seems to have a huge presence everywhere, among all ages and demographics (although mostly female).
