The Mane six voices

Has anypony noticed that the mane six's voice actresses have been sounding a bit different and deeper?

I honestly thought they got replaced, but they still have the originals.

Rarity is least changed, but Pinkie and Fluttershy have the most changed. (Maybe Twilight, I don't know.)

Thank god I'm not the only one who noticed this.

Me and my friend were watching the It's About Time episode and I swear Twi's voice and Spike's had gotten considerably deeper.

Perhaps they're using new recording software or maybe the voice actors have suddenly all been injected with testosterone.

Yeah I noticed it too in It's about Time. It sounded like they only did one take and it wasn't up to par with the stellar voice acting we are accustomed to.

Twilight sounded a little different in the time travel episode but that's all I noticed, maybe the voice actresses were having a bad day or something.

Just a side effect of having voiced them for a while, I think. People's voices tend to change a bit when doing voice work, as the actor gets more used to the role. Since the actresses are all adults, the changes should be minor at best. Not to mention that people's voices might change slightly when tired or sick, and changes in recording software and hardware will have slight effects as well.

Voice actors will tend to adjust over time. Sometimes they change nominally; other times the voices undergo a greater alteration. The best example of this I can immediately think of is Kevin Murphy, who voiced Tom Servo on MST3K. He replaced Josh Weinstein, who left the show after the first season, and subsequently attempted to emulate his Servo voice which, if I recall correctly, was deeper. Ultimately, Murphy adopted his own cadence and mannerisms for the character.

I interpreted Twilight's voice change as associated with the stress of Future Twilight, who had been awake for several days and overwhelmed by the prospect of a doomsday scenario. Her voice then was noticeably deeper than Twilight's standard tone. Otherwise, I haven't noted much of a distinct difference. Maybe I just haven't been paying close attention.

I watched It's About Time and Lesson Zero back to back and Twilight's voice is the same in those two episodes because of how Twilight freaks out and is under stress. When you compare those two episodes to the rest of the episodes where Twilight is calm and fine, it's a different voice. I think that makes Twilight's character become even deeper.

Twilight did sound different the first time I saw "Its about time" But hey, I like it when they do that. Making the voices deeper/more mature. Its like Finn from Adventure Time. He had a dramatic difference in voice in one episode.

Yeah I have noticed this, Pinkie's voice is deeper then it was in the earlier episodes. But I'm fine with it, so it doesn't matter. It's not a huge difference after all.

I'm pretty sure that Twilight is voiced by someone else in the "Its about time" episode.

There's no indication that Tara Strong was absent from the voice recording; she is pretty clearly voicingTwilight from the present. As I said, I think she dropped into a deeper tone for Future Twilight in order to convey her stress and "post-apocalyptic future" parody.

There is another voice actor that has played Twilight in the past. It was on IMDB.

No, I haven't noticed anything...

If so, I would blame it on growing up... don't some people need to grow up?

AJ's voice sounded deeper in "Ponyville Confidential". I'm curious as to whether Ashleigh is intentionally altering her voice or not.

Some of the voices have sounded different in a few episodes. For Twilight, as pointed out, it's primarily a change adopted by Tara Strong intentionally to capture Twilight's mood at the time.

As for others, it's hard to say...certainly Rarity sounds a bit different at times in Ponyville Confidential, and Rainbow Dash and Applejack have both occasionally sounded off, but...on the whole the voices still sound pretty much the same throughout the series as far as I can tell.

I didn't honestly notice a difference. All and all the Voice acting I thought was amazing, and I loved every bit of it.
