Something I Realized About Anti-Bronies

Is how big of hypocrites some of them can be.

 

For example, they will say that bronies are butthurt, and then they will get even more butthurt if someone even brings up mlp, or has a pony avatar.

 

They will say they hate mlp because it's for little girls, and then go worship other forms of media meant for children (mario, Pokemon, classic cartoons, Transformers, Disney, etc.) 

 

They will say they hate it when bronies force the show down the throats, and then they will go to a pony video, and type something like "This sucks!" or, "This is for little girls, stop watching it!"

 

They will say bronies can't accept opinions when they aren't respecting bronies opinions of mlp

 

That's all I have to say!

Raising the point of this hypocrisy will make them bring up the counter argument that those other intellectual properties are designed to be watched by a wider audience and MLP isn't/wasn't. Whether that is true is up for more intense debate by some. I would say that it doesn't matter either way.

 That, and they're generally hostile, even to themselves. Like back when I was one I had this one friend on Steam with a pony avatar and other anti-bronies on Steam kept giving me shit because of it and because I wasn't screaming at him for having a pony avatar for the reason that he's my friend. Ultimately, I valued friendships over a disjointed group of people who can't come up with better arguments than 12-year-olds on Xbox Live and decided "Fuck this, I'm leaving."

Anti-bronies mostly lack the logic with their opinions, when they use the same repetitive insults to come back at us it is better to block them out since their words are deaf on my ears. So, it's better to leave well enough alone.

Well, most "anti-bronies" I have encountered were trolls just doing it to piss people off. They normally go for lowest common denominator insults in order to make sure that they find some emotional grounds, and are thus insulting. So while they may hate on bronies, they do it not to specifically oppose us, but because they know that many a brony is sensitive, and thus easy targets.

 

And a lot of the left over stigma is from when we forced ourselves onto the internet. When you get a sudden influx of new social groups like that, there is always going to be backlash and resistance.

 

But most anti-bronies are either trolls, so they do not care how fallacy riddled their arguments against us are, as their entire goal is to simply make us angry, or they are children who will find anything not "manly" to be offensive and worthy of insult.

But, in all seriousness, anti-bronies can be real fucking hypocrites. That doesn't even count the numerous times I've seen them have interests in OTHER stuff meant for girls

But, most of the time, they just insult us simply to get a rise out of us. Anti-bronies have actually gone down in numbers recently. The most "Anti-Bronies" I see are one-dimensional trolls that CAN only troll.

I'm often curious and ask people about mlp (and are they bronies and do they want to be bff's ) and the only real response that I got other than a blank look was my aunt guiltily saying, "nooooo.....I would NEVER be a brony....."

Speaking as an anti-brony, not all of them are that way. Some of them, mostly me, just found the whole idea silly. It didn't help when trolls came onto Team Fortress 2 servers & plastered the walls with R34 stuff, which drove plenty of people up a wall. At the time most people who were like me had no idea what was the largest denominator of the brony fandom, so when we see mostly perverted & disturbing imagery pumped out onto places we frequented, our response was that many bronies all followed this exact view. Therefore it turned off tons of people to the fandom & quickly made them into anti-bronies. After being here, I have come to tolerate the people who do enjoy a bit of R34 Twilight, but I have also come to figure out that this is not the majority of the fanbase, which I would say is probably mostly people who just enjoy the show. In fact, that is probably the only singular thing I can say is the majority rules within in this fandom. However I do admit that I felt it was stupid, but not in the sense of "it's for little girls" & "it's a show for morons" but more of the "but... nothing is happening... minus a disturbing feeling of having eaten skittles too quickly rising like bile in my throat." Yeah, that is how I would honestly respond after seeing the show. Now, after having joined this fandom, I honestly can withstand the seemingly boring exterior for the much funnier & more entertaining interior behind what I tell my friends (who don't know me as a brony, but do know me as that guy with a ton of brony friends & who watches any TV show no matter how bad it is at least once) is basically a slice-of-life-comedy show with technicolor candy horses

I shouldn't give any negative attention to anti-bronies or just anti-anything people, because they just want you to get mad and what not.

 

HOWEVER.  The thing that confuses me the most is how some of the more 'artistic' haters; like to draw the ponies getting horribly mutilated.  I've seen some FIMFiction groups that are "Be happy to be human! Yes the human race does bad things but you're not one of them." Blah blah blah.  I'm not disgusted of being human, but humans can be so confusing.  Why would they waste their time to draw such hatred? I don't understand it.

Like this one time I saw a person with a Sonic the Hedgehog saying that bronies were sick and twisted just because of the large amounts of Rule 34 that exists; and I'm just sitting there thinking "Dude, you like Sonic the Hedgehog. The way I see it is that I'm in my 30s.  Whether or not I watch sports, the news, Dr. Who, stand-up comedians, porn, Bob Ross, soap operas, music videos, or anything else is nobody's business but my own, and My Little Pony is no different.
