This is unreal. I seriously almost felt some liquid pride. Wellplayed, Daniel and Rebecca.

Says so much about the character of Sunset Shimmer and the Humane Six; it's not a stretch to say the first would've been Sunset Shimmer's defining moment in the movie if they had put it in. The second reaffirms Sunset's relationship with their friends, which would've been nice, especially after that awful running joke they decided to set up throughout the film, and Sunset's expense... we all know the one.  :okiedokielokie:

 

Not only that, it's legitimately better than pretty much every song in the movie proper. It's catchy, it's vibrant, Twilight looks amazing in that dress:

Basically, it's the best part of Rainbow Rocks to come out of Rainbow Rocks, for everyone involved. Not feeling too happy that they screwed us over on that, but at least we have it now, right? Right!

 

When I saw the new Sunny video I died....I am currently talking to you guys from the grave....and no their isn't any chocolate fountains here in heaven...

Here's a comedic, watered-down version, you'll get the gist.

Phase 1,    Power-Mad B   Shimmer, a stereotypical "that's [so-and-so], she owns the school" bully archetype all-too-common in HS dramas except this time she's secretly a magical talking pony from an alternate dimension, which sounds patently ridiculous sans-context and only slightly less ridiculous in-context.

Phase 2, reforming Shimmer to the side of good by fulfilling her values through friendship and ponies.

Phase 3, ????

Phase 4, PRO-I mean,    Reformed Shimmer.

I believe step 3 is the sacrifice, where the character is given the chance to prove she's truly changed, usually by rejecting the temptation to turn back to the dark side. Something like Sunset rejecting the chance to gain ultimate power because she doesn't want it anymore, or because it comes with destroying the elements, backstabbing Twilight, etc.

Sunset Shimmer turned from being a bad lady in the first movie to one awesome character! This is the Sunset Shimmer we all want to see! Both of those videos I saw made me like her even more now that her past is looooong gone. She's like a purified phoenix rising from the ashes inside a heart full of darkness. A bit like Celestia's pet, Philomena if you ask me.

 

Nevertheless, it's great to see her enjoying her new like in the other universe. If only we can get a chance to meet her.

Even though the banner is not up anymore, Sunset Shimmer will always be one of the best developed characters in Equestria. You know, every time I see her smile, I smile too. It looked like she's been taking lessons from Pinkie Pie.
