Moved to Elsewhere 11,331 January 9, 2015 Share January 9, 2015 Right now actually it's happening. In Illinois for the last few days, it has dropped to below freezing like 0 degrees with -20 degree wind chill. I got school canceled for 2 days because of it and today it hurt to go out to the bus stop due to fear of getting frostbite. I can handle a little snow as long as it's not icy kind of snow. But when it drops to this low in the temperature, get me out of here.
Throwaway19573639385 764 January 9, 2015 Share January 9, 2015 I live in Holland, the worst weather we usually have isn't the occasional storm, it's the never-ending rainy days. Especially from Autumn until mid-spring, it rains all the goddamn time, for weeks sometimes. Even when it stops in-between, it still doesn't have a chance to dry up at all before it rains again. IronM17 5,396 January 15, 2019 Share January 15, 2019 I would say European Windstorms. We also can have heavy Thunderstorms and even Tornados (but not so heavy than in the USA), but they Tornados are not the norm here (I only experienced one Tornado in my life). But European Windstorms are often a big problem here, especially in autumn and winter time.

Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,685 April 5, 2019 Share April 5, 2019 Indiana weather doesn't make any sense, that could be the worst aspect of it all. Some years during the spring we may get severe weather with possible tornadoes, other years we could get snow in April. Sometimes we have constant 60 degree (F) weather during the winter, other times we could get ice storms and tons of snow. Our severe weather season was once Spring, then it became Autumn for some reason and now we don't even know. That is basically the worst aspect, unpredictability. Ninja weather always lurking in the shadows, ready to strike us Hoosiers.

Our severe weather season was once Spring, then it became Autumn for some reason and now we don't even know. That is basically the worst aspect, unpredictability. Ninja weather always lurking in the shadows, ready to strike us Hoosiers. That sounds completely like Oklahoma. Except (in NE Oklahoma, anyway) we don't get real snow storms anymore, ever. It's been eight years. I've given up hope on it ever happening again. We really don't get much ice anymore, either. I haven't seen a significant sleet in who knows how long? The last time I even saw sleet at all was a couple of Springs ago. lol I miss sleet. It sounds so pretty when it falls. Autumns are generally peaceful here, though. Last year was an exception, where we had tornadic storms on the last day of November. It was complete and utter bull. I was putting up a winter solstice tree and had to turn on the TV to make sure my house wasn't going to get destroyed by a tornado. >.> They all went east. But it was very eerie, because late November is probably one of the least likely times for a tornado to ever happen here, because by the end of November, we've essentially moved on from autumn and now it's winter. To watch the weather people doing their storm chasing during that time of year, when it's supposed to be peaceful and we shouldn't have anything to worry about was so bizarre. Gosh darn it, that feels like just yesterday, that we were going into winter and I was so happy. That time passed in the blink of an eye and now we're back to the most dreadful part of the year. ='( It's not fair how fast winter flies by (nor is it fair that winters suck where I live, so I never get my fill).
