Can you sing in foreign languages?

If I have a lyrics sheet in front of me, I'm certain I can pull out some pretty good German/Latin/Spanish. But without that sheet, I'd need to sing that song non-stop for nearly a full week, since that the usual limit for me to remember my English sea shanties. I might be able to squeak out a Swedish/Danish song if I get even more practice at it, given my small amount of practice in those languages.

Barely fluent in any of them, but I generally know my pronunciation rules, if not the actual words :P

I once sang in Japanese, Korean, Spanish and French. Mediocrely okay, I suppose.

I can sing quite well in Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese, because mum is HK chinese + I live in HK + I watch TVB + Come Home Love is actually a good show... oh wait, this isn't the unpopular opinions thread...

Hey! So, this is just a random question that just popped into my head, but can you sing in a language which is not your native tongue/which you do not speak often?

As an Australian with Chinese descent, I can sing comfortably in English and Mandarin (but I am told I have a slight accent, which is bound to happen). I can also easily sing Japanese with no problem, and my friend thinks that's insanely cool because she can't do anything even remotely Japanese sounding, or any language other than English at that.

I wish I could sing in japanese

I can sing in Russian, Ukrainian, Swedish, Danish, Polish, French, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, and German. I don't know how easy Czech pronunciation is, but I'm interested in that, too.

I have a bit of a talent. I can sing in any language, if I hear the song. Even languages I've never heard before.

*gasps like Pinkie Pie*

I LOVE singing in foreign languages!  :pinkie:

We did it all the time in choir when I was in high school! We had songs in Latin, Italian, Spanish, German, Bulgarian and French.

French is super fun to sing in. The songs we did were tricky, but once you get it it's just awesome.  :yay:

I still remember quite a lot of the words from those songs, actually. Nothing like randomly bursting out into a choir song that no one around you understands.  :muffins:

I tried singing the Russian national anthem in Russian.... it was so bad I had to switch to English.... then I just stopped midway because their national anthem is very very long unlike America's which isn't that long

Yeah. I can sing in a lot of languages. I'm a very fast learner, so I do it without any problem at all.

I've sung in Japanese, Korean, German, Spanish, French, Norwegian and Italian.

I love being so flexible when it comes to languages. <3 I think it's easy-peasy.

No, but I'm such a horrible singer that it sounds like I am! LOL!

With enough practice, I can sing many things.

As an avid Anime junkie, of course I can sing in Japanese. ;D

But I'm super lazy, so I don't really put in the practice, much. D:

But my answer is still yes. I'm capable of singing in foreign languages.

Hmm.... Let's see, Thai if I bothered to learn the right words, French (are you sleeping? are you sleeping? etc. and one line of Let It Go), German (Bram's lullaby, Alla Mina Enchin), Japanese (Part of Let It Go), and Spanish (Let It Go again).
