What doesn't make sense is that AJ's letting Twilight help here to win a bet, so they're technically cheating. But in the next episode she won't let anypony help her when she really NEEDS help.

Hmmm, but maybe it's because she feels guilty that Big Mac got hurt. Yeah, it actually all fits.

. Zecora wasn't introduced into the show yet. And the bird was from the ending of Dragon Quest, the parents had their own nest, and with Philomena in the castle, I don't think she would have family in the Everfree forest.

Even if it was supposedly caused by the bet, I don't think AJ won. Those so called "Golden Delicious" apples that she and Twilight were carrying in Ticket Master when said bet was mentioned were the completely wrong color. Just throwing that out there.

I don't see how he could have gotten hurt in a girdle... unless it was some bizarre string of incredible accidents caused by wearing of said girdle. If he was they totally should have made an episode about it.

 

I imagine it was caused by some other farm/work related accident.
