Oh, God! I had a Faceborg friend like that a long time ago (I'm not even on Faceborg anymore.) I finally got so tired of it after they made an extreme comment of "like this or I'll die!" or something like that. I typed back, "Hope you enjoy the afterlife!" just before I unfriended and blocked them. Ack!

Mmmmmmmmm.............do you have a lifetime to read the list i could make?  I don't so I'll just say this, I kkep my facebook contacts to people i actually know in real life and speak with or contact on a daily or monthly basis, otherwise there's just no point for me.

 

Same here, I keep mine limited to either people I've meant in real life(friends, family, acquaintances and such) or people from fan-groups that I've talked to in-group enough to know they're not assholes.

I really don't like these "if you don't repost this than you are worse than Hitler" BS glorified chain letter statuses/pictures that get posted there all the time. Aside from that the worst that I can think of off the top of my head is this crap that I saw about Harry Potter being of the devil and when I called her on it she said I was "as dumb as a bag of hammers" and I hit the "unfriend" button not long after. And there were 2 incidents of me being called a racist, the first time was because I criticized illegal immigration and I forget the reason for the second accusation but the second one is a far left social justice warrior asswipe who I only friended because my Mom knows him.

A friend had shared a video of a woman being beheaded. It was horrific, disgraceful and one of the worst things i have seen on facebook.

Anytime anyone displays unfathomable stupidity counts as disgraceful to me. The worst are usually common sense being brutally raped, like this one: "People who say the sun is a star are sooo dumb. The sun is a sun, not a star, duh." Things like this make me want The Purge to become reality.

Everything. Facebook is horrible. Tumblr is horrible. Reddit is horrible. Every website is horrible and the internet is a hellscape. There is only one truly good site in this gods-forsaken cybersphere, and it is this one. 

 

To answer seriously though, I've seen a lot of really awful things. Lots of body shaming, lots of sexism, lots of pretentious jerks writing long posts about how they're better than everyone because they do X totally irrelevant thing. The furry-related one mentioned much earlier in this thread was definitely a low point, to say the least, but much as I wish it was the worst thing I'd ever seen on facebook I don't think it was...

As a matter of situations were I've felt like I'm angtagonising the whole goddamn earth, I had situations a few months back where trying to discuss the dubious morality of Chris Kyle (America's famed sniper for those not in the know) only managed to embitter some mindless idiots into ranting about how ignorant I must be for not seeing how someone who goes out to kill people is 'doing their country good'. My stance is probably quite obvious on this but I'll neglect to go any further on the matter for fear of said instances erupting into yet another mess.

 

That was on Facebook in case you're wondering, and yes, I still use the site, though I've distanced myself from these people and still manage to find some semblance of enjoyment in the place.

People that are either racist or rude towards others, also what really made me hate people on Facebook was this story on the news featuring a little girl who has a hormone condition causing her face to be deformed. Her mother posted a picture of her on Facebook for her friends and people immediately called the little girl really offensive and awful names.

Anything related to offensive humor, it just comes off as the person having no idea what is 'funny' and just trying to be offensive as possible.

 

I've seen people fat-shame cosplayers which is just gross, cosplay is supposed to be fun not over who has the thinnest body possible.

 

Facebook seems to attract the most offensive, sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, and just obnoxious people ever. It's like most brony sites.

A facebook group called, A good wolf is a dead wolf. They post pictures of the end results of all their wolf hunts. Piles of corpses of wolves & coyotes stacked up & hung for all to see, or pictures of them smiling next to the wolf they just murdered, usually w/ something like "Check out my new rug!" Damn those bastards to hell. 

 

We're human beings. Top of the food chain and the apex of evolution on this planet. Yet this is the behavior we lower ourselves to? 

 

Yikes, I'm almost at a loss of words to describe how cruel and disturbing that is. It hurts me even more, considering that canines are my favorite species of animals. It would be great if more people realized how inhumane that group is being, and the group's page gets taken down. I'm not gonna get my hopes up, though...

   Facebook can be a dark window into someone's bigotry and intolerance, not just to humans but to animals too, such as dogs, I volunteer to look after wolves and wolf dogs, so I know they are intelligent and affectionate, they respond so passionately to touch, for when I see pictures of cruelty to canines, I makes my heart sink. Facebook is also a site that gives an outlet for some nationalist, too much in love for their country, ethnicity, gender, or religion, at first it seemed so small, now it's everywhere, and has ruined Facebook for me, which is a shame, because I have friends and family on my page, as much as I would like to participate on Facebook, I am still old fashioned, and would rather prefer face-to-face conversation, rather than letting the keyboard do my talking.
