Anybody miss Halloween already?

Yeah. I don't consider it a holiday, but it's still a fun and atmospheric time of year when done in a wholesome manner. Fuck the "pranks" and the extreme horror/violence.

I'm certainly missing it now, because it's Spring and there's a whole dreadful eight months of heat to go through now.

 

I would love for it to be Halloween again, just so the weather would be improving!

Last Halloween, I was able to dress up as Rainbow Dash at work, and I had a really fun time there! It was probably one of the most awesome Halloween days out there, and of course I do miss it. haha.

   Well, Halloween is coming up now in...what, fourteen days? Yes, hasn't happened yet, but I am already missing it.

Sure, maybe I am a selfish sort & the free candy was a big part of it, but I think its a bit more then that. Had a rather protective mother and Halloween night was the time I got driven around the neighborhood, walking up to strange houses where, at the time, my only expectation was that strangers giving me candy meant only good. It was a time of brisk, bracing cold autumn winds, a time to take risks and get rewarded, a sense that adventure was something you could hunt down and throttle the candy prize out of. Halloween was fun. With growing up & constant worry over getting a job or finding some purpose; Fun has been something that has been lacking as of late in my life. Don't know what I'll do when the holiday is upon us, maybe go for a walk around town & come what may or go shopping the day after and binge on leftover candy till I make myself sick. One way or another, Halloween is a part of me, and I want to be more of the me that I am!

I love Halloween, best time of the year.  It's really the only time I actually want to get decorations for my home.  I honestly haven't really celebrated it in years but it is the best time of the year.  I love autumn in general.  If I ever get my own house, I'd love to make it Halloween themed.  Or maybe have different bedrooms go with a certain theme.  Like maybe one room would be autumn themed and another would be Beetlejuice themed?  That would be so much fun.

I still trick or treat, but this will probably be my last year. I probably will miss it by then, but there are better things than free candy in my opinon.

Well Halloween has happened yet, so I can't miss it.

But I do miss trick or treating.

The last year I did that was in 6th grade, and I really wished I continued it in 7th.

I miss Halloween when it felt like a real holiday for kids and something special, and not this over commercialized publicity stunt it often feels like these days. Much like every holiday, big business got a hold of it and now just tends to make you tired of it long before it actually arrives.

 

Halloween is still one of my favorite times of the year, but it just does not feel like it used to to me.
