Is the My Little Pony 2017 Movie gonna be a musical?

I don't think so, it's likely to have a lot of action in it and music during such scenes wouldn't really work out, musicals tend to be for films with more casual plots.

If they're attempting to make as many musicals as the average Disney movie, I think it could work. Well, it's not like FiM is short on music

Disney movies do it all of the time, so a few songs here and there shouldn't hurt it. I just hope it isn't too much that it takes up half of the movie.

There will be plenty of songs, obviously.

But a musical movie would suck, I'd prefer it to be like a season premiere/finale: a villain who wants to conquer Equestria.

 

I mean, the songs in MLP are good, but not great.

There had better be a villain song.  That's all I can say.  If they're going to have songs in it (and they will have songs in it), there had better be a villain song.

 

That said, I think it would be really awesome if they had an epic number with the entire cast of the movie singing.

I have to quote this part of your post to show everybody something.  Because there are alot of misconceptions when it comes to musicals.

 

 

 

As you can see, it is indeed possible to have songs during action sequences in musicals.  And it's easier to do in an animated movie, because of the fact that the songs aren't sung live.  So the action sequences in cartoons can go off without a hitch (we've seen a few examples of this in FiM).

The music is one of my favorite aspects of MLP:FiM, so I think it would be great if the movie was a musical!
