Do people mistake your age?

Most people online tend to think I'm younger than I actually am. Irl it also happens that people think I'm younger, but it's not as common.

I'm 14 and when I was 13 I literally sounded EXACTLY like a girl. It was kinda creepy, people always thought I was 9 and 10. Now they think I'm between 13 and 15. lol

Not really, but over the internet my mic makes my voice sound younger than I am 

Same here. It didn't happen when I had my headset but it broke and I use my headphones with my tablet so it uses my headphones' mic.

I hit puberty pretty early. I started growing a mustache in like 6th grade and my voice was also pretty deep then. I don't know when it stopped getting deeper but one of the most common remarks I get from people I don't know well, to this day, is how deep my voice is. 

 

So, when I was younger, like 16, I was often mistaken for being up to 4 years older. But these days my age caught up with my looks so I pretty much look as old as I am, 18. Or maybe just the 18-22 range. I know I've found I have trouble telling who's 18 and who's 22 at college.

People have been guessing me to be my current age for the last 7 years due to my being taller than my peers. Basically the only time I get carded is when there's a new person at the liquor store. I look younger now that my age has caught up to my height.

Not anymore I don't think. At least, I am pretty sure nobody does. People used to think I was older by how I sounded which was rather strange I think, but now that is not the case. When I was 16 many would think I was like 20 or older based on my voice. :|

I do this joke where I meet new people and I'd ask them how old I am. Most of the time they'd have answers years below my actual age which I get a good laugh from. All my other friends would join in and let the unsuspecting victim guess again. A few minutes later I'd tell them the truth, because there's this feeling called guilt and yes, it exists in me no matter how much of a meanie I am.

Online, through text, I'm guessed to be somewhere like a college student. Either entering, been or just graduated. I've had very few people guess me to be under 18... And by few I mean about 5/100 or 1/20. Whichever

 

Over voice chat... Online... typically guessed to be about 17 or 18... So still off. I've been told if my voice was a tad lower i'd sound like an adult. "Well no shit..." No, I mean like the way i talk. Not sound but the words i use and such.

 

IRL... I'm guessed to be 16 - 18... And Let me tell ya. I'm neither XD. I'll be 15 in ten days. 

 

I'm known to all my friends to be the mentally oldest of my social groups... Told i act like an adult, so i pride myself on it. Think it's gone to my head a bit

To be honest I find the reactions when I give my actual age to be hilarious.

 

I've been mistaken for a guy once when I was on a mmo, because the other person was used to meeting male players and automatically thought I was one. I didn't correct him until it actually came up in a conversation. Never really bothered me.

I look young for my age. It's actually much more of a curse than a blessing for me. I always need to rant every time I bring it up.

I'm 18 and I look 14/15...or even younger. Depending on how much I made myself up or what I wear. In high school, everybody who didn't know me already thought I was a freshman. Whenever I told people I was junior/senior, they almost fell out of their seat.

Even now when I go to a restaurant the hostess always ask me if I need a kids menu. Everybody older than me always talks to me in a tone you talk to young kids in and they always call me sweetie or honey. Even people my age or younger do this if they think I'm younger than them. It's quite rather difficult for people to take me seriously.

I look older than I am (I'm 24) so much that I'm pretty much never carded when buying alcohol. Ironically my voice is rather muddy-sounding and makes me sound younger than I am. It's a bit awkward, but I'll probably find it amusing one day.

It happens to me all the time. I'm 20 and people tend to think I'm 17 at most, the most common age they give being 15, and the most absurd was a guy in a WhatsApp group that thought I was 13 after I sent a picture '-'

So, how it usually goes for you?

This is pretty much the same case for me. I'm 20 as well, but a friend of my grandmother thought I was only 13. Apparently 13 year olds can grow a goatee now -_-

 

I was born a few months premature, so I guess it's natural for me to look young, but it's still annoying. ALMOST as annoying as being a twin... almost.

Not an issue much anymore but I used to look older than I used to to some people because I ended up growing facial hair pretty early and I reached 1.8 meters in height in middle school.

Im middle aged (36), but most people think I am in my mid twenties. I work with someone who is 24 and she thought I was younger than her! And the thing is, it isn't how I act. I have a strong work ethic. I don't blather or gossip at work, nor in general. So her view was based entirely on how I look. (Also, the ponyisms I write down in my daily goals at work... That might make me seem younger I guess.)
