ManaMinori 4,145 October 2, 2015 Share October 2, 2015 If you were born in a world of mythical fantasy creatures (talking dragons, pegasi, unicorns, faeries, hippocampi, Manticores, etc.) And you had the ability to use magic, too, but you somehow wound up in a different world, with non-magical humans, on Earth. You make few friends in this new world. Would you want to stay on Earth, just to be around your new friends, or would you want to go back to the world of dragons and unicorns, and faeries, and leave the friends you made behind? 1 Under the Jellicle Moon- a site with cuteness, cat boys, and comic strips / Star Dreams Fanclub
sweetolebob18 728 October 2, 2015 Share October 2, 2015 Depends. If I could still cast magic on the new world, maybe I'd stay. If I couldn't, I'd probably go back because being without magic is like being crippled (IMO)
SCS 7,537 October 2, 2015 Share October 2, 2015 As much as I love everything fantasy there's no way I'd go back. I wouldn't trade the people I've met on this earth for anything. Friendship (and love, and family) is the true magic after all.

Mothra 675 October 5, 2015 Share October 5, 2015 (edited) being without magic is like being crippled Y'know, if you had those powers from birth and lost them, It would be like being crippled, like anyone with any basic senses from birth that loses them, like sight of hearing. Also, I'd probably go back to the magical world, in the same way that if I was born on earth, blah blah blah, suddenly in pony land, I'd rather be back in earth, it's where all my ties with friends and family are, they kinda take priority over newer friends / associates. TFarrgon 57 October 5, 2015 Share October 5, 2015 Friends are what keep us bond to the world. Loneliness with awesome stuff is no way to live. I lived with loneliness all my life and now that I have friends, I can't go back to those days, I can't even think about it. 1 Made by Kyoshi
sweetolebob18 728 October 7, 2015 Share October 7, 2015 It depends on wich world you are talking about. EQ, for example, does not seem to have TV. I'm not sure I could exist without TV.
Xeltor23 704 October 7, 2015 Share October 7, 2015 Hmmm... tough question, really. I think I would be amazed by the technology advancements in the Human world (if we're talking about ours) but I'll surely go back in my original world. I mean, I'd make new friends here, but letting everyone I know behind me is impossible. Loyalty is important, but you can't be loyal to everyone. CuriousPony 157 November 28, 2015 Share November 28, 2015 I.... don't know. It's hard to say that I'd wanna stay in the fantasy world because I like that kind of thing, because if I were born into it, it'd seem completely normal to me. And this high tech world we live in would seem new and exciting, most likely. I think I'd choose to stay with my friends, because then I could be with them and they could teach me about their world. 1 Me in a nutshell. Ixrec 86 July 3, 2020 Share July 3, 2020 (edited) Depends on a million unspecified factors. Do I have a job in either world? Do I need a job in the fantasy world? Is there a transdimensional internet? (in real life basically all my friends are online, so we might as well be in different dimensions as it is) Was I doing anything interesting with these magic powers before I left? How close am I to these human "friends"? And so on. If the idea is that friendship (and any other kind of meaningful interpersonal relationship) is somehow categorically impossible while doing stuff in the fantasy world, then yes of course I'd stay in the human world. But that'd be a very... unusual fantasy world Edited July 3, 2020 by Ixrec

ExplosionMare 18,081 July 4, 2020 Share July 4, 2020 Depends on how much I liked the levels of fantasy there. If I didn’t like my abilities I probably wouldn’t stay. Boom!
Cagey 4,248 July 4, 2020 Share July 4, 2020 Depends on a whole host of things, but I likely would have more friends and family back in the fantasy world, so I wouldn’t want to leave them.

Thuja 3,659 July 4, 2020 Share July 4, 2020 It really depends on what sort of world the magic one is? What level of technology do they have? What sort of magics are there? I mean, if there's the possibility of having dimensional magics, maybe I could find a way to communicate with the friends I made on Earth but at the end of the day, I would prefer going back to the magical world instead. Though that depends on the society that lives in that world. If they were like the Witcher world, I would prefer staying on Earth because I wouldn't want to be treated like sorceresses do in The Witcher, as an example. If I lost my magic once I got to Earth, I would definitely want to go back to the magical world. If I lived with magic for most of my life and then got transported somewhere where I lost my magic, I would absolutely feel crippled and feel like a piece of me was missing. Even if I did make very good friends, no amount of love from them could fill the whole of my love for my lost magic. I'd feel lost.
Goat-kun 2,528 July 4, 2020 Share July 4, 2020 I really have become a great old evil of Poniverse, haven't I. If memory serves, the original post was made as a badly concealed effort to build a case for Sunset's return to Equestria, nothing more. Now back to the unintentional topic: I would be a monster. I would go back. Still, this opinion changes nothing.
Dreambiscuit 10,034 July 5, 2020 Share July 5, 2020 I’d want to stay in the magical world. Even though it would be new and different to try another world, and the general idea is that the tried-and-true is boring and the new is intriguing need not apply to the world as it is today. I can’t imagine much about present day Earth to intrigue anyone, especially someone from a realm with so much else to offer, whether it’s familiar or not.
