Theory Are the changelings returning?

we have seen refrences to the changelings in 3 episodes of season 5, either the writers are just reminding us they still exist or they might have bigger plans for them in the future of the show. what do you think is happening with the changelings?

I think they were explored in the comics pretty thoroughly; probably the show doesn't need to have them.

 

Don't get me wrong, though; I wouldn't mind them being used as effective antagonists in the cartoon.

I think more changlings is a win or maybe some who have broken away and trying to be normal ponies or having lives from their Queen.

Aside from the lone Changeling at the wedding, where else were they mentioned?  I must have missed them because I can't recall.  

 

Anyway, yeah.  Maybe not a full-scale invasion, but the writers really need to do at least one episode that centers on the Changelings.  I've seen two solid concepts, the first being the Twilight/Fluttershy episode concerning how each would deal with a colony of hungry Changelings and the second centered around a pony in love with a Changeling (in pony form) trying to fit in with a society that shuns him.

 

I'd love to see both of these concepts crop up in the future but I'm not holding my breath.

What if Starlight is a changeling all the time? A changeling, outsiide any hive, who want everypony to be equal, so changies and ponies could live together? Okay, probably not, I guess, until a bigger major appearing, that it is more for fun and fans

I wouldn't mind a return of the changelings, as I feel there's more that can be done with them.

Nah, I 100% don't think so for this season at least. The theme of the season is cutie mark magic, and there's absolutely no ties to them in that theme. I actually don't think they'll appear for season 6 either.

The thing is, the show is very toyetic, and they need a new toyline for each season, which strongly encourages a new villain for each season, custom tailored to the new Toyline.

 

 

That being said, the staff know the changelings are very beloved, so they probably want to put in alot of references to them, and the comic staff are free to use them to their heart's content. (Which kind of makes me think there's absolutely no plans for the changelings return in the show, because if the show staff have near free reign to use them, it implies no current plans in show to use them since the show staff and comic staff have a strict "no repeat plot ideas" policy)
