What are your sin and virtue?

My my, what a grim title. I am quite happy about that. So, I will clarify things. This is not a "what is your crime and what is your good deed" thing. It's a bit different. As you may know, seven deadly sins are  some sort of the primary evil that is the origin of every other evil in a human/sentient being. They oppose to the seven heavenly virtues, who are their opposites. Here are the sins with their opposites:

Lust - Chastity

Gluttony - Temperance

Greed - Charity

Sloth - Diligence

Wrath - Patience

Envy - Kindness

Pride - Humility

So, in this thread, you can, if you want (I'm not forcing you xD) to tell, what is your main(s) sin(s) are (imbued with your personality) and what are your main(s) virtues are, describing how they are manifesting. Every other "quality" is said to be derived from the seven sins/virtues, like bravery, altruism, apathy, laziness, narcissism, spite, but you have to tell the "main" sin/virtue from which it is derivedThere is no perfect human, we all carry darkness within us. I could say, some don't even have virtues, but some of those, virtueless, can act as if they have a virtue. I guess it's good enough. Trying not to be that bad is admirable, even if it's only to try to lie to yourself that you are good and trying to escape the truth. So it does qualify.

<--------------------------------------------------------------------------------->

I guess since I started the thread, I have no choice but to be the first one? Well, so be it.

My main sin is wrath. I am normally calm and smiling, but I know if someone hurt those I love, I will unleash my wrath on them, with the sole purpose of destroying them, without thinking of consequences.

I would also say my other sin is sloth, because I am lazy because I don't care, because I am extremely irresponsible, because of my apathy towards others and because I make promises that I easily forget later and fail to fulfil.

My virtue is kindness. I seek to help those who ask my help, trying to bring a smile on the faces of my friends. I can rarely decline when asked to assist with someone and hate argues and angry disputes and when someone cries. And I like cats. Only kind people can like cats! ... what do you say? Sebastian Michaelis like cats? Well, I guess it makes my argument invalid xD.

<--------------------------------------------------------------------------------->

P.S.: And now it's your turn. Try not to portray yourselves as totally evil monsters and try to give at least one virtue. But don't portray yourselves as perfect angels too. It is impossible to be perfect. And try to tell the truth, otherwise, there is no point in telling anything.

I don't think extremes benefit me, in any example of being.

Also I don't have a dualistic perception of reality, so it doesn't make sense to associate a negative or possitive connotation, to traits which explanation is open to perception.

But you might say I'm lustful and arrogant, but also kind and patient.

Then again, truth is a very subjective term. So there's no attached connotation to my behaviour.

I would say that My ultimate sins are, Sloth, as you said, and Greed.

I'm in credibly Lazy, and I usually procrastinate till an hour before somethings due, and I'm awfully greedy. I love having things even if I never ever use them, but get upset if they are taken away. Like jewelry. I don't ever wear it, but I collect it because I LOVE shiny things X3

My virtue is Humility, rarely do I take credit for something I've done or will usually wave off a compliment, as I don't have enough pride to accept it.

Virtue seems a bit harder to pin down. Isn't that always the case?

I'm not too particularly good at self-control, so chastity & temperance are clean out.

Charity & Kindness seem close together, though charity is more about giving and generosity. Which...is something I can run into problems with, more about that later...              Ditto for patience, I do try my best to be understanding & kind, and I likely am moreso then most, but I still loose my calm rather easily.

I am rather humble, I suppose. But that comes from being extremely self-introspective & the sort of self-hate that comes from depression, so maybe its not the most genuine of humility.

For lack of a better word, I'll go with Diligence. Sloth certainly is my second biggest sin, but at least I am fully aware of it being a problem and try to combat it. Really though, I consider my honesty, loyalty & sense of honor to be my biggest traits, though I can't figure where those would fit under the Seven Holy Virtues.

Heh...funny how we usually only ever hear of the sins. Since their always so much more fun!

I think what genuinely makes it a sin, is if you know it is and you still do it anyway. If the rule is that just one of these gets you into Hell then mine is definitely Gluttony! Sure, now I'm greedy too, I collect as most people do & squirrel them away in my room & if someone so much as pokes one of those pony figurines a few centimeters off I'll fly into a comical, miserly rage, but it makes sense. I've not had much else in my life, but if you looked me in the eyes & I could tell you genuinely would love & care for it, I wouldn't mind parting with a piece of my hoard.

But Gluttony! HOOO! It's fun! You can't keep food from me! Heck, right now I'm working off a good foot-high pile of discount Halloween candy as I type this! You can't leave food out anywhere near me if you expect that to be there when you come back! Good example, I hate bacon & I'm trying to stay away from pork for admittedly wimpy personal reasons, but the other day my Dad left a few pieces of bacon out when he left & I sucked it down solely because it was unattended. I've intentionally eaten a piece of pie my sister was saving right after I just had Thanksgiving dinner! And that's what Gluttony is as opposed to Greed. Greed spills over into Avarice (the want for power) & vice versa. A want for things & keeping it to yourself, for you can be greedy about food as well. But when you intentionally take far more then you need, knowing full well it could be better used elsewhere, regardless of whether its food or not, that! That is Gluttony my friends!

Beatings & Salivations Everybeing!   Creativity is something blatantly important to me as is no doubt evidenced by the 28 OCs I have posted here of the some forty plus I have, they're linked altogether at the bottom of my About Me page in my Profile & I would deeply cherish anything you wish to say about them! Among which of those I am proudest most of is my Draconequusona, His/My Ask Thread  and my Hydra, Gallimaufry or "Mauf" and their own Ask Thread!  Either way, sufficed to say, I am quite confident I have more OCs than you! Crazier to! Do You have a tatzelpony?! No, I rather think you don't! Hew-Hew-hew!

I think I have each of those sins within me more or less and I'm not one for the virtuous things though perhaps kindness and temperance would be mine with some humility perhaps though as I said I'm not one for the virtuous

I'd say that pride is one of my biggest sins. I tend to want to do things myself and have a hard time letting others help or go out of their way for me. One of my biggest virtues is kindness, as I can empathize well with others and like to help people, so long as it doesn't compromise my own well being. :)

Envy is the largest for me, can get a little jealous of people at times, even if never for extended periods of time. On the opposite side, Patience my largest virtue undoubtedly.

I'd say it is through that I can be more virtuous in regards to the others.

I have a few sins on my plate and I'm not particularly proud of it. I have envy towards others who are much better off than I am and are able to get things that will forever be beyond my reach. Sloth is another sin I have given that I'm lazy and don't really do all that much unless it was something I am willing to do. I might have a tiny bit of greed within me because of wanting collections, but I see it as harmless as I don't go overboard.

Virtues... I probably dabble about in each of them without being strongly affiliated towards a particular one. While I do portray some characteristics of the virtues, they are off-set by the negative connotations that I possess.

My bigger sins are Sloth and Pride. I can procrastinate with the best of 'em and I tend to be self-centered at times (okay, lots of times). My virtue I guess would be Kindness. Actually it's closer to Loyalty, which would be a derivative of Kindness. I know this seems to contradict my self-centered Pride, but I can be Loyal and still complain about it all the while.

greed, sloth, wrath and kindness :L that's who snow is lol

greed and sloth being the top 2 working hand in hand, i want but will not work for DX
but then there is kindness :/ if someone needs emotional support ill drop everything and try to help, friend or stranger doesn't matter. if i am in a better emotional state than someone i feel obligated to help them :/ i wont dare say humility tho because i can be a pretty big prick at times too XD

Well, I can tell you that my main sin is wrath. I identify so much with it. Although I'm most of the time calm, and little things I react with annoyance at worst, I tend to gain and hold an intense hatred if you cross the line.

I'm not sure what could be my main virtue, as as illogical as it might sound, I think I'm patient (it just takes much to make me angry and hateful), chaste (I'm not chasing after any boobs I see, nor I seek to have a girlfriend, much less one-night stands), etc. Thing is, I got a degree of these virtues, but I can't see which could be the main one

There is no sin. Sin is a human construct. If god didn't want 'sin' to exist or occur, it wouldn't. So therefore, the things deemed as sin are not evils in gods eyes, but evils in the eyes of other humans. And even things deemed as virtuous are only done so because humans in a particular place of the world in a particular tiem period found these to be good things. I'm not arguing that they are commonly shared between multiple cultures across time. Just that sin and virtue are misleading labels.

So therefore, I have neither sin, nor virtue, yet practice both.

I'm patience, with some greed on the side.

I'm really patient, and almost never really get angry at people, but I do have the tendency of not thinking about others. I really have trouble taking others in consideration, and not just go for myself all the time.
