ManaMinori 4,145 January 27, 2017 Share January 27, 2017 So apparently, the world's first chimera has been created, with scientists finding they can grow human parts inside of a pig, for those in need of organ transplants. Does ths deeply disturb anyone else, for now and in the future? Hybrid species, I think, shouldn't even exist outside of mythos. 1 Under the Jellicle Moon- a site with cuteness, cat boys, and comic strips / Star Dreams Fanclub

TBD 17,256 January 27, 2017 Share January 27, 2017 hm..well knowing human's and pig's organs are technically the same with some minor differences. So i don't really see this as a pig problem. If this actually succeed where pig can still function with a human's organs then maybe vice versa. Human organs donors can be hard to come around. Overall, as long it not expressed inhumanly toward both the animal and human. but I wouldn't go extreme calling this a chimera. 1 ♪ "I practice every day to find some clever lines to say, to make the meaning come through"♪

A hybrid species. They would called it a chimera but they didn't why? chimera just sound a bit far fetched and mythical ( since its origin is from greek myth). and it would make the researchers sound like delusional dreamer. So they play it safe and just call it a hybrid. Either way Chimera is unlikely to happen due to species incompatibility to another . even so, if they cut up parts and mixed it together, i don't think it will last that long and it would be inhumane. Ganondorf8 11,370 January 27, 2017 Share January 27, 2017 Hmmm... On the one hand, it can be seen as unethical and perhaps borderline disturbing, but on the other hand, it could prove useful in saving lives. I'm going to lean towards the latter by saying it's a good idea. I also think the project needs to be developed further to ensure no side-effects occur regarding the pig.
