AHAHAHA i did the same but at small/medium size to put them on my notebooks and room xDD

i mostly printed zelda and inuyasha stuff xD

I was into the anime craze at the time, especially Digimon, and that's what I ended up printing off much of the time.

Internet was more simple and less of a hassle.  I remember that I always look forward to go to the library...for internet.

but now...no need to walk over there...1290165886_rsd4rn.gif

I wasn't old enough to be using or even be interested in the internet but I believe my dad got internet in 1994 and the only things I can remember about 90's internet is The Hamster Dance, Netscape, the dial up sound and a swedish website called burkar.nu

Then I remember lots of stuff from early 2000's like Limewire, another swedish website called Hamsterpaj... I remember when youtube switched from being a dating site to being a video site. First stuff I watched was neat classics like this

You had a lot of incredulous content like "mew is under the truck", "use the item finder in every square of seafoam islands to find the mist stone", or "beat the elite four 30 times in a row with a magikarp to get pikablu."

I also remember my first few memes being the llama song and "all your base."

I relate to this.

Considering I was introduced to the internet by my old computer teacher way back in 97-98, these are the most memorable things I can recall:

  • Netscape Navigator
  • Windows 95
  • Encarta 97
  • Visiting websites mainly for games

After my parents got me my own computer in 1999:

  • ICQ, Yahoo IM, AOL, MSN
  • MSN Explorer
  • Charmander31's Pokemon Chat
  • Dragon Arena, a Spyro fan forum, first one I ever joined
  • Spacebattles.com, the first major forum I joined
  • Looking for various Digimon, Spyro the Dragon, and other fan sites I could find. XD
  • My very first website; dedicated to Digimon: http://www.homestead.com/cooldigi/CoolDigi(Unfortunately; not even Internet Archive can bring it back. ;_; )

33 here, and that annoying dial-up noise will forever be burned in my brain. Web-pages took forever to load and I was never allowed to stay on the internet too long because it tied up the phone line. That wasn't too bad since at the time there wasn't too much to do online. I even thought at one point the internet would eventually phase out, what did I know, right? lol!

Not really internet related, more Windows related but who remembers this?

I thought that was an actual game

Well, I remember the sound it made when connecting to the internet, visiting one page and immediately turn off the internet connection just to not consume my megas. Speaking of megas, my plan also had another set of megas that was twice as much as the standard, but only uses them since midnight (cue some weekends sleeping up to 4 am, and some other a wild angry mom showed-up in my room because I was laughing watching funny Mario and Zelda parodies :D )..... oh, how can I forget screwing my PC because of porn-reasons :orly:

In my case, my dad had to shell out money for new ink.

I loved Digimon Adventure so much too

It was extremely memorable though it's a shame that it was followed by Digimon Adventure 02.

I ran "Everchanging BBS" from 1987 through 1990.  As sysop, I actually had the ability to drop into chat at any time with one of the two people who were on at any moment when I desired to do so.  The BBS years were pretty neat, with the doors(legend of the red dragon, tradewars, etc), and the ANSI art, and the ability to message people anywhere in the world with a several day delay.

When it came to the net itself -- I remember when it was ftp, irc(and there was only ONE), gofer, telnet.  There were telnet games, and MUDs.

im 26 (in 2 days) and i didnt really get super involved on the internet until about 2003 (i was 12), before that it was just an allowance of an hour a day on dial up at home so i could play neopets.

but my older internet memories include,

Myspace and Bebo for socializing, sneaking onto the MSN web client at school. Neopets. Playing on freearcade.com because all other game sites were proxied on the school system. AOL, Lycos and Jeeves on our PC homepage. Using tripod- later became freewebs to make my own pokemon based fan site. and of course early Newgrounds, DeviantArt and Youtube, plus the old gif and flash vid sites. sadly dont remember the names, its been so long.

but for PC general stuff, The screensavers really bring back memories. The doom style maze of course WATCH OUT FOR THE RAT!

and two of my faves that were on my Dad's 98/2000/me - cant remember which one, but it had audio and animated screensavers, one was a haunted house and the other was an aquarium set up.

When my family got connected for the first time, there was just one computer and it was ancient. My dad still has it in his study, and it still works, tho it's very slow compared to a laptop. I bought my own computer for my room eventually cuz I was sick and tired of having to share the family one with my brothers, also with my own one I could surf all night if I wanted to. :P Nowadays, the internet is commonplace; we've lost that wonder that used to come with being able to learn anything you wanted, chat to people in different countries, and make your own site.

As I mentioned before, chatrooms were wild. Most were full of creepers and weirdos, and hardly any mods. The first thing that everyone typed in was "a/s/l" (age/sex/location) and everyone lied. :P Plus all the pop-ups that infested those places. You got used to typing out a sentence, then clicking the x in the corner of the pop-up for garden furniture that appeared at that moment. The only safe chatrooms were the ones that came with the internet provider, but those were really stuffy and strict. You could get booted out for swearing!

I remember when the internet was a luxury and it wasn't as convenient as it is today. I remember when you had to do your projects at school because it was the only place with accessible internet and that you didn't own any internet. Also, most internet speeds were slow back in the day, wasn't as fast as it is today.

I still don't know how I lived without internet back in the day but if this was the case today, I don't know how I feel, probably not good.

I'm 21 years old, turning 22 in August. I've literally been in forums and other types of communities since 2003, so since I was 8 years old. Anyone remember when Firefox first came out, like, the beta versions?

I remember installing version 0.8 and thinking this was actually way better than IE, without even realizing how more secure it was than IE at the time. Those were the times.

Im not that old, so i dont remember as much.

I still remember the Video Answer system on Youtube, where you could answer a Video, with a Video.

I tried to become famous that way, by posting my Videos on other popular Channels, with a similar Theme.

It didnt worked, everybody disliked me.

I also remember Foren-City ( Forums-City ), where you could create your own Forums for free, but the Servers went down.

I also remember an old Melody, from an old Web-Game, that my Sister used to play.

I guess it was a Tower Defense Game, sadly i dont remember what the Game is called and i havent found the Melody back, for years.
