I don't understand you people. Why torture yourselves with the slow drip feed of episodes and get jealous when other regions air episodes before us, when you can quite easily just wait the entire season out and marathon all the episodes at once in October?  Hell you could get like 20 hours sleep the day before, and then do a crazy marathon through the night of all the season 7 episodes and then subsequently go to the theater and watch the MLP movie all in one freaking day! That is what I am talking about *q*

Well that's really awesome as I live in Melbourne Australia. The only thing is that we don't have Foxtel as my parents simply can't afford it. But that isn't going to stop me from watching it on YouTube thanks to someone else in Australia who recorded the episodes and uploaded them!

Well, based on the synopsis, I think they're implied to be dead, since they're getting the story from relatives, not them, and the episode ends with AJ getting her Granddad back together with Granny

Personally, I'm pretty suspicious of said "spoilers."

It honestly makes perfect sense to me;

He's the anthropomorphic personification of an aspect of reality. If he fails to act according to his nature, it causes him to erase himself. its a fairly common idea in fiction with anthropomorphic beings

Terry Pratchett played with this concept quite often in his Discworld novels. "Small Gods" "Reaper Man" and Hogfather" delved heavily into it as a major part of the plot. I would like to see it applied in MLP:FIM.

As for episodes airing earlier in other countries, I'm good with it. I'll just keep my eye out for where to download them. That's what I always do. I'm complete up to 07x11.

Its not about being UNABLE to act that way, as acting AGAINST his nature-- He's not acting orderly when frozen, his mindset is still in its normal chaotic state, and he's probably doing insane stuff in his own mind. However, when he begins DOING things, of his own voalition, that are antithetical to his nature, *that's* when the paradox kicks in.

Its like an auditor in discworld (to use the above example from cutecindyhoney ). Telling an auditor they're an individual does nothing, but getting THEM to say they are one kills them instantly.

 

As for his actions being "to survive", he's chaos, but chaos is not neccessarily evil-- Its like how Tyranny is order but isn't harmony. Pinkie is as chaotic as it gets, but she's not evil for example. Discord Just had to learn the RIGHT way to be chaotic, and have empathy for others while doing so.

On the note of Discordant harmony: this sounds like the Premise of the Accord comic (Discord thinks that others won't like him due to being chaotic and begins changing himself), except GOOD. Looking forward to this one since it focuses on the relationship between him and fluttershy for the plot, as opposed to... THAT comic arc.

 

Actually VERY excited for this one.

Sounds like a 'be yourself' moral with a little extra symbolism toss in for good measure. 

As a fun aside, I love the idea that a bunch of single guys on EQD are arguing the tense of a married woman's maiden name. 

Finally, I don't believe Granny and Grand Pear are or were a couple. He is AJ's maternal grandfather, and Granny is her paternal grandmother.

Of course Pear Butter is the mother and Bright Mac is the father.

Granny is Bright Mac's mother (paternal grandmother) of Bright Mac's offspring. Grand Pear is the father of Pear Butter (maternal grandfather of Pear Butter's offspring). 

It's pretty obvious (to me at least) based on naming psychology. What, do you think Pear Butter is the father of AJ? I suppose I can see why some may think that based on coat color. The father has a light green coat and the mother has a pale grey coat. Light green is a pear color, right? Except, it may be odd to call a light grey pony 'Bright' anything. Also the mothers coat reminds me of pears without the skin.

Also. The linked article states that her mom is a Pear. This isn't Sherlock Holmes level deductive skill. Moms a Pear. One of the parents is named Pear Butter.
