Now that we're in a mid-season hiatus, let's talk about the 2nd half of the season. For those of you who looked at the leaked S8 episode synopses, what episodes in the 2nd half of the season are you looking forward to? Not looking forward to?

I hope S8 drastically improves, not just because the first half was underwhelming, but because the second half also has some fantastic sounding episode that'll be heartbreaking if they're unable to deliver, like The Washouts, Father Knows Beast, On the Road to Friendship, etc.

Not looking forward to A Matter of Principals though, it reeks of another "Discord is a fucking prick because fuck you", the fact that Starlight is his target this time pretty much guarantees that it's gonna be a controversial one

Well, for now, the only episode I'm not looking forward to is Father Knows Beast if only because

It'll 99% joss the back story I had in mind for Spike's origins.

Still, who knows, I might be able to work it into something later.

On the plus side, I'm looking forward to an episode that

reveals more about the Students 6's histories,  especially if it confirms/denies if the young/newborn Changelings have to go through their "hungry caterpillar" stage before reaching "beautiful butterfly" stage.

It's an episode with Discord throwing a tantrum over something he shouldn't even care about, and he's sharing the spotlight with Starlight, the most divisive character in the show. It's a recipe for disaster.

Disaster, or maybe a very funny episode. We just have to see.

Sounds of Silence. The introduction to the Kirin species. For those who haven't read the leaked sheet yet, this species is so worried they'll hurt each other's feelings that they down a potion of silence, bottling up any form of comment. This map episode is also a celebrity episode, which are usually among the best of the series.

The Season 8 Finale "School Raze."  We all know that Cozy Glow will stand out an as antagonist for the story.  But thanks to some confirmation by Actor Mark Acheson, Tirek is set to return for this finale as the real antagonist(Most likely setting up a "Hijacked by Ganon" trope).

Also, judging by the leaks, Tirek may be the next villain to be reformed.

I honestly don't think there is a groan worthy episode in this entire list. In fact, I'm having a hard time deciding which episodes I'm most excited about. I get another RariDash episode, and it's a possible new wrinkle in what Starlight was feeling last season. The Scootalove ep, the Trixie ep, the Kirin ep, all sound amazing.

I just hope there won't be another pathetic, useless episode that none of the Mane Six makes any kind of appearance whatsoever.

We've already had five of these in the last 2 1/2 seasons (that's one every half season), and the CMCs all appearing in four of them, but now, I don't think those three are getting anything at all until the season finale.

I think it's IMPORTANT to have episodes where the Mane 6 don't appear. I think it helps to show the other characters solving problems their way without relying on the Mane 6 to solve the problem for them.

But either way, I don't want to see the Student Six entirely replace the Mane Six because as far as I and everyone else should know it, most of them are not ponies, and the show's title, after all, is My Little Pony, not My Little Griffon/Yak/Changeling/etc.
