I was looking at new phones the other day and realized I don't need an audio jack in my phone because all my ear buds and head sets are Bluetooth anyway. Without the audio jack usually the phone has a different feature implemented in it's place which can be more useful for me. Also aren't there adapters to plug in wired headphones into the charging port?

I rarely play music on my phone (usually it's because I finished playing a tape in my car and there is nothing good on the radio, so I connect my phone to the car stereo), but when I do I need the audio jack. Bluetooth is OK for an earpiece for talking, but not good for music. At work, a few of my coworkers have bluetooth headsets that they use to listen to music and to me they sound worse than regular wired headphones.

Also, using bluetooth in my car would mean that I would need some kind of adapter, which would be more inconvenient to use than just plugging in the cable.

Then again, I do not use modern phones... I also do not use wireless headphones, with the exception of the hands-free earpiece when I am driving.

I used to hate phones that didn't have a headphone jack, but recently I've started to not care so much. I'm even considering upgrading to a Galaxy A80 when I get enough money, which doesn't have one. Bluetooth headphones have gotten to the point where if you do your research, $20 can get you a really good set. Though, I guess this is coming from a person who's never spent more than $25 on headphones, so take that opinion with a grain of salt.

The only things I don't like about wireless headphones are needing to recharge the battery and the audio delay, which is noticeable in movies and games. Luckily, I use my laptop almost exclusively for those, so I can just use wired headphones when I need to regardless.

I like blue tooth as an option, but not the only option. I have enough things to charge as is, and they're overpriced, which is why phone companies are pushing for them. This technology isn't new and it's being pushed on us.

Gotta have the audio jack because I don't use bluetooth headphones.

Audio jack all the way. Why would anyone want to buy a more expensive phone and need to buy more expensive headphones you have to charge and have an inferior sound quality, that have the risk of disconnecting and drain your now unsafe phone that’s forced to use Bluetooth?

I have that option, but I also have an audio jack. Don’t support these greedy phone companies tricking you into thinking what they’re doing is something innovative; they want to save money and make more money.

Audio jack, so I can still listen even if my bluetooth set dies. It's a courtesy that should be offered.

And no, I don't want a USB based set of phones either because how will I listen if my phone is charging?

Audio jack. I use Bluetooth but I’d carry a hand/earphones just in case the battery dies.

Wired earbuds are still as popular as wireless ones. Why remove the convenience? Seems pretty dumb to me.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

My father did give me a phone with no headphones jack. Until I got a Bluetooth headset, he also provided me with a special little box that plugs into the phones C-type connector that allows for a headphone jack and C-type charger to be plugged in.

While it allows me to quietly listen to audio on my phone in public places where I wouldn't want it to be a nuisance to the people around me, the downside is that the connection in that little box is not always reliable. One minute, I'm enjoying some loud music on my phone privately then suddenly the connections between the phone and the headphone jack is severed, even with the Headphones still fully plugged in. This bothers me and the people who would be near me. I don't know why that happens sometimes.

While I now have a Bluetooth headset with a pretty impressive battery life and no wires, it doesn't always pick up my voice clearly especially when I'm trying to voice chat through the Discord app on my phone. Sometimes, When I try to use the speech to text feature to save on typing out the message by hand, it misunderstands me and puts in words that completely change the meaning of my intended message. So I would still have to manually type in any corrections. Basically, talking in my normal voice and normal speed the feature still mistakes some of my words as some other similar words.

Believe it or not, I still use wired earbuds. Many people do, so a phone which has an audio jack definitely has the added convenience.

I usually put the long wire of those earbuds through my shirt and out the bottom into my phone or iPod and when I don't use the earbuds, I leave them hanging out from the top of my shirt. This method that I've been using since 2005 helps to keep the wire from being snagged on something in front of me. Downside is that if the wire length is too short, then it would be an annoyance to bring the device close to my face to look at it, since that would mean I'd be tugging at the earbuds that are in my ears.

Basically, the wired earbuds and Bluetooth headphones have their pros and cons

I know I sound like I've became one of those people, but bluetooth earphones are getting so good now, like I even ended up upgrading to Skullcandy Jib+ Active earbuds which under heavy use, the battery lasts like 2 weeks,

I still prefer a phone with a headphone jack (so I have the choice)

While I do not currently use a modern phone, i I had to, I would get one with a headphone jack. I do not have wireless headphones and do not plan to buy them as the wire is a minor inconvenience compared to having yet another battery to keep charged and then having to replace once in a while.

I prefer a phone without a headphone jack, as I can just add a better headphone jack at my convinience with a better dac (so the headphones sound better),
but remove when it's not needed, and a usb-c or lightning splitter (or with either an iPhone 12 or 13, or a case with magnets so wireless charging can be done magnetically)
