What does everyone here think of season 1 versus season 2?

I want to know everyone's opinion on each season. Which one was better? Why was that one better than the other? I am impartial to season 2 myself.

First I thought season 1 was best.. Because of no season 2 xD

Then after season 2, I thought season 2 was the best.

But now I kina think season 1 is best again, even if some of my favorite episodes are in season 2.

Season 2 was definately the superior season. The first was minorly predictable and had less memorable moments due to the fact that the creators were unsure of how far they could take the show at first. Season 2 cast aside those doubts and allowed for more engaging stories and exciting moments althroughout.

Season 2 got better episodes but Season 1 got the feeling when you became a brony. So i guess they are both good in different ways.

First off, this needs to have a poll.

Secondly, Season 2 is best season. The best episodes, the best lines, and even though it was touched on in Season 1, Season 2 was entirely just as much geared towards bronies as it was to the target demographic. The least kiddy of episodes mostly all happen in Season 2.

Season two, mostly because I think the writers of the show had realized by then that there was a huge adult following, and wrote episodes that catered more to the brony fandom than the target demographic in season 1. Of course, they still had to make it appeal to little kids, but there's a bunch of references, jokes, and general themes only adults/teenagers would recognize.

 

Take for example, the first normal episode (after the Discord season premiere), Lesson Zero. Crazy, funny, and somewhat creepy at times. I doubt a young audience would find this as funny as we do as teenager+ bronies.

Season 2, in my opinion. While Season 1 has great episodes, Season 2 gave us the Return of Harmony two-parter, more great songs, the Derpy fiasco (admit it, even though she changed, the fact she was called Derpy at all was amazing), and of course, the amazing Canterlot Wedding season finale two-parter.

Season 1 is overall better. Season 2 was good but I think that Season 1 had more memorable episodes: the pilot, A Dog And Pony Show, Party Of One, Best Night Ever, Feeling Pinkie Keen, Winter Wrap Up, etc. And Season 2 has an extremely overrated finale.

For me season two forged my love for MLP, but season 1 will always be in my heart as it introduced me to the wonderful world of Equestria. I'm currently re-watching season 1, and I now have a better appreciation of the first season as I get to see how my friends (the mane6) evolved, lived, loved and fought for friendship.
