What do you love about MLP and its fandom?

Like a lot of people, I like the show for it's story, jokes, animation, charters, and episodes. The one thing I think I like best is how big the fan base is. Seeing all the great pics, fan-fics, animation, and how the writers of the show listen to fans is the best.

So thats why I like it.

Whenever I talk about My Little Pony with my family or friends, and when I tell them I like the show they always have to ask. "why would someone of your age be interested in something for 8 year old girl's?!" Or "I don't get what there is about it that makes it so interesting?" Personally I don't really care if they approve of my interests. I just wish some people would actually try and listen to what you have to say before they judge you.

 

I am one to enjoy children's shows even at an older age, and when a friend told me about this I thought I would give it a try. The first episode I was just kinda bored by it, but once I started watching more I began to love it. I find it hard to explain how I feel about this show, but I know when I watch it, it makes me have hope for some happiness in the world . I also sort of recently found out about these forums, and another thing I love about the show, is the people who share the love for the show. The Pony Community! Everypony here is so nice, I feel like I could say anything and no one would judge me(heheh....but I won't)

I love this show and I love Pinkie Hooves and Derpy Pie! Or just Pinkie Pie and Derpy Hooves (I made them up). They are so random and inspiring! I love how Physics don't work on Pinkie pie.

The cartoon has an appeal that can be enjoyed by all ages with it's humor and stories. Yes, it's wrapped around a girls product but inside that show is the creative process that Faust had shown is capable of being enjoyable just as much by adults, even the male population, as much as the target audience that of young girls.

 

 

 

That and the music, it won't leave my head alone. Whether it be fandom music or the shows it's all swimming around up in the noggin. Recently it's the theme song, hasn't left in about a week and previously it was MandoPony's Loyalty; that one took about three weeks to leave.

What is it about the show that you like? The lovable personalities of all the ponies and it had many lessons to be learned from it. The art was amazing too, and even the one time characters are extremely developed.

One thing I love personally is the amount of substance this show has. Each character is a physical representation of something virtuous or something we’d consider positive, with that said the characters are multidimensional, they have flaws and that makes them so relatable.

 

Then there is the great detail that goes into the show. Between the animation, voice acting, and writing of the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a very well put together product. You can tell the FiM team takes great pride in their work because it shows in each episode.

 

And finally I just find those ponies freaking cute!!

I dunno, its a combination of things. I really like the characters and their personalities, the music is great, and even catchy, and the visuals are just awesome. Its one of the few recent cartoons that get me excited for Saturday Mornings, and I haven't felt like that since I was 10-11 years old!

I don't really know, I don't think I've changed much since I started watching it, but my Internet and TV habits have certainly changed.

EDIT: Actually, it has changed me a bit. Its made me remember what I was like as a kid, and the person I've become today. Since an incident a couple of years back, I changed drastically, I became a lot more closed ff, and was serious about everything. I even decided to go to school to get into Computer Networking, something I was never really interested in. FiM helped me remember what I was like way back then, and now I'm happier, and my outloook on life has changed. AND, I now know my passion is in voice acting!

Well, I love the animation for one thing, they do a fantastic job, and also it gives you a happy up beat feeling when watching, which is always nice, and the stories are pretty good as well.

For me after seeing some of the episodes... It blew me away at how awesome of a cartoon it was! To be honest with you I have not seen a quality cartoon like this since about the early 2000's! There have been good shows here and there from 2000-2012 but no where near as awesome as this show is. And everyone thinks bronies are weird because they think we watched the older generations of the show that we honestly aimed for little girls.

 

 

Now I will say that the original 80's version was mostly like well made for the targeted audience. But remember the g4 MLP is the one I consider to be Gold. It is also what spawned bronies in the first place!

I love MLP because it's the best kids' cartoon show since the 90's. It has great characters that you immediately identify with and care about, different species or not. It doesn't assume kids are dummies who need to be spoon-fed everything. It doesn't try too hard to be clever. It has no agenda other than encouraging friendship, love and tolerance. It has relevant humor without distracting pop culture references.

I would say the thing I like the most in the show are the characters. They're simply damn well-developed, specially characters like Twilight and Rarity. They're complex, they have qualities and flaws, they have remarkable and unique personalities... It's just fantastic! The characters are immensely adorable and captivating in a way I've never seen before.

I suppose the simplest, yet descriptive answer I can give you is the following. Everything is done right. Literally, everything that goes into making the show is executed to it's advantage. There are a lot of other cartoons out there that could be better but they lack the proper writers, animators, directors, or producers, etc. The amount of devotion and dedication that the staff of this show puts into it is what makes the show amazing and why many of us enjoy it. I love the characters and the stories that are told in each episode, plus my personal reason would be that I feel the world could benefit from the great messages that the show gives. Now that it's out of my system...the REAL reason, I believe, is that the vibe the show's creators were going for must also resonate with all of us. Maybe Equestria represents what we wish the world was like. Cuter, more cuddly, enough sweets for everypony, money not an issue, friends you can trust, and no war or politics except on the most basic level.

 

Imagine if over 50% of the country voted for Applejack in 2012. We'd see politicians proclaiming their bronyism and doing ads as cartoon ponies pretty damn quick, I'll guarantee you.
