Music that touches your soul

I think only metal/rock ballads are able to have such a deep influence on me. For example:

Pure beauty

agreed, if its not classical music i like, its rock/metal though there are the occasional others that I have no idea what the genre is

There's a lot of songs that gave me the goosebumps on how beautiful they are, or because they drive me to nostalgic-gasm, but these two are the top of the list

If we're talking nostalgia, then.....

before a few months ago, last time i heard this song, i was seven

There are a few songs out there that make me feel emotional. Like somehow the song speaks to me. But I guess it all depends in what mood you're in. Heres some of the songs that get me thinking about life.

I don't really get moved by music, i'm a major lover of metal but there is one song that isn't metal that seems to have a power over me, it just seems so... i don't know, primal?

Yes it is the song used for the assassin's creed trailer.

It's very rare for me to listen to anything that doesn't have Japanese lyrics (which I can only very very barely understand), so bare with this post.

Here's the original version of the song that connects to me the most.

http-~~-//youtu.be/vbFWTa9SFzU

And then here's the remixed version that I like more, because the way the genre is, it matches the way I take and think about the song.

http-~~-//soundcloud.com/djnoriken/mata-ashita-dj-noriken-bootleg

Why not some translated lyrics?

All I can really say is that the song connects, and matches the way I feel a lot of the time during certain situations. At first, one would think that the song is a pretty happy, carefree song, but no. It's not all that sweet once you read the lyrics. It's pretty sad. I can't really explain what it is about this song that gets to me, but it does.

Man, do I have a song for you guys.

I'm not a fan of anything sad, but this song touches me because of the truth that it tells. The truth is that anyone who has an evil heart can always be reborn into a new being of good. The sad thing about this song is that Johnny has passed away, and Peggy Lee realizes how good of a man he was. Whenever I hear this song I can just imagine Peggy Lee sitting next to Johnny's grave, playing this song :(

Radiohead - "Fake Plastic Trees"

It really hits home when the old gunslinger pulls out is pistols, and then the closing lyrics "If I could be what you wanted, all the time..."

Green Day - "Homecoming"

Sometimes an event will change you, but in ways that are not immediately obvious. If this change is severe enough, then the "home" in your head can cease to exist. I first realized this while listening to this song's closing chorus "we're coming home" while actually driving home. Even when you go back there physically, it's gone forever. It was a devastating realization, but I had no choice but to grow from there.

A lot of Pink Floyd gets that mark, y'know. Specially when you can relate to the lyrics in one way or the other, for me it has to be this one.

another Pink Floyd one, as you could probably see you're not the only one, so i suggest i have to listen to it more often than usual

Pretty much any songs that talk about love and/or sounds romantic and beautiful always pulls at my heart.

It's totally not like they force me to think about a certain purple pony every time. Nope. *ApplejackLie.jpg*

*Foreveralone.jpg*

Also, anypony that has played Final Fantasy 10 will agree; It had an amazing soundtrack.

Fun fact: Did you know, that the voice actor for Rikku from FF10, is the same voice actor for Twilight Sparkle? (Tara Strong is the voice actor for both.)

I remember when I was just seven, for some reason I couldn't help but stare at Rikku's ass every now and then. Nine years later, I see little has changed, just different character.

Somepony help me. I REALLY need to stop talking about Twilight.

*Sits in corner, rocking side to side*

No... No I don't need help... Heh heh heh, I'm PERFECTLY fine! Yes! I'm FINE!! YOU HEAR ME!? I'M FINE!!

*Maniacal laughter*

*To Zanarkand starts playing*

*Instantly falls asleep like a baby, continuing to mumble something about Twilight in his sleep*

There´s whole bunch of songs that made me shed a tear. Often because it reminds me of the events.

This one gave me depression that lasted a week. It´s not too long, but imagine, just because I listened to this one song...

Edit: shit, why I´m listening to it again? :(

I am a huge fan of the music of kingdom hearts and I really find these two pieces really emotional:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yna9FIlV03Y

I really like the beautiful and piece melody of the first track and the sadness of the second one as it is written for the death of a character. The games I feel have a lot of touching music (feel free to disagree) and these were just two of my favourites! :) I hope you enjoy them!
