Oh I just got the booster packs, I never got a full box, see my friend got me booster packs for Christmas. I did not get lucky or get any gold foils.

Gold foils come one in 30 packs so they are very rare but you usually get one in a box because the box comes with 30 packs.

Anyone know where to get these in Canada? I haven't seen them at Toys r Us or Wal-Mart, and I'm not sure where else to look?

I have, over time, constructed an imaginary story that I focus on whenever I'm alone. The "story" consists of not one character, but a whole family of characters, who all have their own stories (I know their names, the names of their partners, the names of their ex-partners, their best friends, their best friends' stories). Am I insane?

The clinical name for this is "unpublished author".

Is this like a card game, or just collectibles? I'm not big on collecting for the sake of it.

 

They are sadly just collectibles.  A card game would be cool though and I could see them doing that eventually.  The cards are really cool though.

Wow, more cards than what my store has. My local Target only has this tiny little box full of about 15 card sets. The Vinyl Scratch Box up there seems like something I'd really want, considering it has a poster.

Someone should start a trading card group :P it would be pretty interesting to see it happen where a group dedicated to all trading cards of MLP

And we could then trade with each other! It would make it easier for everyone to complete their collections or get the ones they're looking for. I like it!

Hmm, possibly. I like the idea, but it doesn't seem like they really have much in common between all the cards to use as any idea of what beats what. I'm all for the idea of us as a community creating our own TCG though! I made a Kirby one a couple years back for me and my friends, and I was working on making my own original TCG last year with some friends of mine (we normally make PC games), but we had to drop the project because we had no artists.

Anyway, my point is that I think we should get a group together to make a game of our own. Who's in?

I know I've seen sites that allow the creation of custom card games, but I can't remember what any are called. I'll try to do some digging, though quick google searches haven't turned up much.

 

EDIT: Well, I'm too lazy to spend a rediculous amount of time scouring the web just in case the perfect software already exists, but I'm (hopefully) not too lazy to pad my resume. So here's what I say:

 

If somebody else creates the basics of a MLP card game, and no suitable software for making it actually playable is found, I promise to TRY (failure is always a possibility) to use the super-awesome (a.k.a. free) Unity game engine to make a decent video game version with online multiplayer. I've never made a game before, but as a Computer Science major I really should get some project that I can point to and say "I did that," and I would also like to see this exist just in general.

 

But my skills in deciding which features from dozens of different card games I've played should be included, not so existant as my ability to figure out a game engine, so I'll need someone else to make the basic rules before I can even start.

The second set has a confirmed release in April this year! So, what do you guys think will be included this time around? I'm sure Sombra will get a gold series card, and I'm hoping Trixie gets some kind of foil. And the king timberwolf needs a card.

If anyone needs anymore cards, I'm going to try selling some of mine for $1 each for the common cards,$5 for regular and puzzle foil cards, and 50 cents for tattoos. Plus 45 cents for postage.

 

I will come up with a page on ebay shortly. That way you don't have to PM me your address or anything and we can do payment there. However, if you don't want to open an ebay account and you still want some cards, let me know and you can pay me by emailing me money via Paypal. I promise I will not scam. If I do, feel free to tell the mods and have them ban me for stealing $2 from you. :P

 

I have tons and tons of extra cards that I do not want anymore. I am trying to save up for a wedding and getting rid of my extra cards will help with that.

 

I deliver my cards in a stamped envelope with a card sleeve and a plastic top loader. I have sent lots of cards through the mail when trading with people and I have gotten no complaints from people after they have received them.

 

ALSO!!!

 

Do any of you live in New York and/or are intending on attending Big Apple Ponycon? Because if so, they are pre-releasing series 2 of the trading cards at that convention, AND they are going to have one of those convention promos.

 

Now, I don't care so much about the pre-release. I can wait until the cards come out in stores. But I have a feeling that that promo card is going to go out much like the Rarity promo card, and that convention will be the only way to get a hold of it. Is someone willing to do me a BIG favor and get that card for me? You know, someone who doesn't care much for collecting the cards but wants to go to the convention, yet doesn't mind lending a pegasister a hoof...

 

I will give the brave volunteer 20 bucks and my address if they volunteer to do it. But I will only give the money to them after I get my card... don't worry, I am trustworthy. I just don't trust random strangers on the Internet. ;)

In case you didn't know, I am an MLP trading card fanatic. I have to have some self-control with that fanaticism now that I am planning a wedding, but I still want to collect. Just on a budget. Any way that anypony can lend a hoof is highly appreciated. :)
