So most of us have seen episode 11 in which you get to see a new pony called "Filthy Rich", according to his name and his characteristics most people would think of him as a greedy pony.

What do you guys think? Do you think Filthy Rich is greedy or not?

Post what you think!

Not greedy, just a shrewd businesspony. Kinda like a used car salesman, like they're successful but there's something about them that just seems shady.

While Filthy Rich does come across as quite the entrepreneur, he doesn't seem to possess any social aspects that would suggest him to be a greedy or self centred individual. In a way I tend to parallel him with the likes of Fancypants; while both are successful in their own right, neither seem to hold any negative characteristics. From what we've seen of Filthy so far, he seems to be a pretty decent pony, who just happens to have a pretty unfortunate first name.

He is like some rich people, they have standards. He probably might be a philanthropist in Equestria, who knows, and his daughter is tainted with greed because of his wealth.

He seems like an okay guy. I agree that he doesn't seem to have any negative qualities, but he does seem to give boring presentations. Mr Filthy doesn't seem to be at all like Diamond Tiara and also seems to take an interest in how his products are created since he makes his daughter hop around like a bunny singing to the water. And he doesn't make fun of Granny Smith even when he totally could. My conclusion is that he's all right.

He doesn't seem greedy, just ambitious. He is proud of his wealth and accomplishments. There is one negative thing about him though, and that is Diamond Tiara. He probably spends all of his attention on work, then buys his daugter what ever she wants. She acts out because she wants attention, and takes out her anger and frustrations on others.

I like Filthy Rich a lot because now we realise that Diamond Tiara is mean by nature, not by nurture. He's a successful businesspony, yet he treats others with respect as we saw from his dealings with Granny Smith (even to the point of willingly involving himself in her strange rituals like smacking the cooking pot on her head with a spoon), plus the fact he told off his daughter for not wanting to do the same.

He seems a fine southern gentlecolt.

This is exactly what I was thinking, it shows the contrast between his business ways and how DT let the family’s esteemed image and wealth get to her head. Overall Filthy Rich's character seems to have decent characteristics and doesn’t let the money make him too much of a snob.

It probably helps that since it was his great-grandfather who first made deals with the Apple family to sell the Zap Apples in his business, he learnt the importance of the Zap Apples and the respect they deserve including all the rituals, just as the Apple family do, thereby giving him the humility to prevent being a rich snob and actually make the personal effort to continue such transactions, even after his business is booming.

Remember he had that presentation when he was in the school class talking about how his business was doing extremely well? That was BEFORE the Zap Apples were ripe and before he got them. Yet he still makes the transactions and treats the Apple family respectfully, knowing that he owes his family wealth to them.

Diamond Tiara's just never worked a day in her life (as far as we know) and therefore doesn't appreciate the whole thing as much as Applebloom, her father or Granny Smith do. After all, she was apparently clueless about the Zap Apples. Hopefully, if she actually does become part of the business, she will learn to respect it all the more, and not be such a brat.
