I have a HP G42-475DX Notebook PC with a AMD Phenom II N640 Dual-Core Processor (2 CPUs), ~2.9GHz. It has 4096MB RAM and has a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) operating system.

PM me if you want the nitty-gritty stuff. I also have an iPad...

Currently typing on an old Compaq Presario that was a hand-me-down when my netbook bit the dust.

Primary rig is a custom job for the lady love's photo editing (and gaming when I can sneak it in):

AMD FX 6100 3.3 GHz 6 core CPU

8GB DDR3 1333 G.SKILL Ripjaws RAM

HIS Radeon HD 4670 1GB video card

MSI 870A-G54 mob

Recycled my 80 GB Western Digital Caviar HDD into it. Regretting that, currently.

And recently, the most ridiculously sized heat sink I've ever seen - a Zalman 120mm CNPS9900ALED.

It ain't the best out there, but it's a far cry from the worst.

current system is a custom-built PC I put together almost 4 years ago.

It's an Intel e6550 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo

Radeon ATi 3870 (R770) GPU

4GB of G.Skill DDR2 RAM running at 800mhz

all on a Gigabyte Intel x38 motherboard.

640GB Western Digital (I believe) HDD

when I first put it together, it was pretty nice. starting to show its age, however. starting to get the itch for a new computer. hopefully I can find the funding soon.

I actually own and use a lot of different computers. I've got a Dell OptiPlex 170L just as my storage/older game machine.

2.4 GHz Celeron

768 MB RAM

40 GB HDD

Windows XP SP2

I've got an HP mini 110 XP as my on-the-go machine (Netbooks; best idea ever.)

1.6 GHz Intel Atom

1 GB RAM

160 GB HDD

Wndows XP SP3

I use an old Apple iBook G3 just for fun browsing the web a few times a month

300 MHz PowerPC

160 MB RAM

3 GB HDD

Dual booting Mac OS X 10.3.9 and Mac OS 9.2

And there's about 22 more computer I own in various working/broken condition, no joke. (Used to be a hobby of mine to collect old machines.)

But my main machine that gets the most use is my Apple eMac. It's way outdated by today's standards, but it suits my small computing needs perfectly.

1.42 GHz PowerPC

1.5 GB RAM (Maxed)

80 GB HDD

Mac OS X 10.4.11

Built My desktop rig over two years ago:

Posted Image

Specs:

AMD Phenom II x4 955 at 3.6GHz, any higher and it BSODs. Yay for C2 stepping.

Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO to keep the thing somewhat low temp.

Gigabyte MA785GMT-UD2H Micro ATX Motherboard

8 Gigs of G.Skill DDR3 1333 RAM at 1500MHz (Bus OC ftw)

ATi Raedon 5770 at stock speed but soon to be OC'd as well

Seasonic X series 650 watt PSU

Seagate Barracuda 500 Gig HDD

Hitachi Deskstar 160 Gig HDD

Sony Optiarc DVD+/-RW burner

Asus Xonar D1 soundcard

Logitech Z-2300 "system" with a pair of Polk Audio Monitor II 30's as satellites

And soon to be a 21.5" Asus IPS LCD monitor

Runs Windows 7 of course. I'll be running linux full time when Steam is available for it.

Built it during the first gen of the i series where an i series CPU and motherboard alone cost $500. Been doing good so far. Maybe with some stable voltages I can OC more.

My spare rig consists of an AMD Sempron 145 lightly OC'd to 3.2 GHz, 2 gigs of DDR3 1333, Integrated Raedon 3000 GPU and a slow as crap 80 Gig IDE HDD running linux mint 11.

My craptastically bad netbook is your standard run of the mill netbook. Intel Atom CPU with IGP. 2 gigs of RAM and a 16 gig SSD again running mint 11. Once I get college sorted out, it will be replaced with either an AMD Trinity based laptop or a System 76 laptop.

Edit: How could I forget? I also have a Commodore 64 in excellent working condition.

First world problems!!! Anyway, I'm stuck with this heap of garbage, the Asus Eee 1005ha. It puts the "ass" in "molasses". Sometimes it locks up WITH ONE TAB OPEN IN GOOGLE CHROME!!! And it's not like I run intensive background programs, no, other than Bsecure, I have NOTHING ELSE RUNNING!!! I'm trying to save up and purchase an Alienware Aurora whatzitmadoozymabob. Maybe that will finally get me a computer that can run faster than an ant with 5 broken legs. I don't really know where I got these arbitrary expectations of blazing speeds, the only computers I've ever owned were old pieces of crap, so I should just be used to slow as balls performance.

Dell xps 1330

laptop, flimsy, top of the line...wants to DIE!

it says 64 bit, but it cant handle it

My computer was a "handmedown" because it stopped working

It was reincarnated with a new hard drive and Linux Mint (windows always stops working at some piont on it)

It still has it's draw backs, but I'm not really looking for a new computer :P

The simple style and essential features you expect from Compaq are more affordable than ever! The new Compaq Presario CQ57 enhances your life with full PC performance for projects and entertainment, with features you find in laptops costing much more like HD video support and Altec Lansing stereo speakers. Get integrated Wi-Fi to connect anywhere a hotspot is available. A built-in setup manager walks you through this process, plus how to transfer files from your old PC, backup your data and much more. A large hard drive holds plenty of documents, homework, music, photos and videos. It's all yours now at a price so low, it's almost unbelievable. Why pay more for peace of mind? Get brand name quality, now at a price you can afford

That's the info for it dudes, I think it's pretty sweet. Not the best but like it's still pretty neat and runs nice.

  • 4 weeks later...

Only just discovered this topic thanks to Feld0's status update. Bought my computer almost exactly 2 years ago now and even with all the games I play I've only upgraded very little. I'll state in brackets the changes I've made to it.

  • CPU: I5 750 2.6GHz (Used to be OC to 4GHz but can't with new RAM)
  • Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 (Bought off a friend a while ago)
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3
  • GPU: ATI 5850 1GB GDDR5
  • RAM: 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X (Used to be 4GB Mushkin)
  • HDD: 1TB Segate 7200 RPM (Been battling with less then 100GB free space for some time now :P)
  • SSD: Intel 520 60GB (Recent purchase, bought same time as RAM)
  • PSU: OCZ 700W
  • Case: Lian Li PC-60FNW
  • Monitor: AOC 23" e2343f2k (Originally had AOC 19" Widescreen)
I'm still very happy with it and don't see the need to upgrade my video card just yet because I spent $400 on that when I bought it and I'm not keen on doing that again so soon. Mind you hardware is more expensive here in Australia then in the US.

Also I can play almost all games on the Highest settings except for a few like BF3.
