Details are very sketchy right now, I can't seem to find much confirmed info on this, but hey, this site explains all you need to know.

It would be very helpful if I knew Japanese.

But it doesn't. D: What is that?! "Black 2 and White 2"? There's some explaining necessary here!

I am sooo confused. Why the *beep* are they for the DS? Is Gamefreak out of their minds?

Yeah, from what I've heard(Not sure if confirmed though) These are direct squeals to Black and White. This was a totally left field decision though, definatly not what I expected.

Also, while it does piss me off they're for the DS, it says 3DS in the corner. Whether that means something or not I have no idea.

That's a confirmation, that's the official Pokemon site, and a display like that was what I remember first seeing of both HeartGold/SoulSilver and Black/White.

It says DS, though... D: I haven't played Black/White because I was hoping I could get Grey for the 3DS (it would look better on my 3DS; my DS is broken) but now that's completely pointless! Even if this was a 3DS release it looks like a real sequel unlike Yellow/Crystal/Emerald/Platinum.

It has me intrigued regardless. I was always hoping that we'd get another game that would really follow the last. I always loved that about Gold/Silver/Crystal.

The main thing is that you can see the two new dragons, and the Black 2 and White 2. From what I've heard(Again, no confirmation, just rumors) The japanese text is your standard game taglines.

Zekom and Reshiram fuze with Kyurem?

Maybe, or another forme of Kyurem/Zekrom/Reshiram, whatever. Nothing is confirmed at this point though to my knowledge.

I know the game itself is confirmed, I just don't know if them being direct sequels continuing from the events of black and white are true

But yeah, this is very interesting and VERY onixpected.

Also, the release date in Japan will be June 2012. Also, these games were revealed in the official US site already. Possibly hinting for one worldwide release date? Probably not, but we can hope. :P

Not sure how I feel about Black and White 2. I think it should be on 3DS, yet at the same time I'm relieved I don't need one for it... I'll definitely get one of the games though.

My headcanon: It's one game (albeit one with a stupid name) where you choose if you had Black or White, and that changes the story accordingly. N tries to combine his dragon with Kyurem, creating those - two thirds of the original dragon. Other details? *shrug*

Sounds a bit like the linked game from Oracle of Seasons/Ages.

Is there anypony (exept me) who have made their own Pokémon game?

(With mod tools, also called a "Pokémon hack" it isn't a hack but well, that's what it is called)

Hey all! I'm a huge Pokémon fan so I thought I may as well pop into this thread. I'm more of a collector than a battler-- I've made it my duty since Gen III to collect a live dex (keeping one of every monster in the box), and that's what I really get the most joy from doing *_*

Not sure how I feel about the announcement of Black and White 2. The new Kyurem formes are certainly odd, but at the same time a nifty concept. I guess we'll have to wait and see how the games turn out :D

I was severely disappointed in Black and White, I doubt a sequel could fix it, they will probably be up to their bad antics again.

Making a hack is a lot of work, even if you only move around the assets, you still have to design all the areas from scratch, every single encounter and every single line of dialogue. If you do decide on doing this, I commend you, but it's a hard job.

Personally, I am happy to see them changing up the formula with the sequels. Even though the Kyurem forms look... very odd... at least it's not just a generic third version like all the rest. I think B/W is really trying hard to break the pattern with its more immersive story, TMs being infinite uses, and all of the other great features it introduced. I'm thrilled to see what these sequels come up with next. For you see, a third game is just a re-hash of the first two games with the same features... whilst a sequel... a sequel is much more likely to be original and a different game. This is exciting to me.

I do hope they bring back my favourite feature of HG/SS: walking Pokémon. God, I'd love to see that. As well as the touch screen mechanics of HG/SS, which I thought were well-executed. Such as using the touch screen to answer "YES" or "NO" for a question. What happened to that in B/W?

My biggest concern, post league felt empty in Black and White. Locking in the Pokemon as all new wasn't fun at all.

Secondly the location was too linear and I didn't feel like I was going through an actual region because it was a straight path. That caused me to lose some of my immersion. Gold/Silver added the Kanto to explore. Crystal added the Battle Tower which later expanded into being the Battle Frontier. All Black and White got was a Battle Subway. which I felt wasn't as fun as the Frontier.

Triple battles and rotation battles felt like an unnecessary gimmick. There wasn't a major outcry for having them and they weren't used in the game all that often anyway. They don't have the same appeal as Double battles did and don't feel as fresh as they do.

On that note. Pokemon is on the last chance tour. I will likely end up getting Black and White 2. However. If it doesn't grasp me at all, any new game they sell will not be bought, no matter what. I would like a Ruby/Sapphire remake. But it's not a demand.

I just feel like it should be said that, once upon a time (when the world was new) Pokemon Gold and Silver were known as Pocketmonsters 2 in Japan....someone decided to go a different route, I guess, but still...isn't it possible Black and White Two will be the same way?

I wish Nintendo would work in visiting at least one region other than the one you start in on each game from here on....and I will admit I liked having my Pokemon follow me.

From a gameplay perspective, Pokemon could do with a more open world type gameplay. If they really want to break from the old formula.

To me the old formula is

> Start game with generic Grass/Fire/Water Pokemon

> Go through 8 Gym Leaders,

> Encounter evil team with evil plot early on

> Defeat evil team with evil plot

> Defeat Elite 4

> Defeat Champion

That formula can use some change. Doesn't need to be all, but still, some change in there.

I have already done it. Worked with it for two years. I had it on my computer and then my computer got virus infected and I couldn't fix it. I re-installed Windows but forgot to backup the Pokemon hack... ..I still can't forget that. I was so angry so I started to cry lol.. Two years of work for nothing.

I don't know man those two new legendaries seem kind of lazy, I mean wheres the creativity.

If you think about the legends of Black and White, it makes a lot of sense. There was originally a single dragon that split into two (Reshi and Zek), one to pursue truth and the other ideals. Keep in mind their tails and typings: Zekrom has an electrical turbine/energy source, whereas Reshiram has a jet engine/fire based energy source. Kyurem is frozen over; it lacks an energy source. Reshiram and Zekrom represent Yang and Yin respectively, as well, whereas Kyurem is the absence of Yin and Yang: Wuji. All signs point to Kyurem being the gray shell of the original dragon after Reshi and Zek split. If this is true, it makes sense that they would be able to recombine into the original dragon. From the looks of Black Kyurem and White Kyurem, they are the result of an incomplete recombination: two thirds of the original.

Keeping in mind the duality of the plot of Black and White, true sequels would need to follow a sort of split in the timeline: if N befriended Reshiram in White and the player captured Zekrom, one of two things would need to be true for White 2: either N's Reshiram came into contact with and tried to recombine with Kyurem, or Team Plasma hacked the boxes and stole the player's Zekrom to try to reassemble the original dragon. The first sounds much more likely, though. For Black 2, just reverse Reshi and Zek.

These are all just speculations and to be taken with a grain of salt, though.

Oh cool, a Pokémon thread, just what I needed to get started...~

Fellow competitive battler here! (though I'm currently on a hiatus, waiting on BW2 before I'll get back on it) Also still a fan somewhat of the Pokémon (not the show or the manga, I don't generally watch the show and I'm not a fond reader)...

On a sidenote I want more Mystery Dungeon episodes :<
