Applejack without a doubt. One of the best girls on the show vs a background pony?

 

No contest at all. AJ definitely has my vote.

Awesomeness- Time travelling is more awesome than apples.  

Coolness- Doctor Whooves is far cooler than AJ.

Radicalness- What's so radical about apples?

 

Awesomeness- Mother figure for Applebloom, business owner, event planner, and apple bucker. Also saves other ponies' lives and acts as an element of harmony in her spare time.

Coolness-  Gets the job done and doesn't complain, acts nonchalant about saving lives

Radicalness- Almost as fast as RD herself on land and probably stronger.

 

Also, Time Turner needs a time machine to save lives. Applejack does it without a time machine AND gets an unholy amount of work done with no special time machines or magic at all. 

 

And as far as style goes, I think that AJ has the best looking design of all of the Mane 6.

I nominated Time Turner/Doctor Whooves, so I don't feel like I can not vote for him (unless it's against Fluttershy).  Besides, if Applejack's going to win (which she probably will) we should make sure that it's not by too much.  We can't have her getting ahead of the important characters (joking, joking, please don't kill me painfully).

I never got the Doctor Whooves thing. I mean, Doctor Who is a good show and my British step dad loves it, and the interpretation for Time Turner as him is cool, but AJ is second, sometimes third best Mane Six. He's not gonna win in my book.

I love Applejack more then ever! Season 3 has truly been hers so far, so I shall vote for her. I never got the Doctor Whooves thing either, and not just because I don't like/can't really get into Doctor Who, but it just seems that people saw some background pony with an hourglass cutie mark and decided to run with it as a reference to it for some reason.

I have to say this is kind of a one-sided match. Time Turner is pretty cool and is one of the more well known background characters (other than Derpy) under the more well known name Dr. Whooves. The winner of this match is obviously Applejack because she outshines Time Turner in every way.In both character and development.

 

We haven't seen much from Time Turner other than his random cameo appearance and content from the community. Meanwhile Appkejack is one of the main characters and she's one of the best ponies ever. Anyone ever notice she's the only pony of the mane 6 to NOT have a mental breakdown? I think that alone makes her the best of the Mane 6 as it proves she's the most level headed out of them despite her "stubborn" nature. Not to mention her devotion to being honest which is a virtue and her dedication to her friends and most importantly her family.

 

 

So those are my two bits for this match-up. To put it crudely: Applejack gots this win in the bag!

Doctor Whooves is pretty much just as overrated as Derpy. And I find extremely disappointing that some people are still considering Applejack to be a "background" or "secondary" character after having important roles in all the episodes so far. I am quite shocked. This isn't trolling anymore, it's the lamest meme/joke the fandom has ever made, and it's getting intolerable. Yeah, maybe I'm taking things seriously again, but it's ridiculous now, calling Applejack a background pony, when she did so much more.

 

Anyway. I plan to make her win by a whole lot, and if she wins too easily, then so what? She deserves to get a win. 

 

Let's use a comparison chart:

 

Personality - Applejack is kind, caring, hard-working, helpful, responsible, modest, loyal, playful, and honest. Doctor Whooves is...uh...sophisticated?

 

Portrayed in teh showz - Applejack is part of the main cast, the anchor, the one that holds the group together and the best supporter there is. Element of Honesty, too. I don't care what anyone else says, she has flaws that she solves. She's not a damn Mary Sue. Whooves, on the other hand, turned a sand timer thingy. How very amazing.

 

Portrayed in teh fanonz - How creative that they turned Doctor Whooves into some time-travelling alien just because he turned an hourglass, like they portrayed Lyra as obsessed with humans, and would have it no other way.

 

Applejack, on the other hand, isn't portrayed well in fanon. Damn the neighsayers who insist on never drawing/writing/singing about her.

 

But...

 

 

WHO CARES

 

Swag - Beautiful, golden blond mane. Epic hat - lowers when determined, is everything to her. Ponytail in a ponytail. A pure orange color, three shiny apples on her flank. Swag.

 

 

Doctor Whooves - Light brown coat, weird pukey brown mane, wears a tie, and has an hourglass on his flank. Bleh. 

 

Overall epicness - A humble, modest, amazing, beautiful, awesome, apple farmer versus a fanon-made, no personality background pony who turned an hourglass. I wonder which one I should choose?

Agreed. In fact, I think Fluttershy is more of a Mary Sue than Applejack. Her only flaw typically depicted is her shyness/lack of confidence, which errs on the side of "so sympathetic it's barely a flaw". Applejack has plenty of flaws. She's stubborn. She's overly concerned with what others think of her. She is self critical and a perfectionist. She's prideful. She is a workaholic. She doesn't understand the idea of relaxing or loosening up sometimes. She's overeager. She can even be a little insensitive.

 

And people still call her a Mary Sue.

Dang, Applejack stomped him. And here I was expecting the Doctor to put up a bit of a fight. Not that I'm complaining though, a day where Applejack goes through is a good day .

This one's going to get bloody though. Urdnot will come along eventually and explain in great detail why she should all vote for Pinkie Pie, so I'll just say that she's an adorable innocent spaz that makes every scene she's in a little bit better. She's also my second favorite character so, yeah. Sorry Twilight...

Oh that is COLD. As for myself, Pinkie Pie is second to last on my favorite pony list and Twilight is rising up my favorite characters list to 3rd place right now. Sorry Pinkie, but you got to go.

 

Twilight is an interesting character. She has a past of being socially isolated, not because of bullying or shyness, but on her own will. She has unusual relationships with other characters; as a mother, sister, and friend to Spike, as the centerpiece of the elements of harmony, and as student to a goddess. 

 

Twilight can be overconfident, but also has a severe fear of disappointing others due to her lack of social experience. As we all know, she's also hyper organized, but she isn't pushy about her organization like those types of characters often are. She's strict on herself and herself alone.

 

She's also a scientist of magic. That's... AWESOME!

Wow this ones a toughie by far the hardest decision yet! Its basically the pony of logic against the pony of well..... not-logic! I really like both of them very much to i guess for now ill have to put my vote to a hold before i can really decide. Mayhaps someone here could convince me to go to either side but until then i shall remain neutral.

This is half relevant and very amusing so, here's something in the spirit of this decision

 

And Twilight won by a landslide. Pinkie had no flow and mostly tried to make herself look good instead of knocking her opponent down. Pinkie's first lines were admittedly good, if delivered badly, but poor choice of ending for Pinkie's first verse, as it leaves her wide open for attack and was not even insulting. Twilight Sparkle started off strong with "take a letter" and hurt with "Little Miss Party of One". Pinkie's second verse has some good ones like "I'll break you like the fourth wall and that's a Pinkie Promise!", but otherwise stuck to inane patting self on back. What was "I'll be out in the chocolate rain" even supposed to do to Twilight Sparkle? Insult her about Discord? 

 

In her last verse, Twilight refutes Pinkie's points. Pinkie insisted on her delcious cupcakes, but Twilight takes a strike against that. She insults Pinkie's past and her parties (not very well on that second one, but she tries), and ends by calling Pinkie herself a friendship problem. If she doesn't win this poll, she sure won this battle.

Don't be sad Clarity, Applejack may not be my favorite pony, she's number 4 imo. But atleast she is my favorite background pony
