Hahahaa kinda funny how I pointed just one thing to Cupcake and suddenly everyone is showing their personality reasons behind their candidate pick

Welp, someone come get me in 6 days, when things get actually maybe more interesting. Lyra's winning, which is nice, but it's by such a gigantic margin that I'm quite uninterested in the day-to-day developments.

 

Lyra fought tooth-and-nail for the past three weeks to be here, and now she gets a free ride? I'm sort of disappointed, to say the least. It's like ganking a lowbie, or killing someone who's lagging, or killing someone when you're fed in LoL - it isn't a fair fight, in my mind. Boring. A given.

 

Fluttershy fans, where did you go? Why did you give up? Fight with honor!

 

I concur. I used to never be behind by a single page to see how things were going in the race, but i've lost hope. I feel like Fluttershy has just pulled an actual Fluttershy and just rolled over in this competition, and by Fluttershy rolling over, I mean the voters. Huzzah.

It kind of makes sense though, when those people who consider Fluttershy their favourite, they tend to relate to them in some way, shape or form (insert some kind of guilt trip here to get more votes).

But it seems Lyra's gonna win either way, which is kind of cruel to see for me... I'm not mad or something, not even after she kicked Twilight out, I just really don't like her colour scheme. I hate mint!

I couldnt really pick who I wanted too, but in the end I picked Fluttershy. And you wouldnt believe the reason why I picked it.

Well what I'm more surprised is how I ended up continuing voting for Lyra

It seems as if it always ended up as her being the one that I thought was better

In each of the rounds, even though she isn't one of my favorite characters

Still though...it's like as if it was destiny for me to keep on picking Lyra

Oh well Flutterfans, as I've mentioned before I don;t care for Fluttershy's personality

And I can't really find her attractive neither, cute but just not attractive

It does look good together but they're not my favorite colors

 

Lyra though she definitely has got a nice and unique color scheme

With her, she's looking all minty fresh and stuff

I'm judging her by her personality that the fandom has given her

And I'd like to say that I'd like to meet a Lyra that has a liking for humans

Anytime, because it would be funny to see what she'd be like

And I prefer a personality that I can find humorous and enlightening

Over some pony tat's just plain shy and hoards animals

 

Honestly what would you do with Fluttershy? Not too much at all

But if you were to have Lyra around things would be much more interesting

Fluttershy's character development is not an important factor. I don't know what's confusing people about this. And it's not like we've already posted legitimate opinions that our opponents have completely ignored, right? xD

 

Oh fine. Not only do I love all Lyra's colors, her manestyle is just right and I love how the white accentuates the pastel blue on the sides. It's like they read my mind and created everything I want in a pony design. She couldn't be better. I have a longer explanation if anyone wishes to wade through it.

 

Naturally I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't actually

believe Lyra was the more visually appealing pony. I do believe it.

 

There's

something remarkably soothing and apropo about her colors. Her coat is

mint green, or sea green, which I always liked. And her light blue mane combines

extraordinarily well with it, so much that a few overenthusiastic fan

artists draw them the same color. Naturally this irks me, but it's

forgivable. xD  Notice how it curves perfectly around her ears, a style I adore

on ponies and women alike. Moving on, the white streaks that complement

either side of her mane and tail are a perfect touch. In fact, they may be what

"makes" her design as far as her hair goes.

 

So next to

this very cool and consistent color scheme, suddenly you have these

amber eyes. That's another thing. Amber eyes next to blue and green?

They're very striking, but for a moment you think they don't fit. Until

you see her cutie mark. A lyre--not a harp, some people make that

mistake--the same color as the eyes, and a unique mark on the show.

Presumably she uses her magic to play it as such a thing wouldn't be

possible with hooves, but then that's always been a flexible concept if

you look at Octavia and her cello.

 

So next to this,

which even many non-Lyra fans will admit is a very appealing design, you

have personality. For me that factors into attractiveness somewhat, even with

cartoon characters. For example a character like Trixie, despite being a

stroke of designing genius IMO, will always leave a bad taste in my

mouth--because she's not a nice pony, and I'm not interested in much

that's been done with her in canon or fanon.

 

Whereas Lyra,

outside of being a pleasant unicorn who hangs out with Bon Bon and

warmly expresses her approval of royal bridesmaid dresses (xD), is left

to the viewer's imagination. And here's why that works for her.

Sometimes leaving a background character's...well, character up to the

fandom results in very little response. (Or a negative response.) But

Lyra expressed enough unique quirks--most notably sitting on a bench

human-style in Dragonshy--that the fans saw something in her and

responded positively.

 

The fanon that has been built

around Lyra is simply outstanding. The fan art is above average, as I

will show you if you wish to see my image collection. xD The fan fiction

is iconic, with works such as "Anthroplogy" and "Background Pony" that

are household names on FIMfiction. Her shipping is well known and

varied, from Bon Bon to Octavia to Vinyl and even beyond--a healthy

variety, but not so wide that it prompts sarcastic joke fics like

"Rainbow Dash seduces a watermelon." ^^

 

From very

little, the fans have constructed a curious, eccentric but well-meaning

personality for Lyra that, if not technically legitimate, must come as

close as possible. In fact, she has made me appreciate things in the

fandom that I utterly ignored before. For me it was all "what about the

show? It should be like the show. Is it on the show?" xD

 

She

is the one pony who has led me to broaden my horizons. Not to the point

where I'll accept grimdark as legitimate (never happen), but to the

point that I am a happier fan of My Little Pony than I was before. So

that personality, combined with a design I could look at forever, is why

I find her a more attractive pony than Rainbow Dash. Don't get me

wrong, I love Dash. Always will. Her design is quite good. But it

doesn't get me like Lyra's.

 

I used to like Dash's

design best of all because she was blue. And she had the most colors.

And it's still good, but Lyra excels in subtlety, something Dash does

not possess in appearance or personality. xD  And I like that quality.

And Lyra has the blue, but she also has the...what do you call it,

symmetry? I'm not real good with those words. Rather than making a

sudden impression with different colors, Lyra appeals to me so naturally

that I feel better just seeing her.

 

And her rare appearances on the show, contrary to Dash's frequent adventures, make me value Lyra all the more.

 

 

Compared to Shy it's not that hard a choice for me. I don't like pink and yellow together, her mane isn't my favorite and I prefer practical cute to Type 1 Diabeetus cute. Accept it, Shy fans. This is not a mass delusion or a practical joke. It's real. Going nuts over Fluttershy is not a requirement to be a true brony. And Ly really is that pretty to that many people.

You've messed with the master of loaded language and persuasive techniques.

But I shall not load up my language like a gun as I have already done it for Twi and it would be wasting my time because the voting ends tomorrow.

But I will defend the flutters:

"Shy and Hordes Animals"

WELL EXCUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS.

This pony's job is to mainly take care of animals, nurse them back to health, and feed them.

She spends her time treating animals like they are her babies. 

She has excellent talent with talking to animals. 

"Shy"

This is one of her major flaws, but also a cute personality trait.

She actually can crack and become a very assertive pony when she needs to be one.

"Lyra would be more interesting, CUZ HUMANZ"

Well I'm not sure if anyone else is seeing this...BUT EVERYPONY is sitting like this now, so Lyra really isn't too big of a deal anymore.

(Ex. Sleepless and ponyville)

When you really look at it, Lyra is just a green colgate that plays the harp and nothing more.

(She's awesome and cute, but come on)

Not saying voting for her is bad or anything, but I'm not really seeing any constructive reasons on WHY you're voting for either pony.

Not just the Lyra lovers, but the other fans of different ponies too.

I honestly rather doubt debunking someone's reasons on why they see somepony as attractive will make them change their vote :V

Posting a shitload of pictures also won't make a vote magically appears out of thin air.
