Hoping season 4 is longer?

Even though having alot of episodes per season was great, I think the 13 episode seasons are better because you really remember the episodes more. (IMO) But, that could be just me considering I became a brony just after season 2 finished so I watched Season 1 and 2 within like 2 weeks, if not less. However, as may stated before me, the quality seems to have improved a little and I am satisfied with 13 episodes a season. Not that having more would be exactly "bad" but 50 is kind of alot, and not going to happen. I could see like 18, 20, MAYBE 26 but for sure not 50.

Isn't the only reason Season 3 has 13 episodes was because the Hub had 65 episodes planned because thats the norm to animated shows (Have 65 episodes so it can be syndicated).

I would think that after they reach this threshold they can make normal length seasons with no restrictions.

In all honesty, I would rather there NOT be fifty episodes in a season, that is just pushing it WAY the buck overboard

I would much rather have this 13 episode thing happen next season

The 26 episodes was good and all (gave us more to watch) but I still find the 13 episodes to have somewhat more quality to them

Thank you Nas for the sig :3

I don't mind the 13-episode format, really.

...each episode -idealistically- has more quality put into it to make it more re-watchable and memorable...

...kinda sums it up for me, really. Plus I don't really mind personally that there's a longer wait between seasons. I can watch the older episodes (and indeed season 3) over and over again without it getting boring ^_^

Not gonna happen. Fifty bucks says that they're sticking with the thirteen episode formula. The cast have less work, and each episode -idealistically- has more quality put into it to make it more re-watchable and memorable.

well i remember reading this from some were saying some season are long some are short, a short season followed up by a long one.

not sure if thats the exact thing i heard but i think the next season will be a bit longer than normal im not to sure

Personally I am hoping Season 4 will have the same number of episodes as 1 and 2. The problem with the "quality over quantity" argument is that it doesn't really apply here. The first two seasons' quality did not suffer at all from having 26 episodes, and IMO Season 3 has not been any better than those despite half the workload. If anything, a shorter season limits the ideas they can work with and leaves them too little room for error.

While I guess I was a bit disapointed at the 13 episode thing at first, I have to admit that it seems to have incressed the quality overall of eaach episode, and it makes them feel better overall, plus its less work on the staff which technically means that they can ready a new season sooner.

Plus like many people said, its just better off for hasbro overall for many reasons, so I'll bet that they'll stick to 13. I'm fine as long as the time between seasons isn't to long. And as long as they keep pumping episodes out :).

So I guess it doesn't matter to much to me, I mean I won't complain about more pony's for sure, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to complain for less episodes, because they've all been really good so far in my opinion. And whatever works for hasbro is going to work for them, we can't change what they do anyways :P.

i like the longer season(as a compulsive tv watcher) i like having a lot of episodes to go back to but on the other hand the shorter seasons have me looking forward to a lot more... umm important episodes. the actual story of mlp seems to only progress at the end or the beginning of the seasons. so i always look forward to them.

The main bottleneck is graphical quality; it takes man-hours to draw stuff than anything else. Although the writing, plotting, scripting, acting, and scoring could - theoretically - benefit from more time, that almost never seems to happen in practice.

And I'm not sold on the idea that they're going to run out of stuff to do; lots of shows have managed to have more episodes than MLP. The original Ninja Turtles ran up nearly two hundred. Power Rangers have had over seven hundred. They can change up the setting, have story arcs, and bring in new characters. There's quite a bit that hasn't been tried.

I actually think 13 is a good number of episodes for a season. Think: with less episodes, the pause between this and the next season will be smaller, and we have to wait less time in between the two-parter at the beggining of the season and the season finale.

I can't believe out of all the things I did and said, not reaching the required amount of characters was what gave me a warning.

Like the others have said, I would like to see another 13 episode season, for similar reasons.  I feel like this shorter format gives the staff an opportunity to create some masterful, quality driven episodes, since they would obviously have a lighter workload than earlier seasons.  I'd rather have 13 well rounded episodes than say 8 relatively good ones, and 18 filler/ lackluster episodes.

Quality over quantity, essentially.
