Season 3 finale will not be a 2 parter

So I was looking at the next few episodes and episode 12 has been given a title and episode 13 has yet to be said. So this will be the first time the show ends with out a 2 parter episode. 

 

So whats everyones thoughts on this? 

 

Is the show going to end on a cliffhanger or will the last episode just be a normal episode? The only character who yet to have an episode is Rarity, but it would just be odd to end with just a normal character episode.

 

It would be interesting to see it end with a cliffhanger episode and see what they come up with. Still all we can do is wait.

Personally I don't think the season finale needs to be a two-parter, but I am interested to see what happens especially with that picture with the abandoned Ponyville especially with the supposed 66 minute movie

Anyways, I don't know, to be honest I am going to feel a bit strange without a big closing finale like normally we have with all the epic stuff in them, I've always liked finales for seasons because they just give a feeling of closure to that season.

 

So I'll feel a bit odd, however if it does end on a 1 episode type of thing, that must mean that there is gonna be a season 4 . Which is good. As long as thats not to far away, then It won't bother me to much.

As long as its still a good episode I suppose I'm fine with it. It will be a bit strange though. But thats because its different, and different isn't always bad. So maybe this will end up being a really good episode, even if it is a 1 parter.

 

They also could just not have said anything and it actually is a two parter, however I don't think episode 12 sounds like a very two parter type thing..

 

As long as it had that epic feeling of closure and is good I'm gonna be happy, although if its a regular episode, then I'm going to feel a bit odd, I guess it won't bother me to much as long as season 4 is on its way soon afterwards.

 

Guess we'll just have to wait and see how it turns out.

...Ok, fine. Maybe a bit unlikely. But we can always dream. After all, the episode title hasn't really been released yet, so probably it's the third episode to Keep Calm and Flutter on. You never know. Plus, who in the hay would have a two=parter episode, and randomly include a solo episode at the end? I mean, that's cool and all, but it would be pointless. Might as well put that solo episode before the two-parter episode. It would be pointless to do that...

 

 

So let's hope that it's a possible three parter!! That would be so cool....

Here's my theory, the next episode will be a start of a story arc that passes through the last episodes, with Discord being the next step in Twilights training.  I don't think it will be a one parter, but a finale to a story arc.

I'd guess that it'd just be a special episode that kind of wraps up this season and leads into the next.   I don't foresee any drastic changes, but with the alicorn Twilight thing looking more and more likely as time goes on, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Another idea I had is, what if they just do a normal episode then give us a release date for a movie. That could happen.

The only season that ended with a 2 parter was season 2, and season 1 ended with a great episode. I think that before the show is gone, they should give us a full-length feature film. Anybody with me???

I wouldn't mind if it's a 2-parter or not tbh, I thought Season 1's finale was good and it didn't even need a villain (if you don't count Blueblood), since it seems that every 2-part episodes always has a villain in it. Although if it was a cliffhanger episode, then everyone would have to wait quite a while to see what happens next >.< Maybe the fandom will make their own story after the last episode before season 4 comes out xP

That's fine, as long as it's a good spectacle like the other two finales it'll be good. Can't wait to see what happens though, hope we get a song or two preferably a Rarity one.

I'm curious as to how they will work it.  Are they going to try to make it some sort of highly plot-relevant story like the last two?  I mean, they only have 22 minutes to work with.  I know that season 1 ended on a single episode, but they had been building up to that since episode 3.  The whole Gala had already been explained, and all that was left to happen was for the Gala to actually occur.  This time, they will have to both explain and wrap-up the plot in 22 minutes.  I guess the cliff-hangar theory seems to be the most plausible.

They started building towards *something* with Twilight in the Crystal Empire episodes.  I don't know how the next episodes are going to pan out other than "Keep Calm and Flutter On," though so who knows- maybe other subplots within the episodes are going to build up to the finale.

That's true, I had sort of forgotten about that.  There's also the whole Discord thing happening this week, and no one really knows if it will end with Discord's release or not.  Maybe the release of Discord will be the finale?  I guess they still have some time to set up the plot of the finale.  I was just thrown off because they had set season 1's finale up ridiculously early.

Its pretty clear.

This season finale will be an all out war. By the time the Episode is ending somepony gives a speech and while doing it The fights are shown. And then as that pony finishes his speech the episode ends and it will alll be left for next seasons premiere.

What would annoy me is if they leave a cliffhanger and we have to wait until next season to find out what happens. The suspend would kill me.

 

Second thing that would annoy me is if things moved to fast. I remember the last episode of the powerpuff girls was suppose to be an hour long, but was cut to the 30 minutes time period. To fit in the episode everyone talked fast and the episode moved way to fast. If the season final is moving in a direction way to fast, I may not enjoy it as much.

Personally, i don't believe that a season finalle should be a 2 parter... I mean, it's great, you get 2 episodes in one day, what do you have to lose? Well, i personally think, that they should compact as much quality into 1 good episode, instead of spreading it into 2. Again, why i think the S2 finalle was a 2 parter, was because the story was just to long and wide to fit it all into one episode... That can prove to be very hard for the crew to pull off, but they did a great job in my opinion on the S2 F.

To be honest, this doesn't bother me all too much. We don't really need a two-parter every season. Since the finale will be a single episode, I imagine it will focus on Twilight Sparkle.
