That time in Lesson Zero when Twilight started to go crazy over one letter. You would have thought she would have mailed Princess Celestia asking if it is okay if she is late with her letter. I have freaked out over little things like that too, if anything Twilight is alot like I was when I was a kid. I still have a lot of Twilight in me but now have a bunch of Applejack mixed in as well. That episode reminded me of this time I freaked out when I missed this one episode of Power Rangers, I wanted to slap her for that but not because I think she was being stupid although she indeed was but to snap her out of it. But even I didn't go so far as to try to create a problem in order to solve a percieved problem so now that I think about it she probably did deserve a slap for that one even if she was hilarious in that episode.

Some people want to slap Pinkie, but not on my watch. She is just being her element, random, crazy, fun and silly. The only time I've wanted to do something rude to her is when she was going insane in Party of One, cause, No. Just, no. On topic, I'm pretty sure everyone wanted to slap the **** out of Rarity in Sonic Rainboom.

 

I can pretty much agree to that entire wall of text right there.  You also touched on something that held the biggest problem for me in that episode.

Ownership of the farm.

Honestly, I think the writers skewed the odds against AJ on purpose, but the competition was not fair to begin with.  Now, there is obviously the ability to produce cider faster, but it's the source that gets me.  The apples that the FFB used came from her farm.  Had the FFB used an external source to compete with, I wouldn't have a problem with the episode.  The fact that the FFB used her apples in a competition over the very farm involved, which is owned by AJ, just disqualifies the FFB in my mind.

Both of my choices come from the same episode: "Green Isn't Your Color." 

 

Fluttershy: As we saw in the aforementioned episode, Fluttershy doesn't much care for attention, being in the spotlight. She harbors the fact that she hates being a model, but continues to do it just to make Rarity happy. I understand this concept, but what about HER happiness? If she wasn't happy being a model, why didn't she just tell Photo Finish that in the first place? I understand that she was doing it to make Rarity happy, but, again, isn't Fluttershy's happiness more important? 

 

Rarity: Rarity practically begged Fluttershy to model, knowing full well that the latter didn't like being the center of attention. Then when Fluttershy becomes a raving success, she actually becomes jealous of her friend's success instead of being happy for her and congratulating her. 

 

I get that both characters swore Twilight to secrecy, but I see this as the same as telling your friend that you were mugged or raped at a party and making them swear not to tell anyone else. You know it's causing them great pain making them go through this, but you hold up your end of the bargain and don't tell anyone, even though you know it would be for that person's own good. I also get that for Twilight to break the bond of secrecy would be betraying the trust that she had with Rarity and Fluttershy, but it was Pinkie Pie who convinced her that telling one on the other felt would cause her to lose them as friend's, when that simply is not the case. In this case, honesty would be the best policy instead of continuing to put yourself through hell like Rarity and Fluttershy were doing. 

I could be completely wrong about all of this. Maybe I'm just not understanding the characters' motives or maybe it's because I've never been in this kind of situation before. Or it could be that I just don't get these characters. Eh, whatever. I'm starting to ramble now.

Several people have already pointed these out, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who wanted to slap Twilight in the episode(s) "Lesson Zero" and "It's About Time." This character is known for using logic and reasoning to solve her problems. In both of these episodes, however, those things go flying out the window as Twilight drives herself mad trying to fix the supposed "problem" instead of just letting nature run its course. After all, I don't recall Princess Celestia telling Twilight to report to her on what she learned about friendship every week. Then again, maybe she did. I may need to go back and rewatch the episode to be sure.

I didn't like how dismissive Twilight was of Pinkie in Griffon The Brush Off, or how condescending she was to her in Baby Cakes. But that's really all I can think of, and I don't completely blame her in either instance anyway.

Let's see; Rainbow behavior in the Mysterious Mare Do Well and Rainbow Falls, her line in Hearth's Warming Eve; "It should be the Rainbow Dash Show! I'm the star!", the fact that she is the Wonderbolts biggest fan but doesn't know anything about their history, and still wanting to join them even after knowing what a bunch of jerks they are.

 

So yeah, it happens a lot.

I'm probably one of the few who haven't - anger is such a pointless emotion when you're directing it towards someone, or, in this case, pony, who you care about deeply. Feeling anger at Rarity would not only be pretty much impossible for me, if there was ever any need in the first place

@TimeLordRainbowDash the Wonderbolts aren't jerks. In fact, we've seen quite a few times that they're actually pretty good to their fans. They just get full of themselves sometimes, and forget what's really important. (well, Spitfire and Fleetfoot do, Soarin doesn't seem to have a mean or arrogant bone in his body.)

I haven't really been angry at Twilight or Fluttershy. I guess I didn't really like it when Fluttershy tried to capture and chase the animals at the Gala, but I can totally see myself doing the same thing . She made Rarity and Pinkie Pie cry, but I forgive her.

 

I thought it was unfair when Twilight was incredibly insensitive toward Spike in "Owl's Well That Ends Well". Other people hated Twilight becoming an alicorn, but I liked that.

 

 

 

Nevermind. I'm rewatching "MMMystery on the Friendship Express" right now, and it is reminding me that Fluttershy DID make me very angry when she ate the cake! All of the characters (except Twilight and Applejack) made me angry in that episode! They knew how important that cake was to Pinkie Pie and the Cakes, but they destroyed it anyway! And Pinkie Pie was acting stupid.

Well, pretty much this...

 

The most "negative" reaction i had to something Rarity did was only something like this...

 

 

Probably helps that Rarity is never a "jerk" because she wants to be, but because she misjudges something, or somehow is caught up in something and completely forgets everything else for a certain time, but then always realises that she did wrong and tries to make up for it.

 

Rarity has to very carefully balance her aspirations with her friends, usually she manages that just fine, sometimes she fails in that, but that does not mean that she should stop to strife for greatness. She errs sometimes, but when she does it is always a very human thing, don't know why that would make me angry.

The only time i ever got mad to the point where i had to take a break from an episode was in Filli Vanilli where Pinkie Pie was just way out of touch with reality at some points. I mean she made Fluttershy cry, twice, that is not the sort of thing that should be allowed to happen people!

Easy answer.

Unintentionally and indirectly (very indirectly) being inconsiderate to your friends is a common contrivance in a show where the whole premise is characters screwing up to hang an episode off of it. God forbid a girl's show deal with attention whoring.

Particularly when, Rarity has shown she genuinely cares about her friends and has gotten better at handling attention (Becoming Popular shows her reveling in the spotlight but still remaining a gracious guest).

 

The only time I disliked how Rarity acted was Simple Ways, because it debased what I liked about her.
