Rainbow Dash Changes?

So, I recently got around to thinking. Rainbow Dash is one of my favorite ponies (as she is with many other people), but even though I know that she is a girl, I still have a hard time seeing her in a feminine way. Just as an off suggestion, to test people's opinions on the matter, who thinks that it's not a bad idea to make some minor changes to Rainbow's appearance in the show? Maybe having her wear her mane like she did at the Grand Galloping Gala?

Its just not rainbow dash's style to be feminine like rarity or fluttershy. She's a tomboy and i think thats what makes her stand out from most of the other ponies. It wouldn't be a bad idea to change her style for a few episodes but not as a permanent thing.

While I do love the way her mane looked in the Gala episode, there's really no reason to change her design like that. Sure, she make look boyish, but that's who she is and there's no reason to change it like that. So, no, don't change her simply because she's not really feminine.

I must say she does look nice in that photo. But i do agree with PonyBoy15 i dont think it should be a permanent thing, but it would be nice to see her with more dresses or mane styles

I kinda agree with the TC: won't mind if they made Rainbow Dash more feminine sometimes, but I won't make the change permanate.

As much as I love that hairdo, I don't think they should change Dashie permanently. While it would be nice to see her in more styles and stuff. 

 

Y'know, this reminds me of the "Do Rainbow Dash and Rarity Get Along?" thread. Maybe Rainbow Dash could try out new styles for Rarity or something.

Well I do like her mane like that, I wouldn't want it permanent. It's fun for an episode or two, but after a while it just feels weird having the tomboy be all girly.

Well, I DO like her mane in that style. But imagine it if she wasn't wearing the dress with that mane style. It wouldn't really suit her look, right? I prefer this mane style, but it wouldn't look that good if she were to fly around Ponyville with that on.

I don't see the point in making Rainbow Dash more feminine. It's not her character to be that way. Rainbow Dash should be the character who represents getting notice by your abilities and not by the way you look. Besides with her speed she would not be able to keep that stile up for along time.

I think all the mane six should have some minor physical changes in season 4, to visually show the progression.  Rainbow Dash is sort of a Wonderbolt now, so she might change her style a bit.

I don't really see a reason in changing her design or anything about her, even if people complain about her. I wouldn't worry about it too much at all.

One thing I have noticed with Rainbow Dash is that she does have a feminine side but is reluctant to express that due to some deep seated insecurities about maintaining her rep, changing her style permanently would be a bit drastic but maybe having her gradually become more comfortable with that side of her while still maintaining her tomboy side would present some great potential for character development. Applejack is just as much of a tomboy as Rainbow Dash but though she is not very "frilly" or "girly" she does have a feminine side which she has no problem with expressing when she feels like it. It will take a while for Rainbow Dash to get this secure if she does at all but it is a very interesting contrast to two characters who have a lot in common.

So there is no reason she should have major mannerisms and traits flipped.

Rainbow Dash actually has a secret feminine side, but she doesn't like to show it. She's worried ponies will think of her as not the fastest pony in Equestria, and just a girly pony. For example, she quickly nuzzles Tank in one of the episodes before looking both ways to make sure no one saw her.

While she isn't the most feminine pony around, she has enough femininity to wear a dress. Wearing a dress isn't girly girly, and it was normal for Rainbow Dash to wear one to a high-class event like The Grand Galloping Gala. Plus, the dress wasn't even that girly for dress standards. I don't see any reason why they should change it.
