Childish things you did as a kid, that you still do now?

Any thread that promotes NOSTALGIA is fine by me! :D

-Still have "Willy Bear", my old teddy whom I believe was originally called Patterson Bear, but I wanted to call him Willy.

-Still watch cartoons, (except MLP hurhurhur), especially ones from my childhood/youth (Ninja Turtles, Hey Arnold!, Invader Zim, Spongebob etc).

-Still play retro games from my childhood.

-Still get pissed off at said video games to the point of shouting at the screen.

-Still have a very juvenile sense of humor.

-While I can't fall asleep in bed unless it's pitch black, I still get creeped out walking around a dark house.

I'm sure there's a ton more, but yeah. I guess most of us don't change as much as we think we will when we "grow up".

lessee..

Collect and enjoy things i love, from transformers to MLP, down to even star trek and star wars.

This includes figures, clothes, costume building (just check my DA page :)  ), prop building, games, etc...

i'll even fly a completed Star trek/Star Wars model kit around and do the usual fun "Pew pew" just for fun, and hang them up.

Heck, i even wire lights into most of'em :)

I won't let age get in my way, and refuse to let the common world dictate how i should act.

As such i'm often mistaken for someone who's far below my age (usually i'm thought to be 18) or told i act like i'm 12-14 and should "grow up"

Thing is, i just see this as an act against my having FUN in life. So i don't blow my entire savings on BEER, instead i collect things that often see increased value.

So what if my adult life isn't revolved around sex, sure my brain gears me to it enough, but why should i live trying to impress people who want me to be someone else? to hell with that.

Sure if i eventually settle and get kids i might straighten up a bit, but my hobbies will always be with me.

My Aspergers sees to it, and i'm not gonna even try to deny or fight it. Its not excuse, its just my reason to be happy and fun :)

Edit: i should also add i've already done the most "mature" thing and survived. Something most people cannot ever say they've done, or will do.

I personally SERVED my country as a member of its armed forces. I had a good time here and there, i lived life, and now i just wanna settle down, have a steady job, and live at ease.

I'd go back if i could, but they rated me at 30% and said "get lost"... so meh...

still finding out about benefits they were keeping secret though.

I'm a 22-year-old 8-year-old. (yes, it make sense)

That should tell you everything.

I've had my bunny and dog stuffed animals since I was a baby and I'll be damned if I ever get rid of them. Of all the things we threw out when we moved I made sure to keep both of them. if I can, I will take them to my grave. Sentimentality ftw.

Oh and I still play video games and read (web)comics every waking moment when I'm not working.

I still call my friends silly nick names that I made up from when I was a kid. I still drink milk, and I guess the last one would be that I still love to eat candy a lot. Damn my sweet tooth T.T (This makes me still "Trick or Treat". I don't actually go door to door myself, I just watch over my baby cousins/sisters. But I still take all the candy they don't eat :3, and I ALWAYS dress up.)

They aren't really that "Childish" It's more of a matter of opinion really for my situation. I consider them as such as I developed them as a child.

I don't do a lot of things, but:

I still have quite a few stuffed animals

and,

*Not long ago, maybe two or three years* I wet my bed (no joke :/)

Also:

MLP, it was originally meant for little girls after all

I try to hide when a stranger comes in the house

and I still sometimes get scared of things like the dark.

I adore an air-filled dragon I call "Dot"

I um, uh...

- I still feel like I'm too young to get a job, drive, ect.

- I have over 300 hundred stuffed animals, and whenever I see one I like, I show it to my dad and ask if I can get it...

- I sometimes eat things I shouldn't.

- I flip out whenever my dad says something like a movie-theatre trip, or just something simple as getting candy.

- I still call my dad various nicknames similar to 'Daddy'.

- I get disappointed shopping for clothes, and would rather shop for toys.

- I always look at a toy section whenever there is one.

...

YERP.

I still sleep with the same teddy bear and Blanket that I've had since I was 7.

Still watch a lot of cartoons

I do most activities and chores to a theme song(mainly the Mission Impossible theme song)

Still play with toys

Still play video games

Whenever a character in a video game has a difficult time with something, I yell with them as if I was in their position(I'm sure the neighbours love me by now)

If I hear a random sound in the house during the evening, I have to go see what it is(it might be a monster)...

Whenever I have to prepare a lunch for myself, I draw all over the bag.

etc...

I kinda still am a child, depending on if you consider 13 a childish age. mlp-dponder.png

Regardless, I still do these things from my early childhood:

  • I watch cartoooooooooons!
  • I still have stuffed animals!
  • I am still a huge Sonic the Hedgehog fan!

Aaaand that's pretty much it!

I sleep with a Pinkie Pie nightlight...forgot about that. >.>

Now that's not childish, that just makes you cool. mlp-dhappy.png

  • 1 month later...

I have almost not changed at all...

I got the same handwriting.

I am still that stupid.

I jump around in the house becouse walking is too mainstream for me.

I trust my closet but not my door. (my sister is stalking me and wants to kill me)

Sometimes I and my friends go in town like 5 year old girls.( the jumping and walking thing, we are still  some of the manliest in school.)

I still love running around in the dark. (night is the best part of the day)

- I still don't hang my feet over the edge of the bed for fear of a hand reaching out and grabbing my ankle

- All the stuffed animals. All of them.

- I sometimes watch dinosaur documentaries to help me fall asleep on bad nights... because I was the weird kid that watched documentaries instead of Pokemon and Ninja Turtles.

- Still enjoy walking through the woods with a big stick, pretending to kill zombies... I do it less though because I'm not as energetic as I was when I was eight XD

God I'm a weird child ._.

I still sleep with a massive collection of stuffed animals, they take up half the space in my bed. They make it unbelievably comfortable though and I need to have 4 specific ones near me to fall asleep happily.

Pikachu, Ernie (Sesame Street),Polkaroo and the latest member, Derpy Hooves. What can I say, I have a small emotional attachment to those plushies.

I also still have a small fear of the dark. Well, its not really that simple... To be more accurate, I should say the dark triggers a bit of paranoia. I have really good ears and they seem to improve even more in the dark. I hate it when I can't identify a sound, like leaves rustling or the floor boards creaking. The worst was when I heard the toilet flush upstairs and I thought it was the closer one.

Not only do I watch cartoons, but I pretty much exclusively watch cartoons. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a documentary from time to time if I'm interested in what it's about, but other than all I watch are cartoons/anime. Fact of the matter is that I don't find sitcoms funny, I don't enjoy forensic shows at all, action shows are boring, and reality TV/game shows only amuse me for so long. So, yeah... Cartoons. That's all I have left, pretty much. xD

A lot of the foods I eat are what would be considered childish. Like Goldfish crackers. And I pretty much only eat cereal aimed at kids like Fruit Loops and Lucky Charms. As if I'm going to start eating the boring adult cereals, when the kid's ones taste much better. So, no thanks. lol

I sleep with a light on and my radio on. However, I'm going to say this is not actually a childish aspect of me. In general it would be, but I have reasons I have them on, and they're not the same ones I had as a child. I'm pretty sure that if I had the same life I had as a child (but as an adult, lol sorry, that may be confusing.) I would have grown out of sleeping with either now.

Part of me will never grow up. Never.

1. Watch cartoons.

2. Play video games

3. Sleep AND talk to my stuffed animals

4. Come home to my parents and have my mom cook me dinner.

5. Do stupid things like call shotgun on rides and play lava

6. Pretend and fantasize (thanks Mr. Rogers for teaching us Make Believe)

7. Continue to watch and enjoy "children's models" like Bert and Ernie, Big Bird, the Muppets, etc

The list could go on, but I sincerely believe no matter how much we grow up physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally, part of us will always remain young.

Basically my entire personality. Encompass everything! Although I do know more and I am a bit more wise, my personality itself really has not changed. As my title suggests, I am still a child at heart. I still view the world the same way I did before with only slight modifications. I appreciate all of the simple things in life like I did. I look forward to little things, such as maybe a meal or snacking on some chips while watching videos. I get overly excited (but in a good way) over little things. I have anger issues like before and I tend to get upset at some pretty dumb things.

Really, this is one of the few aspects that I can truly say that I love about myself. Age is only a number for me. I am still a kid, always will be. I always feel happiest when I embrace this fully. Sometimes my depression can hurt that, but when I can, I feel so much joy. It helps me cope with some of my deeper flaws, such as being unable to drive at all (due to different reasons).

Beyond that, I am still afraid of walking around certain parts of my town at night. I always get so paranoid that I think there are creatures lurking in the dark waiting to get me. I still rock back and forth constantly and usually sing or hum as well. Not sure if that is a childish trait or one of my autistic traits...Hmm, the autism part could be a reason for my personality. That is why I consider it a great thing, despite the flaws it brings on me.
