What Pony race would you choose

I'd like to be a unicorn, since I've always loved magic. Plus I could just cast a flying spell on myself if I wanted to.

While I voted for Earth pony, my OC is a pegasus.  (If I could draw, I'd post an image).

 

Here's a simple way to explain how he looks:

1. Start off with Rainbow Dash.
2. Make it male.
3. Change the sky blue body with navy blue.
4. Change the rainbow pattern of her mane and tail with navy blue, wolf grey, and neon green.
5. Change the eye color to neon green.
6. Replace the cutie mark with a Lombardi trophy.
7. You now have Champ Hawk.  (C. Hawk... get it?)

Earth Pony for sure. Pegasus is out since I don't like heights, and I wouldn't trust myself with magic so that eliminates Unicorn.

I think i would be a unicorn. I tend to align each race with a trait, earth with strong, pegasus with agile, and unicorn with intelligent. That's not to say that everypony fits this mold, i'm sure they don't, but if going by these alignments i am most definitely a unicorn.

Almost all unicorns only have telekinesis, light, and something to do with their talent.  POWERFUL magics like teleportation are done by only a relative few.  I mean even Trixie can't teleport.  Those few who have a real talent for magic, study their whole lives to achieve a number of spells significantly fewer than Twi can do generally.  So if you think you are going to pick unicorn and get butterfly wings, unless you are in the top 1% of unicorns, no.  That spell gives Twi trouble.

 

If it were you get the race(as a young adult), but the level of talent is random, then I would certainly choose Pegasus. 

 

If I were to be forced to go as my own age(45+) equivalent to pony then I would be forced into Unicorn because I wouldn't want to be right at the end of my flying days with all the pains and all and danger of trying to learn to fly at such an advanced age.

 

If I had more control over it then...

Griffon is one step below Pegasus.  Shaman Zebra is 3 steps below Unicorn.  Zebra = Earth Pony.  Dragon is 3 steps below Pegasus(except at the bottom).

Unicorn. Flight is already possible (thanks pinkie) and you could just cast a spell to give yourself wings or walk on clouds anyway. plus much, much more.

Morning dew wings. They are deadly under certain conditions, like... the sun. And besides, you just float with them, you don't really fly fast. Oh, and add "being a powerful unicorn" to the list of requirements for performing the spell. Even Twilight got exhausted after casting it. And flying machines don't really count, because it's the machine that's flying for you.

 

And the walking on a cloud spell is almost useless. Cloudsdale is adapted for non-pegasi, so you wouldn't need to cast it unless you were walking on a random cloud, which might be hard to get to, since you're a unicorn and teleport spells also require great power.

I'd probably be a pegasus if anything. Over the years I've had quite a few dreams where I could fly and to be honest, self-controlled flight seems rather nice actually. That and I can easily imagine myself having wings that are not there to begin with.

 

Oddly sometimes it feels like phantom limbs... okay, now it's just getting weird and it's probably just my overactive imagination as usual.

 

Being a pegasus is something I'd be cool with though.

Pegasus is my calling, I feel freedom when I'm up in the air where nopony can touch me... I can imagine when i have a hard day, or stressful week, I can just run out of my room and fly up into the sky and fly it out.

 

That and it would save money on gas for my stupid car, can just fly to get to my destinations easily.

Earth pony. I just don't need magic or wings. I have talents and opinions, which define me, I don't need anything more.

Also, there was once very good comic about earth ponies. It showed that they actually do much more than pegasi or unicorns and they never let the lack of wings or horns stop them. They just try harder. And they're stronger thanks to it. It kinda suits my character, because I'm someone who tries to focus on things I CAN do, instead of saying "I'd do something, but I can't, because...". I try harder and harder, until I'm finally happy with the results. Even if trying takes years.
