What countries are you obsessed with?

Hi Hi Puffy YumiMiko

Recommended Posts

I used to be obsessed with the US when I was younger because of the culture, the states, the cities like Las Vegas, the deserts, the language...

Now, none.

Japan - Anime is awesome. And their games. Enough said.

Germany = Awesome music and I have relatives there.

Mexico = I love spicy food

France = Why not love the fancy accents and stuff there?

England = it just seems like a pretty cool place to visit (one where I can actually understand the local language!)

Thailand. I visited once and was hooked on the hectic, beautiful chaos of Bangkok. I want to know that country more. It's so alive.

Also, Peru. I want to explore the Manu area and see six foot long giant river otters.

I have looked at their Xmas traditions and I fell in love!

It's called Christmas.  :okiedokielokie: If they have a celebration that's of a different religious or national origin, fine, but it's not Christmas.

What are yours? I know everyone will say Japan! Y'all otakus out there

Actually no. I like Japan but it's not one I'm "obsessed" with.

My actual lists would include my own, I love the United States and am a proud patriot.

Also the U.K. because their literature and stories are some of the best I've ever read. Brazil because I've been there and they have a great martial arts community that I would like to be a part of one day.

Hong Kong because they are one of the biggest holdouts of the free market in that part of the world and I support their independence from China.

To immediately go back on that, China. Some of the best philosophies and martial arts (two parts of the same whole) have come from that nation.

My country, Britain/UK, love the Union Jack flag (It's a flag of Britain/UK, not England, it has it own flag like Scotland and Wales), was obsessed with british things, landmarks and buildings like Big Ben, Stonehenge, Tower Bridge, St Paul's Cathedral, and my hometown's own Leeds Town Hall. Also like tea, full English breakfast, some comedies, Doctor Who and Manchester United.

Also love United States, love to go there. Also has things I like there, Superheroes, My Little Pony (Even stuido in Canada but it were it made) and Dr Pepper.

Also love Japan, cos of Anime, Hatsune Miku and Obera Dia Vanille.

Japan is really interesting, it would be very cool to go there. Yes, I am an otaku, but I also have an interest in their history.

It's the same with Germany. I love history and am really fascinated with Germany.

Canada because I live there.

The Netherlands because my family is Dutch, really want to go there some day...

Also England, Italy, Russia, France, New Zealand, Sweden, and basically everywhere in Europe. Including the micronations.

Xmas and Christmas are literally the exact same thing xD  Terms been around since the 16th century >.<

Also eh. Wouldn't say obsessed but Japan (Cool culture, not just the anime but I guess thats a part of it xD etc), Germany, the US and Australia are pretty interesting in their own ways. Sweden seems like a nice country as well.

Russia and it's history and to an extent its culture.

I'm also kinda into German stuff, having taken a trip there and studied the language for 3 years.

Japan is pretty cool I suppose, and no I'm not saying that just from Anime.

Canada. I've been thrice to Banff, volunteered for Canada Day in London, wrote about Canadian archaeology for my UG dissertation, wear Roots & HBC clothes regularly, have a plush moose with a Canada jumper in my bed right now, know more about Canadian geography than I do my own country, I used to have a citizenship test app which tested knowledge of Canadian culture/history, oh..and I love hockey. :please: I would absolutely love to call Canada my home one day.  :kindness:

I am so obsessed with North Korea, that it's actually kinda worrying XD. I am fascinated by it's history, what goes on over there and how such a horrible place can even exist today.

I am also very interested in Germany and Russia. Both of their histories are fascinating IMO. Then there's Ireland (because I live in Ireland), Italy and China.

I love Paris. Paris looks like a very beautiful place. I used to love the idea of Japan (back when I was a bit of a weeaboo....in middle school....), but now I don't anymore. Paris. <3

Japan, Japan... oh, and did I say Japan yet? :D I don't want to sound like a weebo, but I love this country so much. It's amazing, and the music is absolutely beautiful. Just everything is absolutely gorgeous. <3

I've never been obsessed with any countries. Not even my own.

The study of cultures, languages, and so on has never been all that interesting to me. In fact, I really have no interest in those things whatsoever.

I know I'm being the stereotypical American with this "the rest of the world doesn't matter" attitude, but even that isn't necessarily true as I don't care much for America either.

I been around the world before, the countries I tend to go the most are cold, temperate regions, like Canada, Sweden, Finland and Russia, my ancestors came from Canada, as some of the earliest French settlers, even the coureur des bois, I feel at home in the wilderness, wild and untamed, as a guest of the forest. I have been as far as Lake Baikal in Russia, it is a stunning sight to see, the water is so pure and it is fun to sail its waves, even the air is pure, it was a once in a lifetime experience. I am so warm blooded, the cold does not cause me discomfort, I am like Queen Elsa, the cold never bothered me anyway, I am fluent in Swedish, my Russian is basic, nevertheless, I feel like I belong in those countries, it is even stunning to see wild Eurasian wolves from a distance, I have been around real wolves before, so they don't scare me, anyway I like wolves, they give the forest that spectacular edge, messing from artificial urban life.

I guess the countries I am most likely obsessed with would be the Philippines, Sweden, Russia (specifically Russia during the Soviet Union days), Iraq and Syria (I tend to pay attention to a lot of the current events that happen over there whenever I watch the news), Japan, North Korea and probably also New Zealand.

Outside my own:

- Most European countries (especially the UK and France)

- Canada

- Japan

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.
