A Grand Idea, To Unite All The Bronies! Whether you are shy or not!

I've been thinking. As a closet brony myself, its hard to find other bronies without risking being bullied, but then I thought, if we had some sort of subtle symbol that doesn't directly represent the show I could easily find others. I Propose we create a symbol that we can draw onto our hand to symbolize we are bronies. Imagine being in public and being able to spot every brony just by looking at their hand! That would be Amazing! Being able to define us as a team just by this mark could mean we could do HUGE things together! THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES!!!! For anypony reading this, lets try to make this really happen! It would solve so many problems for so many people! Spread the word, or help create the symbol! Try to share this throughout the community!

 

I'm personally thinking the japanese character for harmony. What do you guys think? It has to be simple so it's easy to make!

Not a bad idea, but I have no problem showing off true pony stuff. I'm easy to recognize, I always have something pony with me. T-shirt, keychain, trixie skin on back of phone & tablet, pony wallpaper on phone & tablet, trixie pin on coat, soon to have a funko trixie on the dash of my car, have plans for an AJ tattoo on forearm... I feel like I need more trixie stuff, maybe I'll start wearing a wizard hat instead of my usual "cowboy" hat.

 

The harmony character though is a good way for those who are shy about it in public.

ooooo I may just have the thing! I made a special ring out of silver! It fits on my pinkie finger! Due to it fitting on pinkie finger, I can actually put it on my index finger and it stops at the first knuckle! Because i haven't described the shape of the ring yet, it doesn't make much sense. But use the picture below. Now, because of the cross on the ring, putting it on your index finger turns it into a weapon! Which is why i call it my weapon of mass instruction! Cause naturally i'd have to point  it at you if I were teaching them to you.

something special about this ring is that i myself made it with my bare hands. It actually took a week to create. Something new not in that photo is that there is actually a little heart loop that moves freely along the cross, also made of silver. I actually don't know how much the silver cost since it was mixed in with a bunch of stuff i inherited from father after he passed away many years ago. I actually kinda consider the ring to be an important symbol to who i am.

If I could actually be a man about it I was gonna get two Tattoos on my arms.  One (right side) was gonna be either Applejacks face/cutie mark and my left was gonna be a Cross *Faithful and Strong * but yeah a nice subtle sign we can all use for us "in the closet" bronies

Actually, the gaming community knows the cuties marks, and is highly judgmental. That's why I was specific about it being subtle... however, if we find a cutie mark that isn't very common or its an OC it could work.

Awesome Symbol! its very subtle as well! but before we decide on the official symbol, which yours sounds like a good candidate, we should get the word out more!

   I endorse this idea, a symbol is a quint, poignant way of finding other bronies, while maintaining anonymity in public or even the internet, I also like the idea of a "Brony code", it is also an potentially effective mode for all of us to come together, just the same I support almost any idea, anyone's imagination and everyone's participation to make it real, I would personally enjoy our fandom, or herd if you will, become more united, in addition encourage closet bronies to communicate in private, thus on their own free will talk to other fans; I wouldn't miss it for the world.

this is interesting but i'm not for it. I live in an area where bullying practically doesn't exist so everyone has the ability to be open. if i want to know that someone is a brony or not i have a discussion that will eventually lead to music and from there i can bring up pony related stuff. a problem i see with this is that several people get tattoos of symbols so you would need something easily recognizable yet subtle. there is no symbol out there, that we could all agree on that isn't biased in some way or directly toward the show. in the end this would only cause confusion with almost every brony you meet in person since not to many people will get a tattoo or write on themselves constantly, just like that. it's better to unite, come out of that closet clad in armor and stand up for ourselves. no more being a little bitch. IT'S PONY TIME!!!

This seems oddly like a rip-off of the early Christian idea of drawing a fish symbol in the sand to display your Christianity. I personally think this idea would never get off the ground, because the MLP fandom is much too disparate to all see this sort of thing, and the secretive bronies who you want to see it would actually be the least likely to see it. Hate to burst your bubble, but MLP isn't enough of a factor in many people's lives to become a silly "secret society" of sorts.

Tattoos.. I'm totally getting Pinkie Pies balloons on my right hip. I have my first one.. It does hurt.. But not nearly as bad as you think.. And I watched a couple episodes of MLP to fight off my pain.

Understandable that some areas and people can be as open as the wind bout anything.  Even if you can be open about it, it could still be an inside brony trademark we make for ourselves.  Nothing fancy we have to say with it for those that don't know.  I like the idea of being able to protect those who can't proudly share their thoughts without the backlash society teaches people.

 

I still stand by which two tattoos I'm planning on but I'd happily wear the Harmony symbol like a necklace or bracer.

That's actually not a bad idea, but I don't draw things on my hands. XD Also, it makes it look a bit like we're in a gang. Perhaps if we did something different, something from the show that only bronies would recognize, and wore it on a necklace or T-shirt as a brony recognition system.

At least nopony has asked us to remember a song from the show as the proof of our marks.  Otherwise I know for myself with my bad memory I'd be in a deep ditch
