It's that they don't want to be centered in with clopping to the show. The stereotype for bronies is that they clop to the show not the porn. You're a clopper, but I highly doubt you've clopped to just the show, but the R34. *Think about it from out of the brony bubble, clopping to the show in general would appear to be creepy.*

 

I'm not a clopper, but I know what comes in the territory of being a brony. And sometimes, bronies don't like being blamed for things they don't do. And sometimes they hate cloppers for giving them a "bad rep". With or without cloppers ever existing, the strereotype will still stand. So I don't understand the hate. I've met cloppers and found them to be cool people. They told they were cloppers down the road and I never knew; wanna know why? Cause It doesn't change jack about the personality of the person.

Well, as a part of both parties, I'd guess it's because people are uncomfortable with any topic of sexuality and don't want to see the characters they love sexualized. That's completely fine. I think there are also bronies out there who try to pretend cloppers don't exist because they don't want all bronies to be thought of as cloppers, because not all bronies are cloppers. The thing is, whenever anything related to sexuality comes up in a culture, unless that culture is very accepting of sexuality (most aren't), there will be a lot of public shaming and shit like that, so things will get hairy. I honestly would just like people to grow the fuck up and stop tiptoeing around every sexual matter like it's a big deal. It's only a big deal because people make it a big deal, and they just need to learn not to care what other people think.

Bronies are constantly being cast in a negative light because of the rule 34 side of the fandom which gets frustrating.  It's nothing against the cloppers themselves, it's just that it gets frustrating that every time bronies are put on the news or a talk show, they have to bring up the clopping.  Then the rest of the fandom has to defend it and try and explain that away and it gets tiring and irritating.

Part of it is a lot of them are young, fairly naive and new to fandoms and are thus not very familiar with R34, part of it is concerns about the stereotype about all bronies cloppers and part of it is a desire by some to put this fandom on a pedestal and impose their own opinions on the whole fandom. I understand why clop is not everyones thing but I will never understand this obsession so many people have with it, ironically the anti cloppers make a much bigger deal out of it than most cloppers themselves do. I seriously think at least half of the hard core haters are closeted cloppers, I really do because I have never seen the sort of scapegoating toward the rule 34 side of any other fandom that I have seen in this one. People say it is disgusting and they certainly have a right to that opinion which while I may have quite a few strange fetishes myself there are certain things even I find a little gross, but I have a long time ago came to the conclusion that if it is consenting adults than it is none of my business.

I used to see a lot of clopper hate on here but it has been steadily going down, in the clop survey thread I was really surprised at how many people voted yes because while I think there are a lot more people that are cloppers than are willing to admit to it the fact that clopper hate has been so low compared to many other threads I have seen here in the past is actually encouraging. There is still a lot of ignorance in parts of the brony community and the general public about this but I suppose the best cloppers can do is try to set a good example by not posting it where it dosen't belong and using all of the appropriate tags when posting it which most of them already do but there is always the few bad apples out there that we can't do much about.
