I feel like there isn't enough Celestia love. It's almost like we don't consider her a character that we see on a personal level, and basically find her too hard to understand sometimes. Maybe we treat her as our ruler. (when I say this I mean you wouldn't say that the queen is your favourite celebrity...) Not sure why, but I felt it had to be said...

Despite Applejack being the last, after a three way tie, I still like her. She's just not as interesting as everyone else.

 

Twilight is definitely best pony based on a description of her character traits. However, season 1 had a lot of occurrences where she just wasn't written very consistently, which left a bad taste in my mouth. She was #2 for a long time, but Lesson Zero has gotten her back on top, and I'm hoping the frienship report change will allow her to stay there by allowing her to be written more consistantly, since she doesn't have to be phoned into every episode.

 

I'm reserving a solid judgement until she's been in at least two episodes, but Luna's poised to jump high in the ranks, maybe even the top.

Mine has to be Twilight Sparkle with Pinkie Pie as a close second. Twilight because she's got the cute social awkwardness about her, but she mans up (pony up?) when things hit the fan (Discord brought that in clear light for me). Also, her behavior in Lesson Zero just added to her awesomeness. I seriously hope the writers expand on her dreaded time in Magic Kindergarten.

 

Pinkie's a strange one for me. I'm a huge fan of character development, and I sort of had an epiphany after Party of One. Pinkie's only happy and joyful when she has friends. It's like she feeds off of that happy energy. But, when you take them out the equation, she's just a broken and schizophrenic pony. I just see so much that can be done with that in future episodes.

 

There's my two cents.

I remember, hen I first got into MLP, applejack was my favourite. But I found that she began to get a bit annoying, and that they really pushed the western drawl. Also, she had almost no flaws. A lot of bronies kind of went through this... Near the end of season 1, she had no episodes for herself. Her last episode was Fall weather friends, which is episode 13. Of course she is in almost all of the other episodes, but this is the last one that focuses on her... Maybe she'll get more episodes in the new season and climb the ranks a bit more...

Very much how it was for me. I did like her in The Show Stoppers too, she had quite a bit of that. She was played kinda cool in Lesson Zero, so I'm still hanging in there with her, but the others have their moments of higher popularity from week to week. Rarity is most intriguing pony!

One of the things I love about the show is all the characters are so well done it takes some time to decide on a favorite.

I voted Rarity but it's just about a tie with Twilight and Fluttershy.

Interesting, in my first attempt at Fan Fiction I gave the major roles to Seafoam, Luna, Twilight and Scootaloo, with honourable mentions for Sweety Belle, Philomena and Zecora, plus Evil Pinkie...

This is a hard one for me to answer. If I had to go with personality, it would probably be a tie between Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. Rainbow Dash is so awesome and insanely powerful, that she actually managed to kill Starscream at Screwattack. Seriously, I think she got into the Chemical X at some point, because I don't think there are many animated characters that could stand up to her. It's for those reasons that she's the main character in my Fic.

 

Fluttershy on the other hand, is the reason I became a Brony. She's basically the Bubbles of the MLP: FIM gang. So it pretty much becomes a tie between those two.

I love the ponies all so much, but Fluttershy is undoubtedly my favorite. Her timid nature is matched equally by a brave spirit, and at times a crazy will. It's the fact that, even though she's shy, she's easily able to stand up for herself when she has to; that's what makes me like Fluttershy so much.
