Small ways MLP has affected your Life

So we hear about how people becoming Bronies and how much it impacted their life. Many of us have that story.

But right now, I'm curious about the non life changing things the show has done for you. Very small addtions/subtations to your life that wont change it but just make it different because you are a Brony

With me, when I here of Apple, I no longer think of the Computer Company but an actual apple, not to mention our sweet friend Applejack

It also Takes me a second to remember that is a cereal.

"we're eating Applejacks, you want some?"

*Horrid gasp by me for a second*

Im not scared of butterflies now

The MLP Forums have made me a bit less shy when I talk to people (im still working on approaching people)

Im trying to convert a friend (i dont think it will work, but I hope so anyway)

I subtly and unsubtly trying to see if people I know are bronies

Replaced my normal consumption of orange juice at school with apple juice.

Consciously more thankful for my younger sister, whom is a bizarre mix of Applebloom and Sweetie Belle in some ways.

It's made me sooooo much more tolerant of things/subjects and made me respect some subjects that didn't deserve the hate I would've given if I discovered them before MLP.

I'm also a happier person in the inside, although I don't usually show it

If I fill my mind with ponies, my political views shift drastically from conservative authoritarianism to liberal libertarianism. I dunno how :c

I would find myself doze off in class sometimes. Do not ask how, but somehow I drew a picture of Rainbow Dash whie I was dazed. I swore I couldn't show my face at school ever again. Good thing for Summer. My class has a memory like a goldfish.

Not much... I guess I'm a nicer person (I've always been very patient and quiet), but I'm also seeing lots of flaws in my friendships with everyone around me... Especially my close friends. They always seem to forget I exist when I'm not there :( ...

Mind, it's also made me more social, and I've actually begun to come out from the impenetrable fortress that used to shroud my true personality... Now I've realized I can be as random and excited as I want, because it is what I truly am like! And it feels right to do so! I took a lesson from Pinkie on that!

It's also hurt my grades a bit... Procrastination!

Anytime I see names of cultivars of apples such as Braeburn and Golden Delicious, the first thing that pops to my head is the ponies, not the apples. Also, I eat more apples.

I'm more willing to try new things now, too.

Every time I see a certain friend of mine (I converted her into a (young) pegasister), I try to sneak in little pony references to see if she'll get them. It's quite fun. Her older sister (whom I tried to convert, but mostly failed (she watches it, but only because "There's nothing else to do)) is constantly annoyed by it, though, and "wishes I had never shown her". I find that the majority of music I listen to is somehow related to ponies.

You know if you Google "applejack" on google images only one result on the first page is the cereal? Everything else is Applejack(pony)

Same with the forums

I also try to see if people are bronies. I'll say stuff like:

"Nice jacket but it needs to be about 20% cooler"

"I bet I can beat your highscore in ten seconds flat!"

"Of all the worse things that could happen, Obama getting re-elected would be the WORST. POSSIBLE. THING!"

My Little Pony has effected me all-round. I am (or at least try to be) nicer to everybody aroun me, because I have seen the results from the Gilda episode. And because the show portrays a good example of what it is like to have friends, and it is nice.

I am generally a lot happier and motivated toward things. (I am currently working on my singing and guitar skills.)

I don't get bothered by many things or people anymore, because ponies.

My Little Pony is like a life medicine.

  • 2 years later...

Whether awkward or normal, what things has being a brony caused you to do in real life?

Let me tell you an awkward one (some might have heard this)

Friend-(Has bow in hair)

Me- Hey you have something in your... (thinking)... mane.

Me- (Walks off)

Friend- Mane...?

derp.

@, the thread you posted has been discussed in different threads already (for specifically embarrassing moments, you can always check out this thread: http://mlpforums.com/topic/61197-embarrassing-brony-moments/ ) . Consequently, I have merged yours with a similar thread, owing to a similarity of the titular question. Please ensure you use the search function before posting to see whether your desired discussion point already has a dedicated thread. :)

'You Know You're a Brony When...' (  http://mlpforums.com/topic/67405-you-know-youre-a-brony-when/ ) is another one for general discussion on a similar topic.  :)

MLP:FiM has improved my tolerance, my thoughts on touchy subjects and my short temper. It has also taught me how to be more sociable and make friends.

I am a very happy person because of what MLP:FiM has done to me. Who knew that small things from a cutesy TV show could help you become a batter person? x)

Both my teenage daughters are Bronies, so this is another avenue for us to bond through a mutual interest. That little extra shared interest is always great. Also, it's funny to see my wife facepalm when we all start talking about an episode, talk pony, or break into song.

Also, I found this place. Though with the friends I have met ... it wouldn't be fair to call this a 'small way'.

Well I try to be a little more open with people, more willing to allow opportunities for friendship to take root. I'm also more open to different genres of music from the various brony musicians showing me that even rap had potential I previously dismissed.
