  1. My friends and I wanted to go see it as a group because why not, but it seems that it won't be happening- it's not being featured in a theater near us! Disappointed but hopefully it'll air to the HUB (not that I'm doubting this will eventually happen).
  2. I would think so. I'm probably just repeating what's been said, but, it does seem she's the binding element of friendship- it's even in the title of the show 'Friendship is Magic.' While probably not a satisfying answer, it's not necessarily bad for her friends. You don't exactly need a vast understanding of friendship to partake in a friendship, to put it simply. There's nothing wrong with understanding it better or less, either. Twilight's studies are just on friendship at the moment, so naturally, she would 'know more about it' than her friends. But as I said- it's not a bad fate. It doesn't affect the friendship that they have. Some people are more knowledgeable of certain subjects than other people; the same concept can be applied here.
  3. Yeah, I'm thinking she just stayed on campus while she was in school, but she could have been living with her parents just as well. Interesting question to bring up- I've never even thought about it!
  4. I think she's tall due to age- sorry if I didn't make that point clear. ^^ Different body types and such would explain why maybe Cadence and Fleur de Lis have a body type that differs from most ponies- maybe it has to do with genetics or breed. c:
  5. I just wanted to point on the Cadence part- I don't think she's thousands of years old, by any means. Reasoning for this is that original two princesses, Luna and Celestia, appear to be ethereal. Emphasis is pretty much put on the fact that they hold an almost god-like status in Equestria, so it's safe to assume that they are immortal. Cadence seems to age at the same rate the other 'normal' ponies do in the show, however. And she doesn't seem to give off the same magic/power Celestia and Luna do, regardless of her being an alicorn. If she went through the same process Twilight did to gain her wings, which is what is currently assumed, she'd have to be a normal aged pony.
  6. Though, considering, Applejack hasn't really showed up too much in episodes- or at least had a lot of emphasis put on her..A lot of the qualities you take time to point out, I've actually met some people who are very much like that. Level-headed, ideal older sister, has family values (noble cause for going to the Gala), everyone appreciating them. I think you seem to leave out that she's very kept to herself about her own problems, which is a character flaw. She is stubborn and sometimes too proud. She is probably the most mature out of the bunch, but that doesn't make her a Mary Sue necessarily.
  7. Yes, but I imagine it'd be more casual for my parents to take in considering I'm a girl. My mom did think it was kind of weird at first though? She didn't quite know what all the fuss over My Little Pony was again until I pointed them out to her at the store. Now it's kind of a regular thing that we stop and look at stuff or she'll pick up a MLP shirt at Hot Topic for me every so often.
  8. I will be the first (but now second) to say it here- I don't believe in a concept such as 'luck.' I just believe that success is based on various other statistics such as your ability/skill and the probability of being able to 'win' at something, if the situation 'luck' is being applied to is a contest or giveaway/drawing. It's like taking a test- either you know your stuff or you don't. Let's say for example that it's a multiple choice test. So as I stated first, you know the information or you don't. If you don't, there's a probability of you guessing the individual questions correctly. Whether you're 'lucky' or not is all based on the probabilities. You might guess right, you may not. But I don't think 'luck' is necessarily involved in the process. But as far as superstitious stuff goes? When I was younger, my school would give out ice cream at lunch if you got a smiley face on your plate at lunch- I would always cross my fingers but it never worked. Maybe some of the other users here can give some better 'superstitious' tips.
  9. Actually, this occurred to me randomly one day, but I didn't really think much of it. A lot of people already jumped in to explain how the name was thought of- but it is kind of a 'hang on, what?' sort of thing.
  10. My thoughts match the most popular vote here; I simply think they're both alicorns. However, I could see them as being really anything- since from Magical Mystery Cure, we did see how Twilight gained her wings. I'd imagine the same process could happen for any other pony worthy of a princess title, wings or horn being gained in the process. Actually, the thing about Twilight and Cadence is an interesting point to bring to attention. It's also interesting to note that their aging process is also different- so maybe Celestia and Luna are just an essence of magic? Very interesting point to have mentioned- it entirely slipped my mind that they are different from the other two alicorns we've seen.
  11. Hmm..never thought about it? I imagine it'd feel like any other pony's mane, 'cept maybe softer and silkier? I think the only difference is that a sort of magical aura surrounds it, maybe giving it a sort of glow unlike any other pony's mane.. But overall, I think it's just normal horse hair with an aura around it to give it any other 'special effects' such as the stars in Luna's mane.
  12. I understand bronies seek respect but to be real here- it's just a fandom. It's not as if the other fandoms demand respect simply because they go against social norm. If you wanna wear your pony pride around, go for it, but don't be shocked if you get weird glances from people passing by. I thought it was kinda known by all bronies that you're going against what's seen as normal- the odd looks are going to happen.
  13. I'm also very much available to help with absolutely anybody who may need proof-readings to be done! I'd be more than glad to review what you've written!
  14. Here's my deviantArt account- http://koshi-doshi.deviantart.com/ (can also be found down there in my signature) I don't upload as much art as I used to (simply because I can't quite bring myself to draw personal art too often right now), but I'm starting to get back into the swing of things. I'll make sure to check out the links that other people post on here!
  15. Truly honestly? I'd recommend PaintTool SAI all the way. I see someone else already has and that you're considering it but seriously- depending on the type of work you're wanting to get into, I'd just get it. I'll let you know immediately that it's very straightforward- no filters included or anything that I'm aware of with my version- just the tools. So I'd suggest getting a sister program if you ever want to add anything special to your work in the future- GIMP is almost exactly like Photoshop, so-? There's some very simple layer settings you can use, but they aren't like the artsy photo-editing ones that come with photo editors.
  16. Hehe, interesting shirt. (: I'm more-so one for shirts with images on them but this is a pretty witty shirt. I've seen some other brony shirts that are pretty minimal on pictures if you'd eventually want to work up to them- the ones I've seen are at Hot Topic, but I'm sure WeLoveFine supplies the very same shirts if you can't acquire them the first way. I believe my first shirt was a Rainbow Dash shirt (original vector) that said '20% Cooler'. It's so stretched out and thin now though. XD I'll have to buy a new one at some point if I don't just buy an entirely new shirt I haven't had yet.
  17. I guess, me being a girl. I don't have the same issues as some male bronies may have- but seriously, just go in there and get it. We're talking about Hot Topic here- not some girly store like Claire's. ;P A lot of the merchandise at Hot Topic is marketed towards men anyway- why should they care what you're buying if it's for men? If they do judge you or make fun of you- send in a report/talk to the manager. It's not their job to make fun of customers- it's their job to ring you up, take your money, and let you go on your way. Nothing more, nothing less.
  18. Owch. It happens to me when my entire class gets in trouble or something- I'll just be sitting there, trying my best not to laugh or grin and it's awkward because the teacher is usually staring right at me, at least it feels like it. (And it's not as if I'm a bad kid at school- I'm actually really good and I stay on task with everything. I've yet to get seriously in trouble.)
  19. I honestly just stop correcting people when it doesn't matter (getting a receipt/ticket on my orders at fast food places). They always get it wrong- I've never had a receipt where my name has been spelled right- correcting them won't fix anything I suppose. xD But as far as teachers? Annoying. My name is right in front of their face every single day (attendance sheets) and they can't spell my name right, no matter how many times they see papers with my name on it or anything. I once got a school award with my name spelled wrong. You'd think they'd check it since it was an award only one person got every few months. My grandpa's also spelled my name wrong. Usually with new people, I'm okay with spelling it out for them or correcting their spelling- but sometimes there's just no excuses. But on the flip side, my mom decided it was a good idea to change the spelling of the common 'Kristen' to 'Kristin' because of aesthetic appeal. I'll never change my name since 'Kristen' looks wonky to me since I'm used to my spelling but. Really- I just wish people were more careful.
  20. Looked down on? I'm super shy because I wasn't socialized as a child, going into my teens. I can barely talk to someone at the grocery store without getting anxiety. But I've never really had someone trash talk me for being shy. There's a difference between sitting there, never smiling, keeping your head down all the time. I offer friendly smiles to even just people I walk by in the hallway if we make eye contact. I try to acknowledge people in my classes. I guess I'm not exactly super quiet at school anymore, but I'm still shy when dealing with new people- and from what I've experienced..people are pretty okay with it? I mean- if you at least smile when someone is talking to you, you're fine. Joke around if people prod at the fact you're quiet, it's no big deal. Body language is important if you're shy.
  21. I say no. While I'm a bit biased with my answer due to my fairly strong dislike for Rainbow Dash, it simply..wouldn't work. A spinoff is simply another show- the issue is filling all that time. And what would they do with the spinoff that they can't do in the original- only better? I don't see a need for it, maybe if it was some sort of prequel to the show, but there are other ponies I'd be much more interested to hear about as far as their life before the time period the show takes place it.
  22. Well everyone starts somewhere! The lyrics you used in this song were absolutely perfect and frankly, it'd be interesting to see a brony make ponified versions of songs. I'm not sure if somebody's already on that, but just from this song- it seems like something you're really talented at! Seriously- you should try to get in contact with collaborating brony musicians and see if maybe you can sing lyrics for songs they've already composed! I'm sure there's plenty of people who would be interested in working with your skill!
  23. From what I've read and seen, I think the idea of changing her back is somewhat already debunked. The writers have confirmed that they are enjoying writing using Twilicorn, so I'd like to assume that she's in quite a number of episodes in the fourth season. (:
  24. Wow..you have a really pretty singing voice. I don't listen to a ton of brony music but this is actually really really good. I like how soothing it sounds while being actually very dynamic. Brilliant work- you have beautiful control and skill with singing! Keep it up! (: Have you considered doing more songs like this?
  25. As far as the treating/not treating Twilight as a princess..there's absolutely nothing wrong with treating her with respect. I actually see nothing wrong with ponies not bowing- and I feel like she'd feel uncomfortable if ponies were to do that constantly. She's still Twilight just..a princess and alicorn now. I don't think there'll be too many changes with her. As far as the treating her as a princess, I'm sure it could be a potential premise for an episode- that friends don't have to be treated differently simply because they're of important status. (Though I'm sure this has already been thought of by other users on here) As far as the Trixie thing- I don't feel like Trixie will be making a return any time soon. There just doesn't really seem to be a reason for her appearance except maybe as a background character. But as far as Twilight's magic goes- being a princess doesn't exactly mean that she's immediately more advanced in magic. There hasn't really been any evidence of 'alicorn = stronger magic.' Also, with the letters/Celestia relationship, it doesn't seem to be too far away from the concept of a high school graduate keeping in touch with a professor/teacher they've bonded with. And even though they've graduated, it doesn't dissolve the student/teacher feel of the relationship (in my opinion.)
