If the Mane 6 were to form a rock band...
Righteous Fury replied to Tollhouse's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Twilight: rhythm guitar/keyboards - handling the bulk of the song while leading the others and letting them shine Rainbow: lead guitar - would want to be noticed Applejack: drums - dependable, filling in where she's needed the most Fluttershy: bass - supports the others without drawing too much attention to herself Pinkie: singer - does her own thing, likes to interact with the crowd Rarity: various - would play guitar/keyboards/percussion depending on what was needed -
There is such a thing as an objectively terrible show/movie/book/etc. That doesn't mean you can't enjoy it for whatever reason, but acknowledge it's terrible. if not liking things and giving valid reasons to not like things makes one a hater, the term loses all meaning it was supposed to mean someone who goes around ranting about bronies like a madman what happened? "LOVE AND TOLERATE EVERYTHINGGGGGGGGGGGGG" - no fuck that

Something that occurred to me: I think the cutie marks are too complex. They're usually very simple designs, recognizable from a distance. These characters have a lot of detail in their marks, which isn't necessarily bad, but it really makes them stand out from the show's characters.

About The Looks of the Humanised Girls
Righteous Fury replied to Mushy Giant Friend's topic in Equestria Girls
The main problem is that the designs are WAY too busy and complicated. The proportions aren't cute, they're skinny and look weird. The skin colour is obnoxious and distracting. The boots look both incredibly dumb and ugly. The clothing is too complex for their skinny size. The cutie marks on their cheeks are distracting. They have wings but not horns. Their hair looks like it's made of plastic. RD is either wearing shorts under her skirt, which is dumb, or her underwear is showing, which is creepy. The designers clearly put no thought into this, creating cookie-cutter figures with no thought as to how the characters would actually dress. In short, the original characters were created with several principles in mind: to show a wide variety of personality, to have non-stereotypical female characters, and to highlight each one's unique differences from each other. With one picture Hasbro has taken a steaming crap over that vision. Now, I don't hate Hasbro for this, they're entitled to make money off their IPs and much better franchises have had far worse cash grabs. However, we, as the consumers, have to draw a line. Therefore, if any one of you spends any money towards this shit I will personally drive to your house and punch you in the face. Just FYI.- 47 replies

Several spelling/grammar errors, make sure to get a good editor when you start writing the story proper. Otherwise not bad, looks like you have some nice diversity in the characters, just make sure you know their flaws as well as their strengths.

Why do we only see mostly fillies (girls) in Equestria?

maybe really though Twilight's usually been pretty chill with letting others lead/act when the situation calls for it (Dragonshy, The Crystal Empire, Keep Calm and Flutter On) and she's been challenged when she gets out of control (Lesson Zero, A Canterlot Wedding) Rainbow's always acted as the Lancer to Twilight's Hero (see TVtropes), and I think she's generally more comfortable in that role. You mentioned Wonderbolt Academy, I think that's an episode that really highlighted how good a leader Twilight is. Not just because she would never endanger/bully Rainbow, but because she actually listens to her friends and acts on their ideas. Really, she's less of a leader than a mediator, making sure that everypony gets their say and choosing the best course of action.

this was a damn good episode I know some people didn't like how the Mane 6 and townspeople treated the CMC - but getting rained on was the worst of it, come on guys, lighten up Diamond Tiara was fabulous in this episode, I liked seeing her as something other than a mindless bully role Rainbow in the spa was great Rarity's flip-out was wonderful yeah... just an all-around great episode

mentioned this in another thread, but the cast of MLP matches the cast of Community nicely Twilight/Annie = Overachieving, slightly naive bookworm with anxiety issues. Rainbow/Troy = Confident, loyal jock vainly trying to hide their sensitive side. Pinkie/Abed = Genre savvy, hyperactive oddball who has trouble communicating to people. Applejack/Britta = Honest, direct hard worker who's often defiant or self-judgmental. Fluttershy/Shirley = Gentle, sensitive motherly figure with repressed rage issues. Rarity/Jeff = Suave, good-looking charmer that's vain to the point of self-obsession. Spike/Pierce = Greedy, snarky outsider that really just wants to be loved and accepted in the group. both shows revolve around these very different people becoming friends and dealing with their respective problems both shows have numerous meta references and easter eggs Rainbow and Pinkie are shown to have a unique friendship early on, same with Troy and Abed Spike and Twilight are inseparable, Pierce says Annie's his favourite of the group Rainbow and Applejack are the most commonly shipped pair, Troy and Britta start a relationship in S3 they occasionally have to work together to defeat: a chaotic mastermind intent on destroying their world, and someone impersonating an authority figure

heh, you are definitely not alone in that, there are actually a fair amount of people who really believe they're on a show, it's even called Truman Syndrome http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Truman_Show_delusion

Bruce Almighty is one of his worse movies IMO have you seen The Truman Show/Man on the Moon/Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? those are his best
